Extra week training in July has huge impact

2173

I was concerned about a trip to Estonia after hearing Hearts struggle in their home leg against Estonian opponents last week, so news that Gibraltar’s Lincoln Red Imps beat Flora Tallinn was welcome, although the concern was tempered as news arrived that Hearts were three goals up in the away leg.

The lesson here is that in July, one more week’s training has a huge impact on performance.

Brendan Rodgers will be happy with how training has progressed thus far, but it’s only when players put multiple 90 minutes under their belts that they are ready for competitive action. There’s not necessarily a great deal of work to do to overcome Red Imps (no offence intended), but qualifiers come thick and fast thereafter. Despite beating Slovenian champions Olimpija Ljubljana yesterday, I expect Celtic will be more motivated for Saturday’s game against Maribor.

It gets serious from now onwards.

I understand that Res 12 was about governance however Uefa’s reply has introduced this new club / company as part of their reply, so that is why I asked about it.

Who are the individual you speak of ?

  2. Stewart Regan that these are two separate entities. UEFA has never considered them as such as its own regulations state, and in choosing to put the word “new” before both they’ve clearly accentuated their wider point.

UEFA is putting it as plainly as it can; the club playing at Ibrox is five years old.

It has no past or frame of reference before that point.BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on 8TH JULY 2016 10:49 PM

Well ok taking one step at a time, we have a statement which implies that UEFA think they are a new club, good. I’ll skip the SFA governance bit at the moment, so Looking at the Goebbels manipulation of the smsm tonight, no comment.

How do we get a wider audience when the media merely shut up shop?

As it stands, whilst not denigrating the efforts of those involved, the only tangible outcome appears to be that when the Ibrox club qualifies for European competition, they will be allocated a co-efficent proper to a club new to Europe.

Will this be the case – will it not be given the country’s co-efficent?

What is the next step – what is the aim?

We announced our plans late last night and managed to get the word out – probably ten times the usual audience on here earlier this evening.

I don’t think James Forrest’s server could handle the pace! It was a big test of the new servers Paul organised last year for CQN. Not so long ago we’d have been down.

I have been busy watching the reaction elsewhere and their ignorance is something special. Stupid, stupid….

They are rapidly running out of friends and institutions that they can rely on. In their position that makes them very vulnerable indeed.

Thanks to Auldheid for answering questions all night. What a shift!

Overall a great day on CQN. Now I am off to collect the boy and his pals from T in the Park. Hope it’s better organised than last year!

  22. Now that Il cappo de tutti cappi in European Football terms has finally acknowledged the death of Rangers (1872-2012), could the member clubs of the SPFL please use this declaration to get the bilge (founded 1872, over 100 honours won,Rangers) on the Rangers page of the SPFL Clubs section on its official website removed until corrected, in order that the site might reflect reality?

I’d appreciate almost 50 years on from my first Celtic game being able to continue to support them in Scottish football, which I won’t be able to do if they compete, without protest, in a game based on The Big Lie, an insult to everyone’s intelligence, as UEFA’s answers today have shown.

Thanks to the Resolutioners for their efforts, and to those who have supported them, and for getting UEFA to state its position on Sevco, even if that was not the aim of the campaign. You have given some of us hope that we’ll have a sport to watch, not something resembling WWE.

I want to add my thanks to the Resolution 12 guys. Auldheid, Morrissey23, BRTH and especially to Canamalar for kicking this off in the first place, an effort of herculean proportion by the four of you. Celtic and the wider Celtic support will forever be in your debt.

What next? Hopefully the SFA will be brought to book and the by product of this, the hun club being set straight will be the icing on the cake.

I still think none of this would have bee necessary had our club had the balls to stand up and lead at the time of the hun demise. I said four years ago that Celtic could have killed the same club myth dead in its tracks with an early, well worded and maybe even sympathetic statement on the death of the hun. I still think that should have been done and the whole of Scottish football would have benefitted, even the hun.

Anyway, thanks to the Res 12 guys for their doggedness in chasing this down.

Winning Captains, just to let you know the postie finally delivered my t shirt today………………perfect timing apt:_)
