Dedryck strolls past England

1089

Hot on the heels of a former Celtic player becoming the most expensive defender in transfer history, we watched Dedryck Boyata stroll through Belgium’s win against England last night.  I would be more animated on this subject if he was secured on a five year contract, but as he his current deal only has one year to go, such a high profile performance could reduce our options for the player.

How many of you thought we would be in this situation after the Ibrox game in March?  That day Brendan Rodgers said there was better to come from Dedryck.  He is still not the finished article, but he’s a key cog in a team who fancy their chances in Russia.

Stiliyan Petrov match worn Champions League shirt raffle

We have a very special raffle, which ends this afternoon! The shirt Stiliyan Petrov wore in Celtic’s 0-0 draw with Bayern Munich during our 2003 Champions League campaign is available. You can buy a ticket for £1 here on ebay.  Stan signed the shirt.

All proceeds go to the Stiliyan Petrov Foundation to aid research into leukaemia and cancer treatments.  Stiliyan’s recover from leukaemia shows us just how far treatments have come, but as our own CQN community knows too well, more progress is needed.  The draw will be made at Woodside Hotel, Aberdour, where the 14th annual CQN Open Golf Day is now underway.

Hope to see you later.

Starry Plough put a great link up here about Neymar Jnr it’s an eye opener I can’t be bothered with all the shoite against us… Broony lost the plot and got sucked in, deal with it, the mock outrage is … mock outrage of big Moussa goes down easily to get us to the champions league the same mock outragers will be singing and dancing

Anyhow I better shut up I feel like Neymars press officer :-)

Fellow Celts good night n god bless, got a feeling EK might be sunny tomorrow morning this is only a forecast and not an actual report

Gerry, I do agree with you to a degree about Neymark, sorry Neymar.

He has unbelievable talent on the pitch but he also has an unbelievable talent for riling people up.

The excellent Tim Vickery on radio 5, their resident expert on South American football (he lives in Brazil) stated thet that even a Brazilian paper is now counting the times Neymar hits the deck, with and without good reason, for the national team. Tim also stated sections of the Brazilan media say Neymar’s actions seem to be affecting the team performance .

Like any of Mourinho’s succesful teams are not remembered fondly by most football fans , Neymar could have the same effec.

We have had this discussion before and even your misspelling of Neymars name shows your unconscious bias that will always cloud your judgement

Knowing my luck Neymar Jnr will get sent off for diving the morra :-)

Enjoy your time off, I might hit the TSB for lunch at 4pm the morra to watch the 2nd half

  5. Kev j George Delaney is well into his 80s but still manages to get down to the Vogue Bar with a little help from his friends so if you have something to say to him why not come down to Rutherglen and say it to his face. Hh

Gerry, these late lunches are a joy especially when the world cup is on.

I’m up at 6am to take Junior to his work for half six.

The first bus from here to High Bantyre would not get to him to his work in time.

My misspelling of Neymar’s name is a bad habit.

The last time we played Barca when he was subbed before he walked, he gobbed on our pitch six times while he ambled off the pitch while staring at our support as if to say get it right up ye.

Every evening I have a special moment when I treat myself to a ‘Tunnock’s Wafer’.

It’s a highlight of my day and when the going gets tough during maybe a five or six mile run, I think of that moment to come when the World Cup half time whistle is blown and I unwrap that wee chocolate delight and just savour it’s licky lickyness, its bitey biteyness and it’d chewey cheweyness.

100 calories of decadence…all for me!!

And then I realised that I was being selfish. Surely there had to be a way of not only sharing that moment but of involving others who may similarly feel the need for a surreptitious bit of subversive joy.

So tonight I have decided to first, take the wrapper and make a wee sculpture of that coat of many colours, photograph it and …here’s the crackingly clever and philanthropic bit, so don’t wet yer wimple when you hear this…..

I will draw one CQN contributor’s name from a hat and Christen the model after that wordsmith.

Brilliant or what…..I know…It takes a special kind of genius to show the world the true meaning of humane progress…

Suitably inscribed replicas are available to winners at a particularly keen Gorbals price. :)

So without further ado tonight’s INAUGURAL ‘Nom de Tunnock Wrapper Sculpture’ award and our congratulations go to…….

    One’s a gent, one’s a jobbie.

    Therein lies the difference.

Whether the Danish defender got a red card, yellow card or valentines card yer PSG muppet is still a nyaf.
