Emilio back on form ahead of Camp Nou

693

Over the summer I could frequently be heard muttering, “We need a left back”.  Despite returning from injury at the turn of the year, Emilio Izaguirre was unable to command a regular starting place in the team.  His occasions starts provided evidence why.  With Charlie Mulgrew the most authoritative central defender in the squad the left back slot looked like our most vulnerable position.

Emilio’s early form this season was no better, especially in the Champions League qualifiers, but recent weeks has seen the player return to his very best.  His confidence seems to have returned as he is taking opponents on with purpose which had been missing for over a year.

On this form, we can look forward to seeing him test himself at the Camp Nou.

were is the missing celtic supporters ,sunday game not a couple of hundred ,more like 8 or 9 thousand not there, why is that, maybe its time for some new faces in the celtic boardroom, and other places, not coaches or playing staff,i think there is to many old faces in positions at celtic, who are not up to it anymore,

What people need to remember is that we are in the midst of a recession and money is tight.

I take it you and BMCUW will not be going in then for a wee refreshment?!

    HH!!

  9. Lustig, Ambrose, Wilson and Emilio were all very solid yesterday. Wilson was blameless for the incident that almost led to a score for Hearts in the first half as he was blatantly fouled and should have been awarded a free kick.

Ambrose made his only mistake in the final seconds which almost brought an equaliser. It would not be Celtic if we didn’t get the jitters at the death.

  12. Oh my goodness…I am so ashamed and embarrassed to be a Celtic fan. The latest news on Reporting Scotland this evening…the Celtic manager has been charged….wait for it!…..with using his phone while driving.

Oh the shame, Just as well he doesn’t owe tens of millions in tax and accused of cheating over a ten year period.

How will we ever live this down?. They even had video of him at the training ground. Argghhh!

    Hi Jungle Jim

Note keeper lost at half time blinded in one eye and bleeding from mouth, also two players booked for diving not shown on highlights….editing a clever tool…

    Hail Hail

I’m sure there were 2 trumpeters sitting together right behind the Lisbon Lion goal.

Can anyone confirm this , I also saw the Craig Thompson twins reffing the game.

  18. Interesting point about illegally registered huns playing for scotland, would that mean
