Scottish clubs are now subject to Uefa Licensing and Financial Fair Play Regulations which insist club’s pay creditors in a timely manner or become subject to sanctions. These pesky rules should prevent debts reaching a maturity of more than six months old and becoming subject of a Winding-up Order. I am sure old Heavily Conflicted, also known as the SFA president, will have sprung into action on hearing recent news.
The Rangers yesterday issued a short statement following Channel 4’s story that Orlit Enterprise threatened a Winding-Up Order, insisting, “Rangers Football Club is capable of meeting any debts presented legitimately and we would like to stress to our supporters there is no threat to the Club whatsoever”. They really need to stay on-message… football clubs are never threatened; it’s only the Company which can be liquidated! Apparently.
I hear Charles Green is on an international bucket collection, Dubai and then onto Australia. Meanwhile, it is crucial no one disturbs his important work. When you think of the people who could have taken ownership of Ibrox last year, he has been absolutely perfect.
On other matters……..
The new edition of CQN Magazine is out and available for your consumption. Written by and for Celtic fans, it is another Celtic joy!

I thought the Rangers fella was pretty spot on about David Murray and the protection he got from the press and not knowing who to believe.
That plays into making things up like PL being behind their situation and why the messengers of what is true get it in the neck.
Its taking its time but reality is breaking through.

The format’s only as good as the panel.
That panel was utterly useless.

Ernie I agree
my point was more about the technical webcast format, in terms of access and sound/vision speed etc. that has possibilities for an on-line debating forum
Thommo now has the opportunity to bring a better quality group together and join the debate …….get that Secovian back on to repeat his nonsense….and nail the point directly!
it’s bobbing along the six yard box just needs someone to volley it into the roof of the net :-)
now I might be looking forward to webcast2
tho’ more in hope than expectation

Very good words of wisdom. Worth a re-post every now and again I would say.
I thought the webcast was good as far as it went, not in getting to the bottom of things but more at showing exactly what the root causes of it are – a failure to see fault where it lies, a sense of entitlement and a desire to blame anyone else but especially PL.
Interesting that green is out Far East way, when going between Dubai & Australia, a common change over destination would be Singapore. Hmm…
Alex Thomson to be credible beyond Celtic walls has to not only present a balanced picture but has to be seen to be doing so.
How we can criticise him for doing the very thing we criticise the msm for not doing baffles me.
Its all unfolding nicely.

Cheers. Its a cracker and useful at down points in one’s life cycle.
Stewart is John Grieg’s love child.

Yes I accept Sevcovian may be confused about the extent of Murray’s role in the creating the mess they are in
many of them are -genuinely in the dark
I thought the webcast was hopeless, AT never questioned the zombie on any of his points, for whatever reason, the journo was very pro huns, the sports lawyer was a fish out of water as far as Scottish football was concerned, it may be Thomo’s first , hope the next one is better
Stewart Weir, the journalist on with Thommo that is.
Jamie Carragher yo retire at end of the season,a man who played the game the right way.A guy you would always want beside you in your team.

Took the words right out of my mouth.
Would an illegitimate debt be a big bassa of a bill that Chuckles is in no position to pay ? Wonder if the 276 who were fleeced by the deid club felt their losses were insignificant ? Over to you jabbachuckle !!

Is it correct that Celtic will have had 1 million fans through the turnstyles come next Tuesday v Juve?
Any links to this story if their is one?
Better get there early. That’s going to be some queue:)

