EDOUARD AT THE DOUBLE – AGAIN

ODSONNE EDOUARD took his goal tally for the France Under-21 international side to an impressive six in three games with two in his nation’s 5-0 win over Azerbbajin last night.

It was the Celtic striker’s third double in three appearances since stepping up to this level.

The 21-year-old Hoops star was unstoppable as he struck twice in the first-half of the Euro Under-21 qualifier.

Edouard claimed four goals in last month’s friendly double header as he made his debut for Les Blues after knocking at the door the previous season.

The Hoops marksman, who claimed another double in last season’s Scottish Cup Final win over Hearts to seal the historic treble treble, is becoming one of the hottest properties in European football and the next stage will be promotion to the full international squad where he will team up with former Parkhead team-mate Moussa Dembele.

Edouard cost the eight-in-a-row champions just over £9million when he joined from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2018.

He persuaded the Hoops hierarchy to break their transfer record after his season-long loan the previous term.
