I thought it was the emerging influence of Nir Biton as a central midfield influence who transformed Celtic against Hearts on Sunday; he looked that good. If anything, Celtic were better in his absence last night, more fluid, more incisive, against a better team.
It’s all about shape. The correct shape gives players time on the ball when they need it, allows them to look industrious, not static, and makes them difficult to counteract. The only two questions are: can we maintain it, and when was the last time a Celtic team controlled the ball like this?
Forget about trying to maintain this in Barcelona, that’s far too risky, but if we can play like this at Tynecastle and Fir Park we can do so anywhere else in Scotland. Don’t think we’ve played like this since the Centenary Season.
It’s difficult to interpret the vandalism at Fir Park last night. As Celtic fans we don’t have a point of reference for this stuff. “Had enough. Won’t be back at another away game”, was the verdict of a friend I spoke to, who has probably missed no more than 40 domestic away games in the last 40 years. The proportion of Celtic fans who would never vandalise seats is well above 99%, but there’s a new and unwelcome phenomenon in British football and Celtic have the best views in the country.
Getting back to more familiar ground, The Kano Foundation asked me to pass on this message:
“The Kano Foundation World Cup 2014 Predictor
Friends,
2013 has been a world class year for The Kano Foundation. We’ve had our first ever bucket collection, held our 3rd annual dance, welcomed groups from across Scotland, England and Ireland, and last but by no means least we will welcome our 2000th child to Celtic Park. All this would not be possible without your unwavering support.
As we move towards the new year, The Kano Foundation are always keen to continue our work while bringing you the fans new and exciting ways to support us. The fabulous prizes on offer at our Golf Day in September are just one example.
To keep up this form, we are delighted to announce a very special competition ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
We will be running a predictor competition unlike many others. At first reading our two part predictor is very similar to others where you enter the scores and winners for the 72 games.
However, we are also offering an unbelievable bonus prize fund of £10,000 for anyone who can correctly predict the outcome of all 48 group games . Yes, that’s correct – £10,000 to be shared amongst all entrants who can correctly predict the general outcome (winner or draw) for the all the group games.
In order to run both competitions we are asking entrants to make a one-off donation of £10. From the funds raised 50% will go as a donation to TKF with the remaining 50% available for prizes.
With just 100 entrants, not only can we raise a £500 prize fund for the predictor, we can also take over 200 kids to a game at Celtic Park. A tidy reward for a just few minutes brain effort!
All you need to do to enter is register you interest by email at:
wcpredictor@thekanofoundation.com Please include TKFWCPred as the email/paypal subject and tell us your user/team name so we can verify your entry. If you’ve not got enough room, enter as much detail as you can and tell us what you’ve done so we help.
Then make your payment into The Kano Foundation bank account (30-13-01 00989961 through Paypal or by sms by texting KANO11 £10 to 70070 – remember to include your name/email address.
Visit our predictor webpage (coming soon) to find more details and follow your progress
Once again, we hope we can rely on your support to make this predictor a success for us in terms of fundraising and for potentially making one of you £10,000 richer!
Thank You
The Kano Foundation”
Congratulations to the Celtic fans who run and support The Kano Foundation, our community is rightly proud of the. Register your interest by emailing: wcpredictor@thekanofoundation.com.
Less than one day to bid on bid on the charity auction for lunch at Cinc Sentis in Barcelona. Another bounty from the excellent reputation Celtic fans have. If you’re going out next week, treat yourself………

I sure do hope so.
And I intend to >}
I don’t know when I will be back, things have changed re my trips back there, I no longer need to do them, sadly in one way, and delighted in another.
The last time I was in there, the barman was a bloke from down south, his name was Kurt I recall, the Mrs loved him, he gave her extra big measures of Tequila, far too many years ago.
Take care

Great yarn.

Most post that I read weren’t denying the acts of wanton vandalism but were trying to put it in perspective or point out that it may not have actually been GB members who were responsible.

