Going one better next season

943

We had a special night at the Celtic Supporters’ Association’s 67th Annual Rally last night.  It was great to see our two treble winning captains: Tom Boyd giving praise to the giant of the European game, Billy McNeill.

I had a chat with Scott Brown, who received his Association Player of the Year award.  A day before he collects his fourth consecutive league championship trophy you’d think he would afford a moment of satisfaction, but he’s not happy this isn’t a treble winning season.  The events at Hampden last month have left an open wound.  All he could talk about was going one better next season.

Before you leave for the game tomorrow remember to bring along some change to buy a Ronny Roar badge to raise funds for the work of your Foundation.  See you there.

  1. SDB,

One thing I won’t miss today is doing the huddle the wrong way round, facing away from the team, it’s like excluding them

  2. canamalar,

    Indeed, there’s that spirit again.

I have an uncle out your way who is a transport manager for one of the oil companies.

Auntie is a sublime cook. I should put you in touch with them.

  3. So here we are….. Flag day, party time.

As usual, I’m up with lark.

Big fry up on the go, may be some time before food is taken again.

No matter how many times we are champions , the feelings are the same.

We are always the underdog , even after Rankers died. Our championships are a victory for the good ghuys.

Yes, we have issues which I struggle with but none so great we can’t overcome .

God bless this crazy fitba club and have a good day in Paradise boots

    Hail Hail

  4. canamalar,

Not sure. Not an out and out footie fanatic. Workaholic and amateur archeologist in what spare time he has.

Still, a Tim none the less. A great wine collection too if you’re into that sort of thing.

    Bucky or El Dee ????

The old Tonto is now averaging £7 @ bottle these days, our corner shop had a Christmas special 2 btls for a tenner, I never liked the stuff seemed like a very thick cough bottle medicine too me, although the vino conisours of my scheme loved it, I was a kiddion drinker, blue label Thunderbirds was my tipple, it was a growing up stage I went through although 1989 Joe Miller final was celebrated with bottles of Old England Sherry & packets of pickled onion crisps to make you thirsty enough to drink that stuff, nobody can steal your memories !

Lookin’ forward to goin’ to the game today, and seein’ the Champions pick up their fourth in a row.

My new season resolution for 15-16 is to get to more games; my attendance this year, for various feeble reasons, has been pretty erratic.

We’ve definitely made progress; playin’ some good football and scorin’ some good goals.

Fingers crossed next season we perform a lot better in Europe.

  9. Morning all, up bright and early as usual. After 2 big sessions in gym Thu and Sat will have a small one today, hopefully no hip injury relapse.

Looking forward to today, party then few beers with couple of old mates in town. Aprt fron the Orcs result it’s been a decent weekend all round hopefully that will continue…..going to ignore the nonsense going on over in Govan.

As I always say, the real problem lies with the SFA and their fear of the ref’s association, wonder what they have on them?

    Hail! Hail!

    4-0 would be brilliant.

Hope we can finish the season with a memorable performance and score a few.

It would be brilliant if we can keep a clean sheet so we break that defensive record.

Gordon, Denayer and Van Dijk have been outstanding and have made our profligacy up front not as big an issue as it could have been.

  20. Thunder Road on

    Anyway……better get my finger oot….
