CONFIRMED: FORREST OUT, CHRISTIE IN

JAMES FORREST failed his late fitness test to miss making John Kennedy’s Celtic squad for the Scottish Cup fourth round encounter at Ibrox this afternoon.

The experienced Scotland international winger, who had just made his first-team comeback in the previous Cup-tie against Falkirk after being out for five months with an ankle ligament injury, hirpled off in the second-half of last week’s 6-0 win over Livingston.

Caretaker boss Kennedy gave the 29-year-old veteran of the Glasgow fixture every chance to be included in the pool, but Forrest was forced to call off this morning.

Ryan Christie, who came on and scored the sixth goal against Livi, will start and there is also a place for Diego Laxalt at left-back with Greg Taylor on the substitutes’ bench.

TEAM: Bain; Kenny, Welsh, Ajer, Laxalt; Brown, McGregor; Christie, Turnbull, Elyounoussi; Edouard: Subs: Barkas, Taylor, Bitton, Griffiths, Ajeti, Soro, Rogic, Montgomery and Ralston.
