I’m more confident of making progress in europe under nfl than br.

    ——–

Realistically we were still going to win the League even if we dropped points today. Such is the sub standard opposition whom in the grand scheme of things are an irrelevance despite the lording over the Huns and celebrating their every dropped point like a World Cup win. How far we are ahead and how far we were ahead last season is not really relevant. Whats important is the direction of travel. This summer will be instructive. We are falling further and further behind on the European scene which will be harmful to the Club in the short, medium and long term. The Board need to decide if we want just to stay ahead of a team called Rangers or show real ambition and realise the enormous potential of the Club. Get the second part right and the first part is a formality, and it will bring handsome financial rewards in prize money and player transfers. It is not an exact science and cannot be guaranteed but i think we need to start by preparing properly for the qualifiers and improving the mentality at the club in terms of attitude to European football. It is all too easy to point to other Leagues awash with money and to say we cannot compete. We have been shown it can be done.

We lost a dear brother last week due to a tragic accident.

Off to mass to pray for us all to be given the strength to endure.

    Thanks and God bless.

Live life in the present; you’re so right.

And yes, we left MM and Paddymac holding court (and holding up the bar).

I thought both Lustig and Ajer were guilty of ball watching which made an uncomfortable pairing .

Neither seemed to be certain of who was responsible for particular opponents or none.

Bain bailed them out in the first half.

Someone at the back has to be given a leadership role to designate the responsibility of each player and to call the line.

Fair point but am ok with a goalie fling his job and centre halves “ ball watching” and we don’t lose goals … it’s no the best but no the worst

who-ever posted that pish is neglecting all the variables that go into winning a league…

48, LOL. What happens if we do 10? How many will stop going and lose interest? What is the next milestone and landmark? On the continent, i heard a wiser man the me say we are now seen as an easy 3 points. Is that Peter Lawwells legacy?

  11. I actually think some “Celtic” fans will question Neil Lennon, some Celtic fans want Neil to fail, some Celtic fans think Neil isn’t progressive … play station managers or is or fitba manager … away and gie me peace Neil Lennon wants what every other Celtic fan wants ….. let the play station managers post on a blog am afraid Neil has to do it in real life …

8 games left 10 points clear …. sometimes the facts don’t lie ?

    Pal.

    It was 2am for me.

    I seriously stooped watching .

I just listened and hit CQN . Too painful to watch .

Then my sense of relief overwhelmed other emotions.

I still fear the huns at Celtic Park . Hence my relief at the extra two points.

They`ll just do what they did last time. Very effectively.

Hope Lenny has got that game on his mobile .

  15. Macjay 11.46pm

Macjay apologies mate I just expect others to be on the same wavelength as me (I wouldn’t wish that on anybody) ….

Neil is in the driving seat and I would trust Neil more than his predecessor

Hope all is good with the family a big Hail Hail fae ML5 ?

  16. GFTB

I was not criticizing Lustig .

Just pointed out that it did not make a comfortable pairing.

Both he and Ajer chased the same ball and often neither picked up a man.

I have never been one to call for Lustig to be gone.

I have posted that i think he tries to compensate for lack of pace by staying to far off man allowing dangerous crosses .

I hold the opinion he should be tighter to stop this.

Bain has been brilliant which i have often stated.

I have said all season for the type of game we play that Bain would be my choice over Gordon.

I think both are excellent shotstoppers but Bain has additional skills suited to today’s game.

Bitton i admittedly don’t like and have always stated footballing reasons for why.

This has often drawn a pack mentality who don’t attempt to debate the points but respond with personal insults.

I think you are running with the message this blog perpetrates that anyone who does not toe the party line is a negative poster though you have always been cordial in our disagreements.

On SC they have differing opinions and agree to disagree but the pack mentality of CQN and often personal insults does not exist there to the credit and tolerance’s of MAHE and BMCUP.

    Hail Hail

  17. Just in and reading back

GG- Condolences on your sad loss

HT & Ard Macha- The continued reminders oF the words written by Bobby Sands serves us well and I thank you both for undertaking the task

Fool Time Whistle @ 8.57- I appreciate your reply in the spirit it was written and I obviously got some of your original intent wrong and apologise for that. Your last post was full of uncommon common sense.

I also thought he would be a great signing.

Saw his first game against Falkirk and he looked. Like just what we need to make Liam Brady’s vision work.

Great at bringing the ball out of defence, leading to us scoring a tremendous footballing goal that day.

Disappointingly, he turned out to be a spineless and poor defender with a terrible fitness record.

But I also thought Stuart Slater was going to be a player.

  21. Fan a tic 11.56pm

Again just my opinion I put yourself in the unhappy Celtic fan category

I have met BMCUWP a few times and I would put him in the same category and as for Mahe his posts on here said he wouldn’t pass Celtic onto his kids because of all the cheating … even though we don’t like it cheating is rife in football ….. by the way I like SC at times but it’s like a wee gang of Celtic fans that don’t appreciate what they have …. I have stopped posting as it’s fill it really good people who only want to be unhappy :-)

  22. Ruggyman’s post is also a good observation on some of the reasons we got bogged down in the 2nd half.

The pressure to “Do something! Anything!” when you are being frustrated by dogged defending can lead you to take an over-direct approach. The number of balls delivered from deep areas were meat and drink to Kusunga and O’Dea. We needed more crosses from shallower angles.

Neil spent the first few weeks telling us that he wanted to scale down the faffing about at the back.

Now he wants us to get it forward quicker and with bravery (incidentally, so did Brendan) but some of our players find this task difficult.

I genuinely believe that Neil will try to keep it both more direct and more simple and will not attempt wholesale changes until the league is mathematically secured.

Neil Lennon is no mug- he nows a thing or two about winning at Celtic.

  23. Gary Gillespie 12.05am

Stuart Slater in his first game against the Huns at Celtic Park was outstanding he nearly scored a cracking overhead kick st the Celtic end … the wee mans confidence was done that day ….

SETTING FREE THE BEARS FOR RES. 12 & OSCAR KNOX on 18TH MARCH 2019 12:09 AM

The high crosses were meat and drink.

Who was going to be on the end of high crosses? Their defenders. Every time.

The low hard cross / pass from the byline produced the result.

What we needed was variation. What we got for 95 mins. was same old predictability.

    Mackay

The crosses from deep were a marked feature of the 2nd half. There were not many like that in the first half. We failed to penetrate in the first half for other reasons.

    No Tom Rogic.

  27. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

Our whole family, and we are a large one, are devastated.

The time gap to perform an autopsy and release his body is preventing closure with no definite date able to be set for the funeral.

His wife and daughter are distraught and the rest of us are stunned.

    Again thank you.

To fill our ground in the coming seasons we need a winning team , but winning in style that our fans want ( and equally importantly pay ) to watch.

We need to play football the Glasgow Celtic way. This is not entitlement it is reality and our management team know it.
