Dilemma of youth development

1406

I know squad numbers are limited but I’m disappointed Eoghan O’Connell has not been retained. In his performances early last season he displayed the attributes of a modern-day footballing central defender. He has a future in the game and will do well wherever he goes next.

The perennial dilemma of youth development is that while teams want to improve performances NOW, they also need to leave space for worthy development squad candidates to grow into. Kieran Tierney got there, but the truth is, Celtic had been trying to sign a left back for year but were unable find anyone of the necessary standard. If we did, Kieran, Eoghan, would never have had the chance.

What’s the weather in east Kilbride this morning?!

And why doesn’t CQN care about the weather in west kilbride?

    We deserve to know!!!

    (Ok.. so two questions)

I think the MSM UK discovered just how much they matter in the great scheme of things.

Such was the vitriol innuendo and downright lies with which they scorned and impugned Corbyn that even those previously inclined to vote Tory were put off.

That certainly was what I got down here, although still Tory with vastly reduced majorities.

For sure,it swung the previously UKIP vote. Well on its way from Red to Purple then Blue,it swung back-much more than expected-to Red.

I hope this was the last time that any party expects and encourages unelected billionaire newspaper proprietors to do their dirty work for them.

And that they have the courage to report honestly.

I won’t hold my breath, but they should. They are drowning in a sea of utter irrelevance, and by f… they deserve it.

  8. I was referring to what you had predicted previously not the infernce you drew today.

When people have fixed opinions, they always end up with the same outcome e.g.

England votes Tory and Scotland disnae, therefore Scotland needs to become Independent

    &

Scotland has started/ reverted to voting Tory, therefore Scotland needs to become Independent

Auldheid, regarding supporters of other clubs being unified to get the SFA cleaned up.

I have worked with Hearts, Airdrie , Dundee Utd , St Mirren, Motherwell and Thistle fans over the last 5 years.

None of them are interested in what most called o@@ f@@@ tit for tat . Even though I explained to them about the SFA and their inappropriate behaviour re UEFA licence in 2011, i was told that’s typical o@@ f@@m , getting everything for them on a plate and no questions asked.

I was at a family do a few weeks ago. I was speaking to one of my wife’s nephews, a St Mirren fan. He was going on about the o@@ f@@@. I told him the o@@ f@@@ no longer existed . He replied don’t give me that crap , you are all the same and pathetic. I left it at that.

It seems there is no desire by fans of other clubs to get the SFA under control which added to the media and establishment just wanting to move on , makes getting the correct result for the efforts made with Resolution 12, even harder.

  14. Anyways- we have football today even though we are not too enthusiastic about it.

Up to half a dozen Celts could be trying their luck against a far superior English team today. I cannot see a Mulgrew/Berra/Martin defence being able to give Craig Gordon the cover he will need.

The last game showed that Scottish pluck and organisation has no efffect if you cannot defend against simple crosses into the box.

The only thing that people shouldn’t find surprising about the election is that with the Tories it will always be party before country!

    How true.

  16. Staying on will be a disaster for May. Factions of her own party and the public wont stand for a coalition with the bigoted, homophobic and corrupt DUP. Once they realise this and it inflicts further damage on her party the top Tories and the MSM will throw her to the wolves. The only thing keeping her in power is those hell bent on taking the UK out of the EU at any cost. She is their puppet.

As I said in my previous post, fans of other clubs I know hold both us and sevco (they still use what their predeccessors name was) with the same level of contempt.

Through dealing with London in my job, I became friendly with two Chelsea fans , both loathe the Ibrox club, each calls them sevco now and find it incredible no other fans seem interested in getting justice from the SFA over all the EBT & DoS schemes.