I think the GB are poorly led and would benefit from an older budweiser heid. :)

What is the GB’s purpose?
How far are they meeting their aims?
How realistic are those aims whatever they are.
some bizzare corner/goalkick decisions given as well as the 2 penalty incidents
CQN is still the best Celtic blog on the net as far as I’m concerned I am not the most eloquent of posters or incisive or inspiring I find I get that from other posters on here which makes its so enjoyable. Which is why CQN is still my first port of call when I am looking for news about our club
I have now met numerous posters outwith the blog and I have found them all to be the most curteous, funny, silly & generous people I have met, in my Celtic supporting life in fact CQN has changed the way I support my Club and its been for the better
Before i found this blog when dustybin was still around:) I was one of those fans who believed that what was printed about us in the media was the truth as I had grown up reading it every day and that journalists never lied ,boy did i get that wrong big time
CQN opened up my eyes to what really was the truth about what was really happening in Scottish football by god it did & how gullible did i feel for swallowing the smsm line
This blog has been a positive for Celtic fans like me & I hope many more come on board and find like I did 7 or 8 years ago theres no place better to read debate, argue, all things Celtic yes there will be timposters who try to bring this site down to there level, but I believe there are to many good Celtic men on here to let that happen

TET and West CSC are both hun tabloid infiltrators
FACT
appreciate the sarcasm
but this goes one the fundamental problems with blogging/emailing
what comes across as witty/charming/ironic/sarcastic in real life between people comes across as nasty/insulting/bitter when written down in plain english without the human interaction to qualify it
so alot of the puns/jokes/wise cracks made here are misconstrued as abuse
all people on here need to seriously reread what they write before they post for fear of giving offence

There was a time when people knew who was being sarcastic and having a joke and who was being serious
Thats how the whole ” are you a hun/you must be a hun” started
Dont lose sight of the fact that its only a forum/(or blog as some insist on calling it) and really a bit of light hearted banter is what its all about
Now about that banner (insert smiley face etc)

With respect, the whataboutery has everything to do with it.
had the msm been fair and honest, I would very much doubt there would be the need for blogs/forums, is that Ok, like this, they have destroyed themselfs with their lies and not reporting the truth.
The fact that our support shamed themselfs is evident, but it doesn’t disguise the FACT that others are as bad or worse, and it needs to be told, whether some like it or not.
A few seats get damaged, the media report 10K, feckin uproar in the media.
The hun destroy a brand new pitch, 450K of damage, a token response.
200 seats damaged by the well support last week, nothing in the media.
I could go on all night at this.
Perspective.

Watched MOTD there and saw two goals conceded by Guzan and Lloris (Villa and Spurs keepers) who came sailing out of the 6 yard box to go for a cross and failed to make it.

Agree – doesn’t matter a jot that Motherwell wrecked New Douglas Park, or that the Sevconians damaged someone else’s artificial surface, etc.
That’s what they do – we should be bothered about what we do. If other folk do damage and and it isn’t reported – so what? Doesn’t make the damage we cause any less.
If the damage was accidental, and due to faulty seat design – and I know some on here made that assertion – then the fans who were effected should be complaining directly to Motherwell FC – unsafe seating is a serious concern.
However, if it wasn’t accidental, then what does it matter to us what Sevco did in Falkirk, or what Motherwell did in Hamilton, or what the Rangers fans did in Sunderland / Newcastle / Barcelona / Manchester/ etc? None of that is anything at all to do with us.
Don’t use what fans of other clubs have done, or allow what the media have or haven’t reported, cloud what is our own problem – it is nothing to do with anyone else, it is nothing to do with protesting against injustice, it doubt if it was Chelsea fans – it is a ‘Celtic’ problem. It is our issue – we need to accept it, and deal with it.

Well said, we will always have varied opinions, that is what Paul’s site is all about.
There are a few posters thinking the (newbees) are bringing the site down…maybe i come into that bracket.
New blood and their experiences in life is why I come on here, as being a lurker for a long time the site needed more outside input.
The long time time posters are the bread and butter another reason I read Paul’s blog as the friendship is plain to see.
The one thing we all have in common, is our joy in watching Celtic win in the Celtic way.
TET – don’t despair.
There are two clear issues.
One, I hope we can address ourselves. Even if the damage at Fir Park was not reported, I, and the damage to the pitch at Falkirk was – I would feel the same – we have a problem and it needs sorted, irrespective of what is or isn’t covered in the press.
The bigger issue, of course, is the msm – I agree with everything you say about their reporting. I just don’t think it should disguise our own problems.

For heavens sake, have not heard from you for yonks. You are one of the original posters on here as I am. Some site now eh? As you say, as I do, still the best Celtic Site on the planet, and will never get fed up saying that, BUT, the reason the site has become compromised, is that more and more anti Celtic bloggers are emerging, which is why the ole core are dropping into the background. Who can blame us, who really gives a toss?

My son Emailed MFC today to say that him and his two mates accidently damaged his seat when Efe scored. They fell on it and the back broke. He told them the seat number re the stub number, he apologised and offered to pay for the damage.
