It’s heartening to see Celtic linked with a raft of players over the weekend and encouraging for many but I’d ignore everything you read about a Celtic target this far out from the transfer window opening. All an agent needs to do is post a DVD to Lennoxtown to be able to legitimately link his player to Celtic. The club will also scout up to 100 players a season, enough to keep you busy on the stats sites for hours, but even Ronny doesn’t know who he will be signing at this stage of the season.
After 11 wins in 13 league games Aberdeen’s title challenge inevitably slipped. They’ve won once since February, coming from behind against Motherwell at Pittodrie, as Celtic, Dundee and Partick Thistle have taken points from them. We are at the stage of the season when injuries, suspensions and fatigue kick in. Whereas Celtic were able to add quality to their squad in January, Aberdeen have to work on a tighter budget. That the gap at the top is only seven points, with Celtic having a game in hand, says a lot for the direction of travel at Aberdeen.
If Ronny gets his treble wish, this season’s title will be a lot tighter than the last treble, won at a canter by Martin O’Neill. It was a weaker league back then, Aberdeen were rubbish.
Talking about direction of travel, have you been watching the ebay auction for Hospitality for four for a day at this year’s Open Golf Championship at St Andrews? This is a unique prize and has attracted some incredible support.
The auction is in aid of the Celtic Quick News appeal to build a fourth school kitchen in Malawi for Mary’s Meals. Shuttle transport for the five minute journey to and from the golf course as needed, with beer, Gin and Whisky tastings throughout the day with the master distiller.
You also have the chance to create a unique CQN single malt whisky cask worth potentially £5000 for future CQN charities, and you will receive a bottle of this very special single malt whisky to commemorate the great day when it is bottled in several years.
Eden Mill is Scotland’s newest and most innovative distillery and brewery incorporated in February 2012! Located just 2 miles from the famous Old Course itself it provides a perfect base for hospitality for yourself and 3 friends on a day of your choosing at the forthcoming open golf championship on July 16th to 19th.
But this is so much more than just a day’s hospitality at the home of golf. Before taking to the course to watch, you will enjoy a breakfast roll or two and discuss your perfect single malt whisky with the master distiller.
Whilst you and your friends are enjoying the golf he will seek to surpass your favourite whisky by using the best barley to create the right wash and recommending the right type of barrels for our very own unique CQN 1/4 cask of single malt. A cask which will mature and provide over £5000 of future funding for our charities in a few years’ time.
You will return to the distillery by shuttle bus for lunch and an optional beer tasting and then for afternoon tea with a tutored gin and whisky tasting with the owner capping off a memorable, unique and very special day for your group and for CQN.
My thanks to Eden Mill for their incredible support. You can bid on the auction here.

St. Midden are mince, and so is their half-time DJ ….hahahaha
Motherwell’s groundsman looks as though he is YTS . BT just showed him sitting in the stand.
Scott McDonald still caught offside as much & moaning at team mates.
Is Jim Murphy trying to annoy the Huns.First as good as admits he’s a tim by talking about his team against Barcelona. Then on immigration says “the Murphy’s don’t originate from Glasgow and when they first came they weren’t welcome.” I’d check your mail carefully Jim.
Had to laugh at gary Mcallister qoute in the MSM today when talking about them
“A bad pass was greeted with groans of frustration, but now? Three or four passes in a row or the ball being knocked 10 yards to a team-mate is being greeted with a ‘wow.’

For those chasing compansation for flights etc.
I would hazard an educated guess that if you bought your ticket from a European airline and they fulfilled the service by way of a non European partner then that is the airline’s problem not yours.
The contract was with the European airline.
Also, if the payment was made by credit card – get on to the credit card company and kick up merry hell because the merchant account which took the booking and the payment for the booking will be European and the credit card company should be getting their arses kicked in light of the ruling and should be taking up the cudgels on your behalf AND refunding you the money.
Not really my area but seems pretty logical to me.
If all else fails threaten to send photos of your mother in law – that always works.

A bus! I only got on a bus when my da was driving it the 37… I mind jumping of one so he wouldn’t get into trouble because an inspector came on, my da went off his nut at me when he got home from a double shift.
Hard days back then… I tell my kids and they think I’m at it.
67 Heaven…do you mind Rajas?
To me that was Logan’s run when sent for a message… Bassas everywhere from different gangs wanting to give you a kicking….thank god it’s changed.

glendalystonsils,
I think one of them is thon ex-captain of Scotland who never seems to have a good word to say about Celtic: MacAllister.
3 nil Motherwell McDonald
I would rather the current Motherwell team played sevco in a play off, if it comes to that. Former Sligo Town manager Barraclough has them playing better.
With BIg Mick, Pearson and McDonald, they have three players who are not intimidated by playing at Ibrox. However, non-playing forces may play a bigger part in Sevco playing in the top league for the first time.

How come I was still at St Bonnies in Pollmadie when St Doms was open to riff raff like you?
Guys in my class were Tony (Anthony then) Green, Tommy Nicholas, Brian Tiffney, Robert Lockhart, Francis McBrise, Archie Farrell, Archie Richford, John Docherty. Now that I think about I can see why I never made the cut.

We moved from Chateau Lait to EK too. Westwood, Windward Road near the football fields.
Just figured out that my parents kept moving us from frontier to frontier. Nae friends and a new school every year. Cases always packed at the front door, trainers there for all of us (scuse me sandshoes) all with the laces undone ready for the quick cheerio.
Go west, go west. Here comes the posse.

Fourhgreenfeilds, glad you enjoyed your trip to Dortmund, I have been to the stadium but only for an international, the Dortmund fans and the stadium atmosphere are legendary in NRW.
Next time though you have to take in Cologne, the best party city in NRW and also a reasonable football day out for an FC game. I prefer Fortuna Köln myself but that’s just a support the underdog thing.
For atmosphere FC are up with the best of them.
Martybhoy, that would be very nice.
I believe McDonald was prepared to play for the now defunct club before Gordon signed him up.

turned into a bit of a drug den in its final years, and the cooncil
eventually closed it.

My pal and I are going to over to Malaga on second may and they are playing Elche that weekend. Could I pick your brain when you came back regarding where to get tickets if you make the game later this month ? Have tried online but struggling to make any headway. Seemingly their stadium capacity is 30k but they have 26k season books !
