Fog of stress begins to lift from Lennon

980

A line has hopefully been drawn under the stress Neil Lennon has lived under during the last two years with the conviction of two men found guilty of sending bombs in the post.  In a statement, Neil said: This has been a very stressful and difficult time for myself and my family and clearly I am glad that it is over”, before adding, “I will forever be thankful to the Police for the way in which they have handled this matter.”

Celtic chief executive, Peter Lawwell, added: “No one could imagine the pressure [Neil Lennon] has been under during the past two years.  He has coped with this particular episode, last year’s assault and the, at times, seemingly unrelenting attacks from many quarters.

“In my opinion, no-one in Scottish footballing history has had to contend with this level of pressure whilst trying to do their job.  Neil Lennon is someone who has shown tremendous character and resilience, and we will continue to support Neil in any way we can.”

This month has been made all the more difficult for Neil Lennon by the sudden death of Paul McBride, also a target of the bombing campaign.  Neil Lennon said, “Finally, I would like to mention my good friend Paul McBride.   His sad passing remains very raw to those close to him, we continue to miss him dearly and my thoughts remain very much with Paul’s family.”

The SFA have written to Neil Lennon three times since the start of the trial earlier this month to capitalise on perceived transgressions by the Celtic manager while yesterday a former referee used his newspaper column to undermine Neil’s position at Celtic.

These people really do need to get a grip.

Within minutes of the verdict being announced yesterday news of Stilian Petrov’s serious illness was made public.  Stilian will received the very best medical attention and all our prayers.

Where does in stop? Being from Ireland I never fully appreciated what a messed up country Scotland is. That was until I found this website and others like it where the stories and experiences of our supporters in terms of prejudice, sectarianism and bigotry came fully to light. I have distant relations in Scotland on my mother’s side who originally came from Sligo (Molloys) and it is only now I realise how hard they must have had it to survive and prosper when they followed that well worn path of emigration all those years ago.

Just read Provan’s hatchet job on the manager. Ok Davie, you harp on about showing class and taking defeat badly, laying the blame at the refs door etc. I’ll give you one name which fits the bill on all those counts. Sir Alex Ferguson. Although I’m not a fan of the Man Utd manager, you have to say he is one of the all time greats, and to be fair to him, he worships Jock Stein.

Provan doesnt consider for one second, the fact that Neil Lennon has been the most victimised manager possibly in the history of football. Like his buddy Nicholas, he doesnt mind sticking the boot into Celtic in order to keep his membership of the LL.

They want us to have a Tony Mowbray type manager (lovely man BTW), who takes the injustices and cheating “on the chin” and tried, valiantly, to win against all the odds by playing inventive attractive and fair football. But we saw where thst got us. What we have now is a fighter, a lion, a man who will stand up to anyone without fear of the consequences. When I burn with rage in Dublin at another refereeing scandal adversely affecting my club, which scandal invariably goes without mention by the laptop loyal, I KNOW our manager will call out the crime and the perpetrator in my behalf. He eases my anger and gives me a voice (remember how he even used our catchphrase of the ‘honest mistake’). He takes the flak for that, while I sit back in my living room feeling better that my thoughts and feelings have been aired. I implore all Celtic fans, never take the bait when you are actively encouraged to undermine and question our manager. I despise and detest Provan and Nevin and Nicholas all the more for their attacks on him, because as ex Celtic players/fans, they know all about the cheating and injustices against our club for generations. Neil Lennon is a massive hero of mine. We are so lucky to have him.

  12. Well, it’s a pity we can’t win it today in front of a packed Celtic Park on a sunny afternoon. Still, the huns winning yesterday was always a certainty. Just need to go for a good win and one step closer.

Looks like the pantomime across the road is coming to a critical point. There is now almost an acceptance that there is no way out apart from liquidation. All the bidders seem to be trying to buy the decaying corpse of the club to start something new.. Zombie Rangers?

I had a great discussion with a Hearts supporter yesterday, or at least that’s what he called himself. He was full of “after liquidation” this and “after liquidation” that. I told him to go look up the word.

But many of them, aided by the powers that be, do see Zombie Rangers as the ideal situation. No debt, lovely shiny new owners and all of the history too. We have to make the media and everyone else realise that it will be a brand new club and deserves to be treated exactly the same way as any other new club.

