Who cares. They’ll get knocked out in the last 32 by a team from the CL and so will we or we’ll beat a team from the conference league

We’ll fill some gaps in the squad in January and finish ahead of them in May

  3. Quite a performance / quite a result.

Front three all get goals and we play a lot of good football.

We are still a work in progress — the glass jaw means that everybody has a puncher’s chance against us until we wise up and get more energy / intelligence / confidence into the team.

All the quality and class on the park came from us.

Unfortunately so did most of the comic book defending and the sloppy play.

Now we need to give BL a right hiding — we owe them one and they deserve it.

  4. Alan Campbell was a miss, we were too busy chasing Eddie Howe to notice, AC left Motherwell on a free last window, hard working, tough, midfield workhorse, we’ve not had one of them since Petrov, not saying AC is a Petrov, its the energy thing that rubs off on others around him, all of our midfield players were workhorses when Brendan Rodgers was our boss, then he left us and it fell flat.

Suggestion – Let David Turnbull take the Tommy Burns route to left back, and move Juranovic in beside Callum, and energize the midfield with the tough and classy Croatian.

    tin helmet on….

  5. In kyogo we have a player

    First goal was well taken

Jota has deft control of the ball at times, his touch, the way he stills the ball is impressive.his running at defenders is great and his goal tonight i hope to see more of(get him signed) running/taking on defenders and end product like that tonight.

Third goal was my favourite.from turnbull, good strength, pass and move, great kyogo pass and finish by Abada.

Hope Welsh is alright, julienne hope yir ready

A good night Celts.another day in the history.:-)

Bitton had a good game too.

    Juranovic I like good strength.stocky.

    CV.sound.solid good unit

Great being a Celt.Always is.Dundee Sunday we go on.

Hope the bhoys in Budapest are having the Craig and singing and having a party :-)

  6. Elsewhere in Europe plucky Leicester City sit in 3rd in their group on 5 points after a creditable home draw against 9th in the Russian league Spartak Moscow

Randgeurs* appear to have finished in 2nd place while sitting 3rd with 4 points from 4 games, all collected from mighty Brondby who sit 6th in the Danish superduper League.

  7. A great win tonight. An away win in Europe should be certainly be celebrated in the circumstances (crikey, our domestic away form, until very recently, should justify a celebration tonight).

Pass marks for most. Back 5 done their job. Front 3 delivered the goals, and looked a danger going forward. Off the ball, Kyogo pressed well, and Jota tracked back, but Abada has shown he still has room for improvement. Many, understandably, we’re calling for him to be subbed before he got the killer 3rd goal. This goal showed the positive side of his game – he is best when given a ball to run onto, and strike/head first time. He is not so good at playing one/twos, or tracking back. Hart, quite rightly, gave him dogs abuse after aiming a kick out to Abada (who should be an out ball) but their LB got to the ball first because Abada wasn’t switched on. He has lots to learn, but he DID score our 3rd – so we need to accept the rough with the smooth perhaps, whilst he learns (he is still learning).

My biggest cause for concern (which I’m loathed to harp on about, after an away win) was our lack of defensive play from our midfield three. We need to defend as a team when not in possession. The front 3 pressed, and the back 4 done as well as we can ask, but our midfield 3 have major room for improvement defensively.

They are responsible for ensuring the opposition’s midfield don’t have time & space to pick out forward passes. We struggled in this regard, especially in 1st half.

Anyway, enough of the constructive criticism. A great result tonight, and a well deserved win.

  9. 6 wins and a draw since the Leverkusen game, including 4 away games and 2 in the Europa League

    Tangible, real, unarguable progress

strengthen in a January, a bit of luck with fitness and we’ll win the league

  10. who is to blame for this?

    Jeanette Findlay (@JeanFind) Tweeted:

Police officers blatantly lying about Celtic fans; anti-Catholic marchers deliberately timing their marches to coincide with the Mass times of the churches they pass and Glasgow City Council continuing to treat public sector workers with contempt – if despair wasn’t a sin… https://twitter.com/JeanFind/status/1456323160933076996?s=20

and why are so many six counties officers appearing in Scotland?

ushered in under a cop26 banner?

  11. Joe, you make comments worth reading…… there was a lad KevJ back in the Davie Hay that I enjoyed reading. :)

Josip is a lot more suited to midfield than left back. The dude is Top quality.

Ange is getting through a very difficult start to his tenure very well.

I watched Brondby against Sevco and I reckon Ferencvaros would have taken the 6 points off Brondby.

Its time to really put the foot to the floor and Win, Win, Win continuously Domestically as they are not a team that does pressure well. Obviously the MIBs an issue.

A Superb performance Celtic – It should have been mair than 3.

  12. why were we booed by home fans for taking the knee?

    what’s going on?

have we been hoodwinked into a woke issue?

    what am I missing?

  15. Call me Gerry

last year we only ever played with one defensively minded midfielder. He now plays for Aberdeen.

  16. off to bed,

watched the full match again. would encourage all to do it, see when you know the result, you are much more apperciateved on how those bhoys perform.

    also agree,

why are there so many norn-irish polis in glasgow, who agreed to that

  17. Saint Stivs,

Bayer Leverkusen are in for a heck of a game.

We have been given a sh!tty draw with 2 away games at the most crucial point.

Ange’s Building up of the Team Spirit is the most important.

Celtic will go for Bayer Leverkusen and I think we Will get a draw at least.

  18. SS, the reason there’s so many Ulster prods vying for Police Scotland vacancies is because there’s strict positive discrimination quota regulations in the Six Counties.

Just the usual reaction from filthy racist scum. The only good racist is a dead racist.

  20. It will be interesting to see if UEFA take action against the Hungarian racist scum that jeered Celtic FC for making the anti racism gesture before tonight’s match. Let’s hope so.

Maybe our problem is that we sign/play players who are pigeon holed types – ie defensive midfielder OR attacking midfielder.

Maybe we should be looking for midfielders who are good both with the ball (attacking) and without the ball (defensive)?.

Granted, these players, if established, cost more than we can afford…unless if course we can scout them before they are known.

  22. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Joe Ordinary @ 11:20

That is an astounding story you’ve linked.

I feel so sorry for Sevco supporters.

They are the unluckiest, most under appreciated, most misunderstood group of away fans in European football.

Every time they travel they have to contend with poor logistics, substandard facilities, faulty ticket checks, closed turnstiles, broken big screens, unhelpful foreigners and vicious police officers.

    Something needs to be done.

  23. fakes like starmer take the knee.

are we not better to avoid issues that the likes of starmer endorse with all of his dubious accomplices?

is the knee anti white? pro black?

    aren’t we open to all?

american democrat party people are stoking up anti white attitudes.

shouldn’t we, Celtic, be avoiding what seem to be witch hunting cancel culture attitudes?

    careful how we go.

some EPL fans boo the taking the knee stuff and then they’re accused of being bigots?

why? Morgan Freeman actor, he said “the way to stop racism, don’t talk about it.”

I’d rather trust Morgan Freeman, than the american democrat party, or sir starmer.

a club like no other also means, don’t get tricked into witch hunts.

Maybe they want to wreck a major city at a European final, in memory of “Walter’s” team in 2008?
