  1. You are joking Gene, my heart is still pounding. I swear to God I was getting dizzy at times during that game. My only bit of analysis is I thought Vic went into a sulk after something Lenny must have said to him, I know he got the goal but I didn’t like the way he seemed to amble around the place. Thought he made very poor effort to stop cross which led to United’s 3rd goal.

Can’t disagree with that…..it’s been a great season, with the bonus of ‘bhuns no more’

  3. Assuming we win the League next week, will NL stick to his plan of letting some players head off on holiday early, with a Cup Final still to play?

  4. Thought MIB was a disgrace particularly towards the end when he ignored blatant fouls on our players. Almost as though he was urging DU forward.

Our players are bound to be tired and weary. How many games have they played this season so far? Taking into account those CL qualifiers as well.

  6. ….Beat Hibs in the Final and lo and behold,

Hampden was covered in Green White and Gold…..

The score takes care of itself..

    The double is on…

Ps Jackie MacNamara is one of the really good guys. Liked him as a hoop..

agreed corkceltic – v67 was shocking for third goal – either he was trying to avoid being sent off or just plain lazy

  9. If every game had that level of nailbiting head-rattling, no one would complain.

I am so glad, and relieved that we won, but what a rollercoaster of a game.

I’m no coach or mgr. so I cannot begin to explain the intricacies of tactics, especially as someone mentioned the amount of tough games we’ve had this season, so we have to win while not performing at 100 per cent, palying against a team for whom a place in the final is just as important as it is to us.

Man, my head is still buzzin’ after that. Priceless.

  10. Would rather win 4-3 than 1-0. That’s the Celtic way. Loved the game today.

    Armageddon is magic.

  11. Don’t think we should complain too much about Ref. There are plenty of Scottish Referees would have been too happy to give a penalty against Wanyama and disallow Common’s 2nd goal.

  12. WONDERFUL WIN

    achieved the Celtic Way.

    Howevva as Kojo would interject

Craig Thomson must be the most incompetent, useless referee in the game.

His performance today was a continuation of the lowly heights he achieved midweek.

We won and we must raise the continual poor, biased, inept standards shown by a number of Dallas’ prodigies this season.

To be frank this rises to the level of interfering with the spectacle of the game and can and does have a profound influence on the outcome.

I would bar Thomson from being within 50 yards of a whistle.

The most galling aspect of it is that he is probably earning more than many of the players do in the SPL.

    Rant over

  13. Where to start?

Well done in getting us to the final.

We played against a United side that fielded a 16 and a 17 year old.

A side costing approximately a tenth of ours to run.

What has happened since we overcame a similar deficit against Barca?

We are a very ordinary side.

The big guy peeling off onto the wee guy is the oldest tactic in the book.

Yet we fall for it , time and time again.

Apart from Commons we have not one player of consistent quality.

I am sick to death watching gung Ho full backs.

    That being said.

Kelvin Wilson is a big Jim Goodwin.

Totally and utterly frustrated, but delighted to win at the same time.

    I love Lenny the man.

His portrait hangs in my diningroom.

But for me he is still a rookie manager , with 10 times the resources of his regular opponents.

He overcame such odds in Europe and punched above his weight , but domestically we have been very poor.

Winning the league over the length of a season is a gimme for any Celtic manager, with the financial advantage we have.

I will get slaughtered for this by the usual Happy clappers .

But just look the drop in our attendances and income.

    The other positive from today.

New world Hide n Seek champion.

    Gary Hooper.

cannot believe the commentators didnt mention how much the wind was a factor

    ——————————–

I don’t know about wind being a factor but I had to visit the wee room three times during the game and once at half time. Bladder was as active as my sphincter.

  17. What an effort. Both sides gave it their all and football fans were enthralled. When both teams play attacking football, defences become vulnerable but, apart from the real experts on here, most of us prefer this kind of football. So hats doffed to Neil and Jackie for going for it.

A certain type of Celtic fan dismisses all SPL opposition and sees only 5-0 scorelines as acceptable. If these same fans had played football at any reasonable level, they would be aware just how good a player has to be to play for ANY professional outfit. To play in the SPL, a player has to be very, very good. Celtic players should be better than the others(and mainly are) but still have to work hard to overcome talented and gritty opposition.

