Hope you are doing well and the minx hasn’t spent the pay rise before you’ve got it.

The diaries of Bobby Sands are well appreciated every year I try and copy and paste but each day reading it goes out of my head…. as a bhoy at secondary school in the 80s the hunger strikes caught my attention and reading the diary on here opens my mind every year … same words give differing thoughts every year I for one hope you keep this Cqn tradition going …. it’s a learning curve every year

Well done on your bet GFTB,
Regarding the game, I think everybody agrees the game was dire and Celtic’s performance was laboured & error strewn, I have no problem with anyone criticising the display but a few were saying it was obvious that the Players were not playing for Lenny. I thought those observations were shite & the team reaction after the goal & after the game showed just how much it meant to them. Particularly loved Scott Bain’s reaction,
Anyways I have had too much Whiskey & Guinness so I’m signing off for the night, think I’ll watch the goal & a few different clips of the celebrations maybe 15 or 20 times more & then go to bed.
Credit where credit is due, I thought Johnny Hayes did well today, hit the by line several times and deliveted a gew decwnt balls into tbe box.
In ither news, 10 points clear w8th 8 to go. Win our next game and it’s 13 ahead and 7 to go. Should Sevco lose either of their next 2 (Motherwell and Hearts) and we could win it before the split. HH

At 90mins today I told my good lady o was staying away fae CQN maybe am the weak one but I canny be bothered with Celtic fans that enjoy being unhappy … when I saw Neil celebrating like a fan I saw somebody that had the same emotions as me… being a Celtic fan should be a privilege and I realise winning is obviously better but do you know what some of our best times have been when we weren’t wining …. we should all enjoy these good times because one day they might not be so good ?

And I’d speculate there could be a bit of confusion in the transition:
NL’s “Get it forward a bit quicker” might be interpreted as high punts up to the forwards – none of whom can yet smother and shield it like a Sutton or Hartson (nor control like a Henke).
Random thoughts: Mikey is not a creative midfielder, and coughed up heaps of possession. JT seems to be just about a serviceable RB on this kinda showing. Benko is not a pressing mid, either (where he ended up sitting).
Delighted for Eddy and Jamesy; very lean times until their moment of glory. 8 is still in full focus.
BTW; great St Pats day here; visits to local Masjid then quick Guinness with MM and his peninsula bhoys.

“BUT, and its a big but. I will repeat, whatever the instruction was 2nd half today, it was not effective.”
BUT, and it’s an even bigger but, we won, so I guess it could have been even more ‘not effective’, so somehow, and I truly don’t know how, I’ll get to sleep tonight. Maybe it’s because of all the games over all the years where we’ve played some pretty scintillating stuff at times and ended up losing.
GFTB on
Nit sure what others think but Mikael Lustig is pretty decent at centre half reads the game well and has actually played there with Sweden many times
Giving Lenny the benefit of the doubt he hasn’t had the usual pre season run in a new manager gets to sort out a style of play etc
You also have to think about whether or not a new manager can come in, 4/5 ths of the way through a season and start changing things. It’s not easy. Rock and a hard place stuff in fact.
It looks on the face of it like there’s some transitional stuff going on but just as likely there’s a continuation of some of the struggles we saw all season from the team under Brendan apart from two really productive periods.
THat said, the mark of the team is now digging out results late on. That was missing early season. This also builds confidence.
Looking forward to the focus a huns game brings. I think we will skelp them.

Gftb- I think Lustig should see his career out as a CB. He’s got most of the attributes.
———
You can’t push the game into the opposition half and have centre backs with no pace. It done for Mark Warburton and will do for anyone else. We nearly got done today because of it.
How far ahead were we this time last year? It was closer I think?

So are you giving Neil praise or just saying its BR’s team …. can I just say our away form has been minging this season and Neil has now won at Tynecastle, Easter Rosd & now Dens am pretty sure his predecessor didn’t win 3 away games in the trot this season… I might be wrong but pretty sure am not
David17 – not saying we should be going with him as a first choice CB. Mika personally no longer has the legs for a full back role over the course of a season. He could do a job covering at cb.
Gftb – I’m saying Neil has been put in a really tough position. No better man for it. His away record since coming in is unquestionably better than BR this season. Not pretty but effective. Oddly enough BR away performances more often than not this season were neither pretty nor effective – so I guess I’m praising neilly.

Is he the best coach ? I don’t know… if he fails he will be out the door …. I want any Celtic manager whether it’s John Barnes, Wim Jansen, Tommy Burns or Ronny to do well… at this point I think it’s Neils job to lose and I hope and pray he is here for years to come … because that means he is successful