And I’m not talking punishment or sanctions. I’m talking about sticking to the rules of football..

  13. Taking my grandson (4) to his first match at Celtic Park today. Can we walk up Janefield Road as was to get to the Rangers end. Alternatively can we enter a gate in the North Stand and work our way round or must we walk all the way round to the Springfield Road.

    Thanks

Don’t know if anybody has answered you but that sequence refers to the Major Scale intervals.

    T means tone.

On a guitar that is equal to 2 frets being 1 Whole tone i.e

The distance between, say the note or chord of C.

If you move up a T or a W as I prefer it you would land on D.

S refers to SEMITONE meaning one half step as opposed to the former 2.

I prefer to use H for Halfstep.

If we started on C and moved an interval of an S or an H you would land on C#.

A great way to write your own songs is to stay within the confines of the Major Scale.

    Take C Major –

    C – D – E- F – G – A – B – C

C Major is a good example as there are no accidental (sharp or flat notes) in its key.

If you understand the 12 note sequence-

    A Bb B C C# D Eb E F F# G G# and back to A.

You can use your Major scale formula to work out every note in any given major key.

Remember that between E and F there is no accidental, this rule also goes for the note pair B and C.

Everything in music is derived and can be understood by the knowledge of the Major scale.

    Hope that helps

  21. i am sick of this sh*te about scottish football being doomed without them i.e. t.v money, fans to games etc… there is no way a newco should be given spl status without having to earn it, is is morally repugnant and disrespectfulness to every other club in this country.

so after 20 years of cheating our spl clubs are going to allow rangers to start again with a clean slate, so they can for example, right off JJB’s contract, catering contract, ticketus contract, other clubs money, taxmans 15 or 70 million etc…, but retain ibrox, their current players and training ground and start again, where exactly is the justice in all of this and for the club most cheated.

if thats the plan i think celtic need to be getting in contact with some very good solicitors to get us out of this hellhole of a league, which has been shown over and over again to be designed for one team to succeed. at its core there is a deep rooted hatred of all things celtic, catholic, Irish.

and the article about other clubs that are not run well suffering the same fate as rangers i.e. die, i have one thing to say b*llsh*ite. just like any other business you respond to the environment and adapt.

i have no problem with a newco starting at the bottom and working its way up the league. but my gut feeling is they are getting right back into the spl.

p.s. i think celtic and the rest of the clubs in the spl should be sitting round the table and talking about a better share of t.v. money from domestic games, sharing 50% of all t.v. income from european games with rest of league, we should have a larger league with more playoffs at the top and bottom, maybe just maybe we could change to culture of the game in scotland where every other club recognises their interdependence of each other. sharing the wealth more equally will see a change in income to all clubs and will see more competition, excitement and entertainment. the spl will never compete with the EPL, but with some simple changes we could see a most clubs competing with champainship, or npower league 1 teams

  23. Marrakesh express, yes I’ve been thinking of the local press take on Fergie v neil a lot of late. Agenda driven, but unfortunately it fools a lot of people. even wattie continues to be shown as an example. I will never forget him jumping into the mock huddle at CP.

Can you imagine if Neil had done something similar last week if we had won the game.

One final one, Buthcer interview earlier in the season stated that ref’s wer having a get together at Inverness next week, they better have a fleet of ambulances ready. Front page news for a week if Neil had been so crass.

  24. Everytime there is a game at CP & i aint there i seriously consider quiting my job, Only a matter of time!

  25. Really think that St Johnstone will make it hard for us today. But couldn’t stop myself sticking a quid on there being 7 (seven) or more goals in the game – 25/1. It’s been that sort of few weeks!

Off to The Park now to soak up a fantastic happy loving atmosphere.

She said the Rangers points did not add.up right. I had to explain administration and likely liquidation.

I mentioned writing songs using that formula,to do that you would obviously know the difference between a Major and a Minor chord, which helps give shape to the key because not every chord cam be a Major chord in the Major key.

    It’s like ying n yang.

    The sequence goes-

    Major

    Minor

    Minor

    Major

    Major

    Minor

    Diminished.

So if you wanted to wrote a song on C Major the chords available are-

    C Major

    D minor

    Eminor

    F Major

    G Major

    A minor

    B diminished

As you can these strictly correspond to your Major scale intervals.