Celebrate a fine victory over a good Dundee United side and enjoy the positive influence both semis should have on Scottish Football. Some other Clubs are going through difficult times, you know 0:-) Be glad we have what we have.

Strange that so many supposed ‘Celtic men’ seem to be praisng Lenny’s Lions through gritted teeth.

    :¬(((

  19. No Wanyama or Kayal for the final

    Brown still injured ??

Leaves us with …hide and seek Ledley …and who ?

  20. The Battered Bunnet on

Another mental cup semi at Hampden. Another 7 goals to follow yesterday’s.

Thought wee Forrest did increasingly well as the game progressed, which is something of a surprise given the lack of matches he’s had this year. Well done.

Delighted we have a Cup Final to close a terrific season, but…

…Beram’s too old now for that level of thoughtlessness. I rate him in the central mid area, and with Victor suspended for the final it was a chance for Beram to show the maturity and discipline required in that position.

Really disappointed with him. He knew what the requirement was, and within 5 minutes of coming on had blown it.

He’ll now sit in the stands with the rest of us next month, looking on as our team, absent the midfield anchors, tries to win the Cup.

    Silly. Silly. Silly.

  21. Half drunk, don’t know about u ghuys but I was never comfortable in that game.

Thought Forest , Izaguerre , Ambrose , Commons , Vic and Kelvin were fine.

    Hooper ?????????

    Anyway , well done lads

    Hail Hail

  22. Big Georges Fan Club on

Corkcelt. I agree re: the possible penalty – that would have been very easy to give. Late on there was a series of decisions – fouls on Stokes mainly – that he ignored. Some of those you would probably have a different view of if you were a United fan, though, so certainly not the worst performance I have seen.

With the non-penalty and Commons’ goal, United would probably have more grounds for complaint overall than us.

You can’t seriously be happy when CFC defend as they did today …..we were abject

  24. spikeysauldman on

Ntassoolla – not at the top of Quarrywood it isnt – my big tree which was halved in two during the last big storm is floundering about like Wilson and Ambrose – pretty soon it will fall to the ground (where Kayal will by lying no doubt)

  25. TheOriginalSadiesBhoy on

I confidently predict that Gary Hooper will still be with us next season and that during the summer he will sign the contract on offer to him. His was a very lazy performance today. He. Strolled around unless the ball was delivered to his feet. He failed miserably to put any opponents under any kind of pressure even when they were only a yard or two away, giving them time to control the ball and pick a pass without any threat to them. Compare and contrast to Stokes who on two occasions chased back into our own half to dispossess opponents and tidy up slack work. Stokes also burst a gut to get into position to score with his great header. I am bitterly disappointed with Hooper’s attitude. It would appear he believes his own publicity and is now a prima donna.

Kelvin Wilson also gave me the jitters any time he went for a loose ball along with an opponent especially Mackey-Stevens. He always looks as if he is likely to be turned in such situations and needs to learn how to use his body strength to greater advantage.

I thought Izzy, Efe, Victor, Kris, Mikael, Stokesy and Sammi were our main men.

    Well done The Bhoys!

  26. Well done to the bhoys and cheers to all here for the updates

Normally we don’t get radio coverage of our game down here but 5live did today and it sounded a great advert for our game only spoiled slightly by the FUD that is Craig Levine being a “Hundit”

    Cheers again to ye all

Just home from hampden… that was woeful imho

    Hooper …. was he playing.

    Forrest.. lazy wee boy.

Defence was terrible. . Better when changed

Midfield… willo booming flood ran the show

Thomson. .. hunbelievable… tiger woods got his ball placement closer.

No injury time when we got a corner after 14:30 of extra time…. 2 mins at the end of second period !!!

Bbbbbbbut … were in the final so … come on you bhoys in green

  28. As you say Snake they didn’t reshow it so its hard to say whether it was a penno or not. I thought near the end the Ref was giving them the nod on 50/50’s ok and 2 mins injury time in a 15 minute half was a bit much. I know Sammi went down for about 30 seconds but that was it.
