Going one better next season

943

We had a special night at the Celtic Supporters’ Association’s 67th Annual Rally last night.  It was great to see our two treble winning captains: Tom Boyd giving praise to the giant of the European game, Billy McNeill.

I had a chat with Scott Brown, who received his Association Player of the Year award.  A day before he collects his fourth consecutive league championship trophy you’d think he would afford a moment of satisfaction, but he’s not happy this isn’t a treble winning season.  The events at Hampden last month have left an open wound.  All he could talk about was going one better next season.

Before you leave for the game tomorrow remember to bring along some change to buy a Ronny Roar badge to raise funds for the work of your Foundation.  See you there.

  2. After my 50 years of living in Ireland, I am glad to see that all of our citizens are equal.

I was at 6 o’clock mass to night in the Sacred Heart and at no time did I feel that the Christian ideal was to discriminate.

    Gordon64 at 0.02.

At the Jam’s last Apollo gig, Paul Weller did a guitar intro instead of that in the single. The crowd thought it was a new song at first.

It caught us off guard but sounded great.

  7. Thanks guys, all my years and those were my formative years I don’t remember even hearing about that though I do remember seeing people carrying what looked like green and white stars and stripes being americanised took longer than expected eh :)

Gordon 64, apologies re my last post to you. Paul Weller did a guitar intro to Going Underground rather than the intro in it’s recorded version.

Roy Croppie, when the Jam’s Boy about Town comes on my MP3, I always play it a number of times on repeat.

Its just a great song and the brass in it makes it even better.

Gerryfaethebrig, thank you. Your dad will belooking down and smiling as we enjoy our title win.

I want my son and myself to revel in us winning the league again (fly the flag, fly the flag).

I have some street cred with him as I know one of the heid honchos in the Green Brigade.

He should savour what we have going now with regard to what previous generations of our support suffered in the late forties, fifties and early sixties along with those in our support who endured the torment from 1989 to 1997 and Wattenacio in the noughties.
