Guidetti and Scepovic complete Celtic line-up

999

Things looked touch and go earlier today but Celtic pulled a late double swoop to sign John Guidetti on loan from Manchester City, and Stefan Scepovic on a four year deal from Sporting Gijon.  Guidetti has been a Celtic transfer rumour since his 20 goals in 23 games stint at Feyenoord as a teenager in 2011-12.  Now he’s on board, I’m holding out for news of Georgi Kinkladze.

Stefan Scepovic could have played his hand better over the last 24 hours; footballers are seldom accused of over-intellectualising their plans.  Late interest from La Liga looked to have dealt Celtic a body-blow, but he’s ours now, and I’m pleased we got someone who was wanted by Spanish scouts.

That’s us finished for the summer window.  Welcome to Celtic, John, Stefan.

  1. No point arguing about the result, we’ll find out soon enough.

I’m looking forward to the 19th.

I just hope we don’t see too much of the ugly side of nationalism but I fear the result might be too much for some who’ve been daft enough to believe the hype.

  2. That Falcao wage is ridiculous, over a season Man U will play say 30 home games to 75k crowds. Falcao will take £24m including loan fee to pay that works out at each paying customer is contributing £10+ per home game to pay him alone?

More than a little me thinks.

CQN is a middle of the road blog, and even on here the troops were getting restless, many of the others were sharpening the pitchforks.

It’s amazing what a couple of players in and a few out can do for moral.

I agree re the stuff on the pitch, the coaches don’t have much time to get things rolling tho, new faces, new tactics take time, we will win the league, as for europe, getting out of the group will be hard enough, I will be surprised if we do.

Wiil be interesting to see what the line up is for the sheep game, hopefully most are fit.

Each day is an adventure and to be grasped with both hands.

    To hell with the begrudgers!

Now, do we have a team or not? Time will tell but hopefully we have a few guys who will now ask questions of a defence.

    Good evening everybody.

Two strikers good. Too late though.

    Squad trimmed. Good.

    I wouldn’t worry about the Serb’s u-turns. I wish him well.

The other guy scored lots of goals in the Dutch league but that league is crap defensively. However he has a lot.of admirers. Good luck to him also.

The UFH will be at home stroking its pussy and throwiing darts at Andy Walker pictures. The La Liga rule again shows that Hand is very lucky.

Ronny, will wake up tomorrow a new man.

He has been given the chance he needs to get the team playing and scoring like a Celtic team, which, with the strike force he had prior, must have been causing him sleepless nights, as it did with most of us.

Where are you getting all this stuff about divisions in Scottish Labour? As far as I know the only Labour ‘Yes’ people are disaffected Councillors fired because they were too lazy to do constituency work.

  21. Decided not to go to bed just yet, no work to bother about, being an OAP has its advantages. Maybe last Tuesday’s and yesterday’s displays were not as bad outcomes as we all thought. It might have convinced PL and co that they had to firstly not sell VVD and they better get a couple of new strikers in and the dross out. Then of course the reaction from the fans might have influenced their thinking. I feel a lot better about my teams position than I did when I got out of bed this morning. I am not kidding myself that everything in the Celtic garden is rosy, but i live in hope. Over to you Ronny, your team, your methods, I wish you success, of course I do.

The Guidetti Foundation is the charity foundation of the Manchester City FC and Swedish National team player John Guidetti. Although Swedish, John Guidetti’s paternal grandfather came from Italy and his great grandfather has Brazilian roots, he has lived twice in Kenya when his familly worked with a Swedish school project in Nairobi.

John credits a lion share of his football achievements playing with older kids in the poorer slum areas of Kibera and Mathare Nairobi as one important step in his football development.

Helping young talented people in all walks of life is something that is very close to John Guidetti’s personal concerns. Therefore John Guidetti is now initiating the John Guidetti Foundation “that aims to support talented young people that share the passion for, with special skills in -football- a bit more of a sporting chance to follow in his footsteps in their strive to achieve a professional footbaling success.

Given that Jamesie is usually injured unfortunately and that Broonie got injured in one of the first friendlies, then I think that maybe ‘needs must’ should have been the order of the day.
