Follow the money. £500k teaser

1406

I’ve been sent a brain teaser.  What legal reasons would someone have to discretely pay another individual £500k?  The people are not currently in business together, although the recipient previously worked for the sender.  No goods have been provided.

It’s a puzzle.

Looking for legal reasons only, no crazy illegal notions or wild speculation about real persons, this is purely a theoretical exercise.

Apparently I’m being sent a moral dilemma tomorrow: Will the recipient, with off-shore accounts but living in interesting times, declare the £500k?

  1. merseycelt loves Neil Lennon and the Green Brigade but despises the anti irish/catholic bigotry inherent within the organisations who constitute the scottish establishment on

Offishul excuses from Rankers FC (in administration) regarding their fans appalling behaviour last weekend:

“FOLLOWING reports that the SPL is investigating the Club regarding the behaviour of some fans at the Rangers v Kilmarnock match at Ibrox on Saturday and subsequent representation to the SPL by the Rangers Fans Working Group, David Martin, Head of Safety and Security at Rangers Football Club said:

“We are disappointed the Club is now the subject of an investigation by the SPL regarding the behaviour of some fans at the match against Kilmarnock on Saturday.

“Our fans have made tremendous progress in eradicating offensive singing over the last few seasons (WE ARE GOOD AT PRETENDING) and this has been widely acknowledged by members of the Joint Action Group set up by the Scottish Government last year, politicians and the police, to name a few.

“Last Saturday’s match was one of high emotion following an extremely difficult week for the Club and the fans representatives themselves approached the Club prior to Saturday’s match highlighting the raw emotion anticipated at the game on Saturday, the variety of protests being considered and their concern that many people attending may not have been to Ibrox for some time (WTF!).

“The Club held a number of meetings and conversations with the football authorities, police and administrators prior to the match and everyone agreed that the priority on Saturday was to ensure there was no disorder around the match due to the highly charged atmosphere that was anticipated (OUR REPUTATION INDICATES THAT IT WAS HIGHLY LIKELY THAT MANY OF OUR FANS MIGHT INDULGE IN SERIOUS VIOLENT AND ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR DESPITE THERE BEING NO PAPES AROUND).

“This was achieved before, during and after the match with 50,000 fans safely attending the game.

“To be clear, I am not saying there was an excuse for any offensive behaviour but, overall, the fans gave very positive support to the team (BUT COULDN’T HIDE THEIR CONTINUED IRRATIONAL HATRED FOR ALL THINGS CATHOLIC, IRISH AND GREEN) and this should not be overlooked.

“The Club has been consistent in its condemnation of such behaviour over many years and we are working with Strathclyde Police to identify individuals whom we know were engaged in offensive behaviour around the ground and we will take swift action against them (IE WE WILL TAKE NO ACTION), as we always do.

“No one is more disappointed than the fans themselves that some people’s behaviour seems to have marred the tremendous support of the fans last Saturday (BUT WE DID ALL THAT WE REASONABLY COULD SO PLEASE LET US AFF AGAIN!).” ”

Sorry bhoys, I have to agree with the huns on this one, this season is tainted.

I firmly belive they would have finished second…… if it was not for the 10 point deduction.

25 point turn around in just over 3 months. (I dont count that other 10 points as it would be a dis-service to our players and management achievements so far).

  7. Neil mcann was at ipox when donald finlay decided to audition for britains got talent and was seen loudly clapping and singing plenty of their sectarian songs. You cant blame him for signing for them as it is a pay packet at the end of the day but to join in with that lot in their vile songs really gets me wound up.

  10. Petec,

Your list is pretty extensive and I agree with all you said.

It will be very difficult to single out one player for the Award.

However, if I was pushed, I would choose Fraser…but only if he signed a contract before the end of the season!

I don’t think it matters if the pledges for savethethem are honoured.

All it would need is for G.M.Sucker to land up at Ibrox and say he has £x0m behind him.

I said before that “our hero Craig Whyte” can be printed for just less than a tenner on a tea shirt. Apparently it’s a lot cheaper to do it with JJB, irony or what!

  19. It was well known at the time that Neil McCann was desperate to play for us but we never made the move. Going to them probably made him a millionaire overnight so I would nt beat him up about it ( although I could nt do it !!!!).One thing that really pissed me off at the time , the game when they won the league and Dallas got hit by a coin , it was widely reported in the media that his dads house got his windows smashed……Complete and utter lies!!!! Always think he comes across well on the telly ,though I thought he slipped up a bit last week when commenting on the ragers demise, but kudos to him because later I think he realised what he said and backtracked a wee bit.

A well respected person from port glasgow who i won’t name but went to ibrox that night to pick up a group of supporters witnessed the event and has never spoke to mcann again. He has known him since he was a kid and all his family who were targeted by angry celtic fans when he signed for them but when he has met him he has just blanked him and mcann in my eyes is worse than any turncoat pundit on air in scotland these days.

  23. By the by don’t know how anyone can listen to the nasal musings of that part-time savant on snyde…I end up too frustrated by the old medias adage of: repeat it enough & people will believe it. Frustration or anger is not a good place to be. Avoided mainstream airwaves from now.

I take it we’re still waiting to hear about the dawn raids that have surely been carried out by Strathclyde’s finest after the bigot fest that was Ibrokes last Saturday. I await with interest the news that umpteen 16 and 17 year olds have been banged up on remand while awating the full force of the law to decend.
