Do to Scotland what you did to Celtic

282

I don’t want to see a single Scotland player forced to miss the Croatia game as a result of Billy Gilmour’s positive test, announced today.  I did not want to see 13 Celtic players forced to miss two games, two weeks training sessions and isolate at home, following Christopher Jullien’s positive test in January.  I did not want to see Ryan Christie miss Celtic games after Stuart Armstrong’s positive result in October, but the latter two happened.

The disruption caused to Celtic’s season was immeasurable and, when 13 players as well as coaching staff were forced to isolate, the result of predatory Track and Trace action.  Billy Gilmour did not travel to Wembley alone, he did not have his own dressing room at the stadium, he did not eat alone, he did not socialise alone.  The government officials who hammered Celtic will look the other way today.

Ms Sturgeon, if  you are that concerned with public health, do to Scotland what you did to Celtic.  We all know there is zero chance of that happening.

Nevin has had a chip on his shoulder regarding Celtic for years, a wee creep who criticises the Celtic support whilst eulogising the nazis at Chelsea and all the time claiming to be a socialist.

    Off this time.

  2. GENE

And the whole English team + referee were on the same pitch as Gilmour -without masks and social distancing . Seen the BBC animation of millions of viruses being expelled from an infected person for metres . He could have infected the whole of London. Or it might be the start of the next wave.

  3. Hot Smokie —- yup!

    The message is oooot.

it’s aw abooot wee bullly…. ( ABC)……..( and indeed no harm to the wee chap, he’s a player alright.)

The way I see it ( no laffin’)…….Celtica’s dominance has given Shortie the dry boak, it has saddened the eyes of that dick, Wilson and his cohort – the national squad is way too Hiberno for thems…………..time tae UP the Tartan co-efficient!…….and the need to have a new “character” with a non-upsetting “background” ….*cough*………..

…………thur cryin’ ooot for a new Ally or ( heaven forfend!) a new wee barry……….hence aw the talk of ” gallus” ad nauseam.

I know both situ’s are not equal but has he been referred to as a Covidiot yet?

Or perhaps in scoddish eyes – “idiocy” only extends the length of the London Road?

    Looks like it so far.

  4. wee Pet Navan?

    :))))

A confection of absurd compromises wrapped -up in a small brass-kneck in search of a microphone and some relevance.

    Sel -important nugget.

  5. Bankiebhoy,

Unfortunately, Nevin and the likes of McCann are given plenty of airtime by the SMSM to spout their nonsense, as so much of it is tinged with an anti-Celtic sentiment. Sadly, their likes have seen it as the only way to get on in Scottish sports media.

    New deal for Ralston?

    Inspiring times ahead for us….

    ——————————————————————

I think we have more important things to worry about.

Such as, who are we going to sign ad our FIRST CHOICE right back.

Ideally, I’d like 2 new right backs signed. But with the expectation of us signing multiple players for multiple positions, the priority must be to get a FIRST CHOICE right back signed.

Having Ralston extend his (expectedly inexpensive) contract offers us a back up squad player for a position that where we currently have no one.

No harm (imo) on keeping the lad on, short term anyway, while we rebuild the squad.

By all means criticise if you disagree, but can we make it constructive criticism whereby we offer up an alternative scenario.

I long for the days when CQN was rife with constructive debate…

Explained clearly before twice last time sure those a bit quicker in the blog bored of reading this.

Discrimation is often based on perception.

Despite our mix (which we should be proud of) we are perceived as Irish and Catholic.

But you know this, it just doesn’t suit your agenda.

Secondly, posts which included ‘play nice’ followed after your passive aggressive post to me don’t really match.

What it shows is exactly the point from several folks’ input yesterday- you can’t accept the obvious.

  8. Salford – certainly on the evidence so far……………..Consider Kris Commons ( as one example) it’s amazing how quickly they learn the ropes……

He went off the rails quick tho’……………sad.

Wee Pet Navan! When you think of the other stellar intellects that inhabit his wurld….. like Charlie, McCann, Ferguson etc……then he has used his half a brain cell to make a wee niche for himself.

I’d guess he thinks he’s smarter them all as well.

  9. Regarding Ralston, probably on a low wage. So exention not costly. More costly if he leaves and flourishes.

He has a season to show he can make it. Good luck to him 🍀

  10. rife with debate……………?

sure, I think that was a big part of it – but for me the culture of fun, terracing humour, decades of accumulated insights and anecdotes ……THAT culture – the craic, if ye like…….made/makes thius place, Dear and Green………..( beware inferior imitations)

First the sleekits targeted CQN, for its emerging prominence, then our host for his profile…and Celtica by extension.

    Little by little….drip, drip drip…….

    The Grass Is No Greener.

  11. As others have said, no harm to the wee guy but I didn’t realise the extent of the devastation caused by Bily ‘ BILLY’S ‘ absence tonight !

‘However does everything have to boil down to religion?’

