The off-field histrionics that a visit to Tynecastle invariably brings is of little interest today. For now, don’t really care about the history of this fixture or the disposition of the natives. Such matters pale into insignificance beside the three points on offer to the team who have won 14 consecutive games in domestic football, a run that extends back to October.
Neil Lennon and his players will let others worry about life’s dramas, the likely influence of Hearts fifth winding-up order, served this week, the “political situation” that has a bearing on Hearts team selection, or even the 2-0 defeat at the same venue four months ago. They will instead focus on how to deliver a disciplined performance against a team who have recorded unlikely highs and lows this season.
10-man Hearts put five goals past St Mirren last month but were lucky to leave Tynecastle with a draw against 10-man St Johnstone at the weekend after Cillian Sheridan ran them ragged. They are neck-and-neck with St Johnstone in the league, both of whom have slipped six points behind Motherwell in the chase for what may yet become a Champions League spot.
The biggest decision for Neil Lennon may be in defence. Celtic have lost only two league goals in their last nine outings (they lost 12 in the previous nine), which has been crucial in their push to the top of the league. This has seen opportunities for now-fit Kelvin Wilson limited. Kelvin played a full 90 minutes in the Scottish Cup against Inverness on Saturday and will give the manager a decision to make.
Happy Birthday to Martin42, 70 years of refusing to take life too seriously. A win tonight would give us a better birthday reference point than the cold and miserable night at Celtic Park 12 years ago.

Hello again CQNers
My most favourite memory of Tynecastle was a Scottish Cup tie in the early 60s. 3-3 with 5 mins to go and R H Davidson that great friend of Celtic (NOT) awarded us a soft penalty. Paddy Crerand runs up but Gordon Marshall dives full length to save. Retake that says the ref. Goal. 4-3 to the good guys and I’m pretty sure on the way back to the bus we heard Rangers had lost an equaliser to Jim Baxter’s cousin George Kinnell. Oh Happy Day!
Hail Hail

Great game…….Joe Craig goal…….plenty of Pomagne uncorked….well we were poor students.
Wonder how long it will take Neil McCann to mention the atmosphere at tynecastle is special ‘cos the fans are right on top of you’ blah blah blah McCann change the record there’s only 15’000 there
I’d play commons tonight
Kojo, with respect, that is nonsense.
Garbage.
Buffonnery of a calibre unbecoming of a Celtic man.
And an ill timed comment on a great site that is jumpin wi anticipation. Just like the old days when the tabloids unearthed an anti Celtic story on the morning of a Celtic Rangers game.
It is your deeply held opinion, sure, of course. You are entitled to hold it.
But it has very little basis in fact.

Cousin misses the Dunfermline game has he is serving a suspension from his last game against Celtic
Embdy seen or heard from Auldheild recently on the usual blogosphere forums he spreads his wisdom over?
He’ll be required reading in the run up to the hun implosion and his expertise in forensic analysis of the factual precedents awaiting any newco in rebuttal the resultant hun hack op ed tidal wave truth surfers.
Hail Hail Auldheid.
Signing cousin is hilarious. 35 yrs old, been playing in Gabon recently… Just a thug. Hope big vic sorts him soon
STV sport tonight disgraceful. Lead story Rangers to resign Cousin big deal Hearts v Celtic show 2 Hearts goals none by Celtic and as for the delusionals on Clyde tonight, they really are in cuckoo land. I say let Rangers die and the sooner the better. I bet the air in Scotland will be a lot fresher.
Kojo
We will just have to agree to disagree when it comes tae Broonie…
I hope he scores a 30 yard screamer tonight!

Yes, corporate packages will bring in extra revenue. Say what, 1000 punters bringing in another £100 = £100k.
I don’t believe folks will stop buying ST because of them disappearing. Or at least very few, I cant actually think of one person I know who wouldn’t keep buying. Anyone on here as a straw poll gonna give up?
In addition, the CL place will almost certainly be ours EVERY year. What is that worth to us?
My opinion only of course.
My opinion would change of course if the TV deals etc stopped. There is the threat of that.
Anyhow my inital point was aimed at the math of the orc who stated the approx £5m was because we charged £40 per ticket. He was obviously assuming 60,000 fans x 2 games x £40 = £4.8m
There is no Old Firm
TBB read with interest your views the Strathclyde Pension Scheme investing in Ibrox….too risky sports venues don’t give a guaranteed return…..and they risk holding a White Elephant?
I support Celtic if Rangers are not in the league tough for them, whilst beating them gives me a good feeling I won’t miss their hate filled anthems that’s for certain.
Hoping for a good victory which sends a message to the rest of the league.
Hail Hail

Are you suggesting that my pension pot be used to buy Ibrox and lease it to the newco?

Apologies. I assume now you were referring to the annual corporate packages as opposed to the one of games v them. Yes, a fair amount of revenue I agree.

Remember getting the train through to swinecastle back in 88.
We bought a massive carryoot and someone had the good idea of hiding some cans under a traffic cone for the journey home.
The game finished 1-2 but, im sure we lay down that day as our next game was Dundee at home to win the league.
We were gutted at the end as we could find our traffic cone, so if you remember 3 guys running about lifting hundreds of traffic cones that day, i was the goodlooking one!!
LET THE PEOPLE HIDE BEER UNDER TRAFFIC CONES!!

I wonder what Stokes has to do to be a first team start he scored two and worked his sox off the last game he started only to find himself on the bench for the next game.Taking into account he is our top scorer it really seems strange that hes not a first pick for the team.H.H.

So so so good! In the linked Doing the Conga vid I Clocked a couple of good bhoys I know and haven’t seen in a while.
I wished so much I was there. Reminded me of Beachball Sunday, or going back to my own favourite away game, beating Arberdeen 5-0 in John Barnes first game, singing “We’ll meet again” and “you’re going down” at halftime on the first day of the season to a totally disgusted home support. Utter, childlike, silly, friendly joy.
The huns think they are THE people, while us? We’re just people. We don’t have to be superior, or exclusive, or born into entitlement and needing to crow about it. Good for us. Long may it last, and let’s take all the joy from supporting Celtic that we can.
Was it just last season Hearts came to Paradise full of second rate puffed out hunchests and we thrashed them.. ?
Please Celtic.. Same again and laugh at Rangers..
They ll soon be announcing the return of Derek Johnstone up front..
Mon the hoops…
The green and white upon my chest..
notthebus – hard to argue with that starting line-up after the trip to Inverness.
jimtim – how’s retirement treating you, wee man?! Bet you wish you were going in to wind they orcs you used to work with! :-)
T4
On the basis of how they played vs Caley Thistle – the correct team.
Just as much thuggery and intimidation will be on force today – that team was mentally and physically strong and brave – with some skill to boot.#
Come on your bhoys in green!
Never mind that team, what a bench!
Hearts looking to park the Ticket Bus then.
