CELTIC’S Under-20s champions are the new ‘Invincibles’ after completing their Development League season unbeaten with a 2-1 win over Motherwell on Friday.

Tommy McIntyre’s side, who clinched the title early last month, won 28 and drew four of their 32 matches, scoring 71 goals and conceding just 15.
The young Hoops will be presented with the Under-20 trophy at tomorrow’s game against Aberdeen at Parkhead.unspecified-46

Hamilton were second in the table, with last season’s winners Aberdeen in third place and St Johnstone fourth.

With teenager Kieran Tierney already having progressed to the first team and numerous young Celts out on loan, including Henderson at Hibs and Duffy at Alloa, the success of the Development Squad is even more impressive.
Celtic’s strategy which Ronny Deila was brought in to develop further, is certainly showing very encouraging signs at the Development level and indeed with the U17s. Ronny, perhaps to his own detriment, has shown a considerable interest in these young Celtic sides.
We may well be getting the benefits of having Ronny Deila as our managers years after he has left the club.
Just hope that this is appreciated by the support. He deserves a great send off.