    ###

Because perceived religious affiliation or background is indicative of a person’s ethnic or national background.

And these things matter for those who see the world from a nationalist perspective.

But you’d need to have some knowledge and understanding of the history of nationalism in Scotland to understand the concern.

  13. Pleased Tony Ralston has penned an extension to his contract. Doesn’t mean he’s going to hold down the RB slot, if he was good enough for that, we wouldn’t have gone out on deadline day and signed Johnjo Kenny on Everton wages. Having first hand experience of not previously using the market properly since Mikel Lustig was retired, we should be chose much more carefully than before.

i understand your fears, biases and bigotry.

    ——–

A new low from you. So I’m calling out prejudice against us which has gone on from day 1 and your response is that I’m bigotted.

That’s what wrong with Scotland right there.

    You’re a disgrace.

  15. Looks like a major blunder from the SFA for not using the same reputable testing company as the RIFC

  16. No problems for me with Ralston getting an extra year, but please spare me the”Way he stood up to Neymar”piss. He made an arse of himself.Good luck to the boy with his last chance.I don’t think anywhere near good enough, but better than 10 million rated Kenny.

    Billy Gilmour-ism

Billy Gilmour does not use spell check,if he happens to misspell a word OED will change the spelling.

  18. My friends in Celtic,

Brilliant to see all the Scotland flags in shops, pubs and house windows. The flags are the nations not a political junket.

Re Covid : We cannot lock down forever. Suicides are taking more lives than the virus in these Islands. However if individuals want to self isolate and avoid people indefinitely then we must respect their decision.

HH to all, and get inta them tonight.

  19. Please stop the childish comments about the boy Gilmour. Not his fault the rabid Scottish media are so slobbering about him.Saves them getting off their fat asses and finding stories.Find a new hero for a week, that will do.I can understand them, but the sickly guff coming from the so called experts is vomit inducing. He will be a great talent, just leave him alone.

  20. ‘As we look ahead to the coming season our commitment to you is that your investment in the Club will continue to be used to invest in the squad and to build a team which can achieve success both at home and in Europe.’ Are they effin serious?

  21. If tony ralston has got another deal ,then I’m afraid that for me shows our ambition for the coming season . Worrying times . Was up at the ticket office on Monday renewing my season , There would be lucky if there was a dozen waiting in line . Last season at this time the queue was way up to the top of the new road .

the press are not doing Billy Gilmour a favour proclaiming him

a saviour at such a young age and after just one full cap

  23. How many players find a new impetus under a new coach ,Ralston may surprise us yet .Good luck to the lad .

  24. HAIRLIKESPAGHETTI and JAMES FORREST

I apologise unreservedly for my post of last night suggesting that you are one and the same poster. 🤐😐

HAIRLIKESPAGHETTI, Thank you for your comment at 5:50am, this clearly shows that you are not; my apologies.

I do take exception to your description of me as ‘a fully paid up acolyte and self-appointed blog moderator’, and I would hate to think that this is how I am perceived on the blog. For the record, I know nothing of Paul67 and have no association with him other than having followed his blog since the early days, and I find myself as often at odds with his lead article as in agreement. As for moderating, yes, I do sometimes call something out if it really offends my sensibilities, and I do not apologise for that. I stick mostly to the football, I like music, and I avoid the politics and religion.

One thing I hope we can all agree on is that we are (mostly) ALL a Family of Celtic Supporters on here with Celtic’s best interests at heart, and will occasionally fall out, despite our very many differences in commenting styles. 😊 🍀 Yes, our Club, and this Blog, is open to all. 😊 🍀

Take Care, Keep Safe, God Bless and Hail Hail! 😊 🍀

    Yours in Celtic,

    Debate about Ralston?

Been seen as a bit player by manager after manager.

No debate. Just not good enough.

  26. Honestly don’t think Ralston is going to be first choice right back (no basis for this admittedly) but happy to have youth players as reserve. It appears like youth players will get some chances to prove themselves under Ange. Which I like 🍀

My favoured model is producing, coaching our own talent from the academy.

This done well will always need some key first team signings, which I also expect.

  27. As a Celtic and Scotland fan, I want both teams to win their every game. Higher expectations for Celtic.

As a UK national, I can’t understand the inconsistency around application of covid rules. It’s mind blowing. Seems arbitrary and perhaps a little subjective.

On Ralston, decent squad player. I’d hope we have greater plans to claw back a 25 point deficit

  28. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Morning all – season tickets renewed last night.

A decent signing would be a boost.

NorrieM – any way of knowing who Lindsell Train bought these 5.4m shares from?

Good posts earlier re: Billy Gilmour (the lad not the legend).

I was lukewarm about his performance last week (which I stand by) …

… but this ridiculous hype has the potential to put intolerable pressure on a teenaged human being.

    Reprehensible stuff from the media

    (as usual).

My post at 10.36 was more tongue in cheek, the way the media have hyped the young lad.
