KR Reykjavík recorded a 0-2 win in the Icelandic Cup on Sunday and have one more league game, against bottom club Thor on Thursday, before facing Celtic on Champions League duty a week today.
Celtic have a game this evening against LSK Linz before facing a famous name from our past, Dukla Prague, on Friday. While the world will be coming through a World Cup climb down Celtic will be facing a committed team in the mid-Atlantic. There is no room for complacency.
Next week’s qualifier has all the potential to cause a fright. Ronny Deila will by now know all about Gordon Strachan’s competitive start at Celtic, which cast a shadow he never completely shook off, so it is absolutely critical the manager gets us playing the way he wants us tonight.

A local church organization has it’s own soccer club, Charlotte United. They have missions to Brazil (and premises there) where they recruit young soccer players with the inducement that if they really commit to evangelicalism (ie Charlotte United Christian Church) they can be church sponsored to come and live in Charlotte in church owned accommodation and play “saccur” for the church semi-pro team.
Their roster/squad has about 12 Brazilians in it.

I think your alluding to Robert Kelly is totally wrong. For one thing, he wasn’t too keen to bring back Jock Stein. He preferred Sean Fallon, as he saw him as doing his bidding. He also took some persuading to allow Jock to have proper control.

Someone posted earlier in the WC that they were surprised that the crowd at Brazil’s games didn’t bear much resemblence to their multicultural society, just watched there and he was right, while not exclusively white there wasn’t much of a mix compared from what I saw yet the beaches where the big screens are are mostly black/mixed race or indigenous. Make of that what you will…………………..

Brilliant news that Celtic won 5-2 with 10 men, whilst being worked very hard in Pre-Season, a Pukki hattrick as well, Good News day, hopefully there are many more of those days to come in this season. I love a guy who is written off and then becoming a hero.
