It’s heartening to see Celtic linked with a raft of players over the weekend and encouraging for many but I’d ignore everything you read about a Celtic target this far out from the transfer window opening. All an agent needs to do is post a DVD to Lennoxtown to be able to legitimately link his player to Celtic. The club will also scout up to 100 players a season, enough to keep you busy on the stats sites for hours, but even Ronny doesn’t know who he will be signing at this stage of the season.
After 11 wins in 13 league games Aberdeen’s title challenge inevitably slipped. They’ve won once since February, coming from behind against Motherwell at Pittodrie, as Celtic, Dundee and Partick Thistle have taken points from them. We are at the stage of the season when injuries, suspensions and fatigue kick in. Whereas Celtic were able to add quality to their squad in January, Aberdeen have to work on a tighter budget. That the gap at the top is only seven points, with Celtic having a game in hand, says a lot for the direction of travel at Aberdeen.
If Ronny gets his treble wish, this season’s title will be a lot tighter than the last treble, won at a canter by Martin O’Neill. It was a weaker league back then, Aberdeen were rubbish.
Talking about direction of travel, have you been watching the ebay auction for Hospitality for four for a day at this year’s Open Golf Championship at St Andrews? This is a unique prize and has attracted some incredible support.
The auction is in aid of the Celtic Quick News appeal to build a fourth school kitchen in Malawi for Mary’s Meals. Shuttle transport for the five minute journey to and from the golf course as needed, with beer, Gin and Whisky tastings throughout the day with the master distiller.
You also have the chance to create a unique CQN single malt whisky cask worth potentially £5000 for future CQN charities, and you will receive a bottle of this very special single malt whisky to commemorate the great day when it is bottled in several years.
Eden Mill is Scotland’s newest and most innovative distillery and brewery incorporated in February 2012! Located just 2 miles from the famous Old Course itself it provides a perfect base for hospitality for yourself and 3 friends on a day of your choosing at the forthcoming open golf championship on July 16th to 19th.
But this is so much more than just a day’s hospitality at the home of golf. Before taking to the course to watch, you will enjoy a breakfast roll or two and discuss your perfect single malt whisky with the master distiller.
Whilst you and your friends are enjoying the golf he will seek to surpass your favourite whisky by using the best barley to create the right wash and recommending the right type of barrels for our very own unique CQN 1/4 cask of single malt. A cask which will mature and provide over £5000 of future funding for our charities in a few years’ time.
You will return to the distillery by shuttle bus for lunch and an optional beer tasting and then for afternoon tea with a tutored gin and whisky tasting with the owner capping off a memorable, unique and very special day for your group and for CQN.
My thanks to Eden Mill for their incredible support. You can bid on the auction here.

Just in case anyone may have been or may well be affected in the future,I thought It was worth sharing the following.
I recently applied on behalf of myself and 5 others named on an airline booking to Florida (flight was in 2013), for compensation due to the flight being delayed for over 5 hours. I received word today that we will be compensated to the tune of £446 per person. They tried to fob me off with holiday vouchers but I quoted the European ruling, so they will now pay in cash. Worth looking into if you have been subject to long delays in the past.
The criteria depends on length of delay coupled with distance of flight with the minimum delay being 2 hours or greater.

HaHa..to be honest most parts have changed up here. We sent the ned families down to Ruggy when we had our clean out ;)))

Take back what I said earlier about the mib …… At this stage of the game, Motherwell are all over St mirren
Vogue, haha
Four Green Fields, your posts from Dortmund made me jealous, in a nice way, and greener with envy.
Some guys I know were over in Vienna the last time we played there and then travelled through to Munich the following day and went to the Bayern game that night. They have no real liking of Bayern but they wanted to see the Allianz arena.
They were very impressed with the set up and the way fans were treated at the stadium. It showed how fans should be treated by a club. Going by your earlier posts it sounds similiar in Dortmund.
Celtic is and always will be my and plenty of others’ club but I like to see how other clubs behave in their treatment of their support both in and outside the stadium.
Bernard Ponsonby a clear winner in the leaders debate so far……
That Erwin of Motherwell looks a good player. Saw him on Sportscene the other day. Just scored a good goal against Chick Young’s supposed team.

You’re buying the drinks in the Avenue on Friday.
Well done.

I had similar with delays.
Initial complaint put on hold as all claims were deferred until EU ruling.
Eventually got cash for flight out, but , now ‘ in discussion’ regarding flight back as the ruling doesn’t apply to non EU airlines
In my case flight back was a European airline ticket, on a codeshare, but operated by a US airline.
In my view as I bought ticket from a EU airline, it had a EU flight code and part of leg was operated by an EU airline, then it is eligible for compensation
Not surprised to hear the challenges you had ….chancers the lot of them
PS should add, it is my wife doing the chasing – much more competent than I could ever be.

We moved from Chateau Lait to EK too. Westwood, Windward Road near the football fields.
Just figured out that my parents kept moving us from frontier to frontier. Nae friends and a new school every year. Cases always packed at the front door, trainers there for all of us (scuse me sandshoes) all with the laces undone ready for the quick cheerio.
Go west, go west. Here comes the posse.
BRTH from a wee while ago (lurkin’ whilst packin’) – magically reassuringly sensible summary of today’s proceedings.
dallas dallas where the heck is dallas
Celtic are the only team for me ( as you know ) but as you say its good to see how others operate and to see if Celtic can learn any lessons .
The German treatment of supporters on match day is definitely one area where we can improve whilst increasing the flow of cash into our club , I would rather spend my cash up around Celtic Park in Club operated premises / shops / museum s etc .
We fought them in the Gorbals, we fought them in the mulk…
and forced them to move to govan, to fester and to sulk….hehe

I stayed in Glenacre terrace I knew a lot of people from the Quad

Some arse on BT sport thinks ST. Mirren’s Tesselar did ‘very well’ against James Forrest last Friday.
And here’s me thinking he kicked James off the park with the blessing of the referee.
