Fighting the same foe too many times

1064

Napoleon observed that no one should fight the same enemy too many times, as eventually their superior ways and techniques will become redundant as the inferior foe will eventually hit on a strategy which works.

Dundee United did reasonably well in their two games against Celtic in the last 9 days, despite playing a considerable part of both games with a man disadvantage.  They will arrive at Celtic Park tomorrow night having learned a few lessons, and hooping to compete with a full complement of players.

The danger for Celtic lies in what happened against St Johnstone at Celtic Park earlier this month.  The Perth team have won only two of their nine games since 17 January but they knew what to expect from Celtic, who were marginally off-pace, enough so to leave the field without points.  Another marginally off-pace performance tomorrow night and talk of trebles will evaporate in an instant.

If we’re vulnerable at any point between now and the end of the season, it’s this midweek.

For me the nearest we have to Joe Hanson is young Henderson he has a similar industry to Jo I think we should give him a go.I dont know if Lustig and Mulgrew are in contention for a start. H.H.

I’m extremely pissed off. I’m rarely at my house in Hamilton these days but this is the address that Celtic have for me. I’ve come back here after work expecting the ticket to be here considering the game’s tomorrow night. Nothing here.

Now I understand that Celtic aren’t to know that I’m not often here but you’d expect the ticket to have arrived by now!

I’ll now have to go to the TO tomorrow for a re print. I joined the HCTS to avoid that very scenario.

Pish poor service brought about because of what you keep highlighting.

  4. Ghuys,

Been asked to put a link up about Michelle McManus’s ‘Reloaded ‘ show that she did at the Edinburgh Festival. She is putting the show on at the Kings Theatre on Tuesday 24th March. Michelle is a great Supporter of Sean’s Trust.

If she is your cup of tea entertainment wise go along if you can. Here is a link:

Don’t know if you’re on the home ticket scheme mate or seated in lower tier, but if u are you’re season card is activated for use. No need for paper ticket

Lustig could play the johansen role no problem. He has it all. Injury-prone recently though. Thankfully, otherwise he’d have been gone long ago.

Just listened to four or five Makems on Sky being asked about Advocaat and what they know about him.

Not one mentioned his previous club that died in 2012.

Almore: Re Dublin Hootennany(c.BMCUWP) perhaps a weekend between the two mentioned would be appropriate as there were a few mumps about Belfast on St Valentine’s Day and cost of hotels ie cheaper hotels equals more beer money

  9. To all those attending the Partick shindig tonight – enjoy.

Please make sure BMCUW makes the last train!

    HH!!

  10. What is the Stars on

Personally if we people were coming to Dublin next year ( and I hope they do) I would avoid both Easter and the actual dates of the rising as I would imagine hotels etc would be full and visits to Kilmainham etc would be very busy. Best pick another weekend, it might be more practical.

  11. Joe Filippis Haircut.

I’m well, thank you. But I’ll be weller if tonight’s fourfold comes up – Monaco, Athletico, Hearts (-1) and, obviously, Alloa ;-)

I also have a treble without the mighty Fifers.

I have no problem when Jackie Mac suggests we may be targeting Cifci.

Beating an opponent, includes exploiting their weaknesses, and if our players ‘targeting’ Cifci means he is likely to react in some way ( & that could be a simple thing like losing concentration) then so be it.

I would however suggest that in raising the subject, whatever we have or haven’t done, has irked Jackie, and that is a sign of mental weakness on his part.

It’s my mums 80th birthday today, down near Morpeth for the week. Nice folk but no idea what they are saying. Bit like living in Peterhead :-0

  18. Awe HT thats you got him started again on the top tier! Goodness sake man took me days to get calmed down.

  19. With Wits and Micks da (aka Cosy corner). We can be quite flexible, couple weeks after Easter?. All for a Hootennanny in the Metropolis.

    Rory Gallagher on BBC now.

  20. Cosy CB: Easter weekend may not suit me or others. Sometime between the two weekends may not have the range of events that Easter weekend/ April 24th will offer though. I’m open minded but will do my best to be there whatever date is decided.

There is a greater choice of accommodation in Dublin and as long as the date is set far enough in advance, people should get decent rates.

I emailed Clogher Celt and accommodation arrangements could be part of the planning. It’s early days yet, this Easter hasn’t passed!

  21. CQN in Dublin.

    Nah, it should be Donegal.

    Cheaper and more beautiful.

You can stay in my caravan and thomthethim can put the rest up.

Paul67 would have to stay in more salubrious surroundings like Teach Phaidi Oig.
