Celtic have activated a clause in their loan deal for Odsonne Edouard (20) with Paris Saint-Germain to sign the player on a four-year permanent contract. The deal will cost the club an initial £4.5m but the add-ons which follow will soon make the deal the club’s highest transfer fee paid.
To give some perspective, Celtic last broke their transfer fee record with the £6m purchase of Neil Lennon in 2000.
Watching Odsonne develop during his loan period has been an education. Brendan Rodgers put Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths on the bench to allow Odsonne the game time he needed to grow. His early-season rustiness was history by March, when he came off the bench when Celtic were down to 10 men at Ibrox, brushed aside what defences there was, to score a memorable winner.
The last player to match our record transfer fee was John Hartson in 2001. Like John then, Odsonne is third choice striker, so the work does not stop here.
Great business, well done all concerned.

love the fact the VAR got it wrong, Swiss goal never a goal …. hope I live to see VAR in Scotland, would be so funny to see, or not to see :-) :-) :-)
Twist n Turns enjoy your (partial) retirement when it comes
On tonight’s performance in the centre of the Swiss defence I would say Shar looks like a bargain at £3.5m buy out clause. Hope rumours are true.

That’d be wonderful.
Just let me know which meeting suits. Avoid mid to end July. I’m taking Chris and my granddaughter away for a week.
I can pick you up at airport no problem if necessary.
My twins are looking forward to meeting you in Dublin shortly. I’ve warned them if they let you buy just one drink I’ll disown them:-)

I will have a look at the fixtures and get back to you.
Of course all depends on the Mother in law situation. She is still intensive care
..though doctors seem a little more upbeat about her chances
Its been a roller coaster few weeks

If the big Swiss centre half is available at £3.5m some no mark mob fae the championship will offer him £50k a week…. canny see Celtic signing anybody at the WC unless the deal(s) are already done
What is it within me that has turned me into a huge Tunisia supporter for tomorrow?
Strange phenomena!

I’m sorry I didn’t know that. Hope everything works out for the best.
If I can be if any help at anytime just shout.

No problem
Hopefully she will pull through.
I will be in touch about the Races. Maybe Angel Gabriel would be interested
Twist n Turns
All good here, got a few quid and a couple of freebies on the Samba Bhoys to hopefully get a few extra Euros for the holidays, a wee point tonight doesn’t matter in the long run as long as they get their noses in front on the 15th July :-)
The World Cup is no sprint more of a month long chase :-)

Thought Schaer played well enough this evening, much of the work was done in front of him but some good last line defending too.

I can’t get into this World Cup!
No idea why. Kids are all over it but I’m nonplussed.
Perhaps as it progresses I’ll gain more interest.

I don’t think I’ve had the pleasure .
He’d be most welcome .
Shakiri reminds me of Lubo. A poor man’s Lubo Moravcik though.

TWISTS N TURNS.
I missed most of last season due to ill health I lost more than 5 stones in 4 months, every time I ate some thing I brought it back up within ten minutes,I never saw a doctor for about a month, and he gave me hell for not contacting him sooner,I always thought I would get better Typical me, stubborn idiot.when I told the doctor that I have losing weight, he took blood samples and sent them away to the lab at the Hospital and it took them a while to find out what was wrong it took about 3 months for the Dr to get the results from the hospital and in the four months I lost over 5 stone, one thing good came out of it was I lost my Diabetes,I was taking 8 tablets and two injections a day,so it was a blessing in disguise now I only take 8 tabs per day for other ailments.
It cost me a fortune to buy more clothes, but I’m getting better slowly,I must be fine as I renewed my season ticket for this season coming,

You are looking great and in top form these days. Whatever you are smokin it is working. The Wonderstuff. Glad wee Billy got his cannabis oil on script. He has opened the floodgates the wee hero. God bless him.

Also like wee Shaquiri, the other shakira is no the worst either :-) low centre of gravity with the Swiss one reminds us of Lubo but the Stoke one couldnae lace Lubo’s boots…. loved Lubos reaction after each of his goals against the original cheats in the 5-1 game …. as our Shug Keevins stated we should have pushed the boat out for John Spencer ? Instead of some unknown 33yr old …. journalist ma bahookie !
Oldtim
Bloody hell. That must’ve been a worrying time, but seems you’ve emerged stronger.
You’re Doctor was correct D. Any issues you need to get in there ASAP but then I’m being somewhat hypocritical as I often avoid the doc myself.
Good to hear you’ve renewed your season ticket. You wouldn’t want to miss a treble treble and 8 in a row eh!
Need a centre back a right back and we might surprise some folks this year D. In CL I mean. Domestically we will be too strong I feel.
Should be a good battle for 2nd 3rd and 4th again between Dons, Hibs and Sevco. Hearts might improve a bit too.
Good job BR is in charge and not me. I’d be going back to the old 2-3-5 with a frontline of Forrest, Edouard, Moussa , Griff and Morgan :-))
Draw one of them on the ould bus sweep and you’d be laughing eh:-)
DELANEYS DUNKY.
I’ve hardly had a wink of sleep for a week,I can’t get my medication, I’ll have to come to Glasgow to get a fix, I can’t get any of the doctors.

Shakira reminds me of gorgeous rumps.
Which reminds me of Lubo using his arse to trap a falling ball. Never seen anything like it before or since. The Lubottomy was born. Wee Slovak Genius. A Gift From God.
DD
That was a sublime piece of football skill. Artistry.
Lubo was a genius. Him and Henk would’ve graced any team in the world.

You need it for medical reasons.
Canada has just legalised it. Scotland soon
Keep on keepin on DavieBhoy.

Thankfully they graced the greatest pitch on Paradise turf, and played for the great Glasgow Celtic. If Henke and Lubo and Danny are not in your greatest ever fitba team, then you are not a Tim. ????????

Lubo & his bahookie am sure was against the wee huns fae the east … although am very rarely correct on these things :-)
I am the opposite of whatever Tontine Tim or Dallas are …. I have the memory of a newt, but at least a Tim newt :-)
I stood in the Jungle from 1973 to 1979, towards the Huns End, with my uncles and cousins from Dalmuir and Clydebank.
Will never forget that feeling, aged 13, when the back of your leg turns warm, and you realise somebody’s pishing on you, and it’s regarded as normal.
KevJungle – not everybody likes that as part of the matchday experience. Nor do they like the glint in the air that means incoming bottles, or the launching of bottles in reprisal.
So when you get all nostalgic about the good old Jungle days, remember that stuff, just for balance.
Hope you’re grand anyway.
DELANEYS DUNKY.
Will do.
By the way I thought you and wee Dan was going to give me a visit, it hasn’t materialised yet, I may be have a Barbecue on Saturday depending on the weather, I will miss one of my Chefs this year his Wife K decided to go on holiday instead, but there is always plenty of drink, if you come you can have first taste of Almores present he bought me.
Gerry, you’re right . It was against the Gorgie huns without the bus fare .
Gerry
Indeed it was v them

I think Lubo was the best I had ever seen, pity it was only for 18 months, broke my heart when he retired, imagine him along with Hendrik for a few years.
GFTB
Your memory is either as good or bad as mine. I was at the game. I am sure it was v the Gorgie huns. Disnae matter. Lubo Moravcik was a genius. Naka was too. Another genius. Tom Rogic is getting there soon.
