spl need to agree to newco in spl 2 which decrees thier no vote and shows they lied to their own fans, there will be little point in having an spl cause very few people will want to watch it, including me.

if sfl clubs say no then jump to spl 2 the same as above will apply

i honestly think they would kill football as we know it, there would not be any scraps as i said earlier no fans = no interest = no money = no t.v. deal = games a boggy

    what you think?

What will the SPL do if the ‘eligible’ SFL Clubs refuse to join SPL2 ON INTEGRITY GROUNDS ..?….night all….

Totally agree mate , Archie McPherson showed his true colours tonight , Smith is pathetic and the numpty from the MSM ignorant of the facts . Total waste of time.

  6. STV was described by its founder, Roy Thompson with the following quote:-

“running a commercial television station is like having a licence to print money”

They have been famed throughout their years of existence as a purveyor of cheap ineffectual TV, a video Sunday Post, if you like. Cast your mind back and try to recall a memorable STV programme ( I came up with two*), that does not involve Celtic on Scotsport, in their 50+ years of transmitting. You’ll come up with 100 famous Belgians quicker.

Today they produced a 15 minute discussion on Scotland Today that lived down to all their previous output. The lassie hosting the interview could scarcely conceal her boredom with the topic and had no idea whether Gordon Smith was a modern day Davie Hume or a re-incarnation of Jade Goody.

A bigger waste of time and money than aamteur night at The Burns Howff.

*The 2 STV productions that escape my criticism were The Adventures of Francie & Josie (1962) and Brond (1987). I will not accept Taggart which is merely functional, rather than good.

The guests are Duffield and Fraser Wishart.

They will grasp this chance to broadcast the truth to a grateful audience.

  8. Rest in Peace Joe.

Unfortunately he was before my time but it is obvious he was one of Celtic’s finest ever players.

Thoughts with Joe’s family and friends at this difficult time.

The last program I watched on STV.

To my Celtic supporting brethren who watched the “debate” tonight and are sitting here bewildered by it – Guys, the solution lies in our own hands. Just stop watching it.

STV was a Rangers outlet years before they hooked up officially.

Celtic fans have the power to bring down Traynor, Keevins, BFDJ, Young and all the other muppets who are polluting our media.

    We get what we deserve.

The solution, as always, lies within.

  12. PLANXTYIRVINE on

I have never understood the regard with which Archie McPherson has previously been held on this site. My understanding was always that Jock Stein bundled him out of the dressing room in Lisbon because Archie never had a good word to say about Celtic. Is this wrong? What about the old joke of the Celtic supporter phoning the BBC on a Saturday night because there was something wrong with the colour on his telly. The receptionist asked what the problem was and he said, I don’t know but all I can see is Archie’s big blue nose!

  13. just watched the twelfth celebrations on the tv, distinct lack of ‘rangers’ tops on show this year

They can give as many masonic handshakes as they like.

I wont be taking any part in their corrupt league…and im sure i wont be the only one.

Let them cheat all they want to…i think they will find, that nobody wants to pay to see a rigged game.

    Regan, Doncaster, Ogilvie….Resign now.

    Hail Hail

  15. Very inebriated, just watched the sham that was all about scottish football on STV, dearie, dearie me, what a feckin joke.

“My understanding was always that Jock Stein bundled him out of the dressing room in Lisbon because Archie never had a good word to say about Celtic. Is this wrong?”

Yes. Jock was hostile to the BBC in general but tolerated Archie. It does not make Archie’s position on this argument any more tenable. Archie id no friend of David Murray’s but was a boyhood Rangers fan and is reverting to that position.

Alex Thomson?? Who, WTF were you doing on that? Contractual???

You had a wee bit were ye nearly got to it but, the BINT cut you off and went to Wiggy and you were left, well totally embarrased – Join The Club.

Well Alex a wee aside to the finacial crap that was on display tonight,

I spend around £2k a year going to watch Celtic and, as the name suggests I don’t spend anything going to home games (season ticket excluded).

Do the MATH for the rest of our (GLOBAL) support and you might get what INTEGRITY means.

If not, be Archies bitch for life, that was embarassing.

    In the third.

smith ..”rangers financial difficulties,”airbrushed 12 seasons of dual contracts an over a £134M worth off debt.

mcpherson would rather talk about the hatred of fans the motivation of fans rather than the cheated fans.

archie cant stomach the empire he once gloried in crumbling before his eyes.

  20. Any further cover up by the SPL & SFL lackeys would be exposed now. There is no way or hiding place with the number of descenters everywhere they would be able to keep all their dirty deeds under wraps.

It’s div 3 for the rats and after tomorrow it will be time to campaign to have our stolen Trophies back.

Sniggering at Archie talking about loyalty being ‘compounded’ or ‘exacerbated’ before finally settling for ‘increased’.

For a respected journalist, he was struggling a bit there with vocabulary. Then again, maybe the particular kind of loyalty we’re talking about here does fit well with those more negative sounding options.

  23. Rather than Div 3 or Div 1, should the question for the SFL be “does the new club meet the criteria for acceptance into the SFL full stop”?

I cannot see how Sevco can possibly meet the most basic of criteria. As Clyde FC loosely pointed out, who are Sevco FC, who owns them and what accounting history can they present to demonstrate that they will not fail financially during this season?

    Bizarre. Utterly bizarre.

  24. The Green Man on

I truly hope tomorrow…that the SFL clubs show these cheating bigots that football cant be bought.

Had too much of the vino tinto, so please accept my apologies if I don’t know what I am on about.

I don’t really, am at my wits end about what to do, I will always love our club, but I m not looking forward to revalations that does my head in.

I was replying to a post from a new poster PlanxtyIrvine a few minutes back from mine.

Planxty were a mixed bag but I have always been a big fan of Andy Irvine and got to see the great man at the Concert Hall in Glasgow over a year ago.

  29. The Green Man on

Ogilvie, Regan, and Donkeycaster…make Richard Nixon look like a lightweight.

Blatant Subversion of their own rules, to enable a club with no licence, and no players, to escape their rightful punishment…is truly beyond the pale.

    Scottish Football is dead IMO.

The problem with my humour is that I have absolutely no quality control. I will put any old rubbish out there.

BTW I gave my 2 programme exceptions at the end of the post- Francie & Josie (1962), and Brond (1987). I would not count Taggart or Rebus- they’re not crap but they’re fairly mainstream pieces of TV.