He’s chairing a debtate, it’s not necessarily his job in this instance to correct every erroneous point that’s been raised.
Having somebody like Stuart Cosgrove on might have provided a bit of balance. Jim Spence wouldn’t have been allowed, and that doesn’t leave much scope for findign a balance journalist.
Some belters in here…
Charles Green – Rangers CEO met with around 70 members of Dubai Loyal at Ramada Chelsea Hotel, Al Barsha, Dubai
Sunday 3rd February 2013
Private members only meeting with Charles, on his way to Qatar then to Australia
During his introduction Charles mentioned that he had lived in Dubai for 4 years running the largest Diagnostic Lab in the Middle East. He then went on to talk about how he became involved with Rangers
• He said when he was first asked to get involved, he said ‘no’ but then again the rest is history.
• £4m of the investment cash came from the Middle East region from Blue Pitch investments.
• Much of the press coverage of Charles Green’s involvement has just been rubbish, in particular the coverage of his relationship with Ally McCoist in the early days.
• He talked about the bidding process for the club and although many people spoke about an interest, no one other than him and his team were prepared to sign the cheque.
• He then went on to talk about the restructuring with many of the current plans being proposed being madness. It seems that in Scotland ‘we enjoyed it so much he want to do it again’ something has to change.
• He believes the title stripping is a sham. When he first met with the SPL he was offered a deal which involved removal of 5 Scottish Cups 6 Leagues cups and 5 titles which he of course refused.
• He said the world is looking at the club and can’t believe what is going on in the way the club is being treated. He’s continued to try to tell the truth from day 1 and to be honest with the supporters.
• Of the 12 IPOs in the UK last year Rangers was the most successful
• He’s trying to look at the bigger picture looking at opportunities for Academies in Far East and Australia
• He then went on to talk about the finances of the club and says that Rangers, under his tenure, will never have any debt.
• He is looking at opportunities to build a communications platform that will ‘blow your mind’
• Other revenue gaining opportunities include new sponsors and stadium naming
• He believes the Rangers turnover could get to £100m without TV, second only to Man United and Arsenal providing we can get into the top tier. He sees the current situation as a real opportunity to change the model.
• The discussed £10m transfer pot is real but it won’t be used for the types of transfers done in the past but he believes there are class players to be bought.
• Rangers are looking at ways to remove the 3 Year Euro ban and are very interested in looking cross border leagues.
Q&A
Q: Expats were unable to get involved in the IPO
A: They are trying to bottom out a mechanism for this around disapplication rules. The question will be the price of the stock
Q: Discussion of selling the stadium name
A: Naming rights will be sold, but Ibrox will remain part of the stadium name. There are 3 potential bidders but he’s unable to put a value on it as he doesn’t know what league we will be playing in. We had a vote in the club that showed the majority of the Dubai Loyal members had no issue with stadium renaming so long as Ibrox remained in the title
Q: Murray Park Name
A: Name will change if we can add to a sponsorship deal. Mr Green confirmed that RFC owns all assets including Ibrox ,Murray Park and the Albion Car Park
Q: On the question of debt
A: Mr Green reconfirmed that we will never run with debt as long as he is in charge. It is his philosophy that he believes his role is to build up the coffers of the club
He said that it was a tough decision to maintain all the staff and ’a good’ Chief Executive would have fired 30% of the work force last year but he continued to look at the growing of the club rather than cutting back.
The decisions to buy the Albion Car Park and Edminston Club were no brainers in his opinion and the EC will be redeveloped.
Q: There was a discussion as to whether the club will have another Director of Football
A: Mr Green confirmed his full support of Ally McCoist at this time and doesn’t see any change taking place
He doesn’t believe in people returning to the club and says what we need now is freshness on and off the park
The lease has been signed for a new Rangers shop in Glasgow airport
It will remain open as long as it continues to make money
Q: Communications
A: talking about building our own studio phone-ins with the Jim Traynor where nothing will be off limits. He wants to open the doors to the fans
The meeting closed with the club thanking Mr Green for taking the time to visit us in Dubai and posing for photographs with the fans.
‘No agreement’ over Rangers winding-up threat
Rangers are being chased for a disputed bill of about £400,000 Continue reading the main story

The man behind Rangers takeover
The company which runs Rangers Football Club faces the prospect of a winding-up order over an unpaid bill, despite denials from the club.
BBC Scotland understands no agreement has been reached between Rangers and a Singapore based company, Orlit Enterprises.
That is despite a spokesperson for Rangers saying a deal had been reached subject to paperwork.
It is thought two disputed bills amount to around £400,000.
BBC Scotland understands Orlit Enterprises are investigating the possibility of raising a winding up order against the company which currently runs Rangers within the next seven to 10 days, if the dispute continues.
Orlit Enterprises is run by the Singapore-based businessman Chan Fook Meng. He is a former business associate of the current Rangers chief executive Charles Green.
Mr Green is a former chairman of Mr Chan’s company, Nova Enterprises. That company is also linked to current Rangers finance director Brian Stockbridge, who was an advisor during his time at the stockbrokers Allenby Capital when it was called Tembusu Investments Ltd.
The BBC spoke to Mr Chan from Singapore this morning. He offered no comment on the matter. Nova Enterprises’ UK solicitors Pritchard Englefield said they couldn’t comment on any of their clients.
Allenby Capital told the BBC their company is not involved in this dispute and they have no interest in Rangers Football Club.
In a statement Rangers said the “the sums sought are insignificant”, an agreement over payment had been reached and there was “no threat to the Club whatsoever”.
The dispute does not concern the “old-co” RFC 2012 plc which was liquidated after Charles Green’s consortium bought the assets of the football club out of administration in 2012.
He doesn’t believe in people returning to
the club and says what we need now is
freshness on and off the park.
The loyal Cardigan gone then? Thought not.

Or to put it another way – The Rangers are liars!
Some of you will remember my nephew Jordan Houston, aged 11, who passed away with a horrible brain tumour at the end of 2011. Prior to his passing his parents arranged many wonderful football related moments such as leading out Scotland V Spain and meeting his football hero Gary Hooper. His parents wrote to All Scottish clubs for mementos to auction and received wonderful responses,
However the person who gave most in terms of time and love was Big John Hartson who visied Jordan and his family many times lifting their spirits and reassuring them with some wonderful words.
You may recall John Hartson received some very nasty abuse on his blog after writing about his visits to Jordan. His parents have been very active since then and have set up
Jordan Houston Trust
This was a message his Mum posted earlier today
Omg guys, just had a surprise visit from Steven Whittaker to drop off signed strips/donation. Absolutely blown away! What a kind & very generous man. He is an absolute legend! And I know Jordo will be up there proud as punch that Steven came to his house!! :) Plus he’d be laughing at me being so shell shocked!! Haha. Not often I’m left speechless but the man just completely blew me away! Cx
—————–
Posted the above yesterday and would like to add that Steven Whittaker handed over 2 signed Scotland strips 2 signed Rangers strips, a Celtic signed strip, a Norwich signed strip, a signed ball and signed boots plus £500 cheque from him for the trust.
He made the journey after reading about Jordan in the Daily Record.
Must say has changed my opinion of him
