As far as I am concerned, Liel Abada is not getting enough game time. I understand why Jota is one of the first names on the team sheet and I see the value Daizen Maeda brings, but Celtic seem so much more productive when Adaba is on the field, so talk of Celtic chasing another winger was unexpected.
With James Forrest also in the squad, the wide attacking positions appear fully subscribed. Jota will play, Abada will continue to develop, Maeda will contribute plenty and Forrest will largely provide cover. Why then, are we linked to Sead Haksabanovic?
The Swedish-born, Montenegrin international will undoubtedly provide value for whichever club rescues him from his contract at relegated Russian club Rubin Kazan. Without either Jota and Maeda, you would see the sense, but with both?
The only way this makes sense is if Celtic, three weeks into the season, are already coming under pressure for a prized asset. Which, itself, actually makes sense.

Well it’s been a strange couple of days on here. Yesterday the red warning warning lights were flashing about the threat of a rampant Sevco – work was needed.
Today, we’re positioning ourselves to lose a big player.
It’s difficult to reconcile todays article with yesterday’s warnings.

Dear God,
They are all out in the open now,led on by Chairbhoys post from yesterday. You always notice after one of his ,past wallowing, anti Board, anti PL posts, all the ones who let this eat away at them, and let it colour their present view of Celtic, come teeming out of the woodwork.
Its gone,in the past.I don’t know any fans who are happy at what went on,but most I know, never mention it.What’s the point?.Some people just love wallowing in misery. For me,to be avoided.Life’s too short,to still be raging at what happened 10 years ago.The amount of success we have had in that period, just makes it more incomprehensible to me.
Ange is on record as saying,”We could do with another couple in,we hope to get them, depending on if they are right for the team”Does no one ever remember what he says?.Seems not.An excellent player gets mentioned, and the mob are out with pitchforks.”Jota,Abaca,JJ” will be sold.BOLLOX.
Only player sold will be one that wants to go.
Away back and wallow some more.

Did you reader the header today?

“Shitebag panic merchants”, superb turn of phrase there sir! Laughed out loud.
I am relatively relaxed about the speculation regarding a possible move of one of our assets.
If we wish to attract players to sign for us we have to be an attractive destination.
Foreign players, and their agents know that Celtic has proved to be a well trodden stepping stone to bigger things.. ( mostly EPL).
I doubt that our presence in the Champions League is as big a factor as we believe.. ( especially if we get slaughtered by Pot 1 and Pot 2 teams)
Celtic had an option to buy , everything agreed and binding between the clubs.
We did not have to exercise the option, I assume that the option could also be voided if Jota had said Não.
If we were to lose Jota (even if it was for £35m) I would be dissapointed….
but not as dissapointed as I would have been if Jota , and his agent , had blocked our “option to buy” ….and then sat patiently for the inevitable bid from EPL.
The Onlooker.
Chillingout CSC
we canny sell jota anyways,
we were told at tnd of season, he is never coming to celtic, they should have bought him earlier, the price isnt right, the contract isnt right, he is away on holiday for ever jst so he doesnt have to come to celtic …….

Totally agree.
Yesterday P67 saying we need more quality in the squad for the threat of sevco.
Today hes saying a valuable player in the squad is going.
So we would be weakening rather than strengthening.
And this with a probable biggest turnover coming up this season with our biggest ever amount earned through champions league, every season ticket sold and every match sold out.
Talk of £140 for the 3 match package which will all be snapped up.
The club very much in the black.
The board well aware that with sevco last season doing well in Europe that the excuse of not being able to compete is nonsense.
Of course the level of clubs we draw will be a very high but a third place finish should not be discounted.
In order to compete then selling a prize asset should not be considered this window.
You would think most players have release clauses now, so if a bid that triggers that for any our players comes in we can do nothing about it. That is unless we try to renegotiate with them but you would say at that point the player holds the power over both clubs involved.
Years ago I was at Abu Dhabi airport waiting for boarding confirmation on a staff travel ticket with a load of other people. Message goes round that another flight has been cancelled and first class passengers from that flight would be getting on our plane and we’d be stuck in Abu Dhabi. Panic ensued, everyone rushed to the check-in desk shouting in many different languages, some threw their passports over, another looked like he was going to jump over the desk. It was mayhem.
Even so , it was still calmer than on here.
In fairness Paul didn’t say anyone was going, he said it’s hard to make sense of new ghuy coming unless someone was going.
Does Paul still have the inside track on what’s happening or is he just speculating like the rest of us.
Next fortnight is going to be jittery by the looks of things.

Talking of transfers, embdae heard of this guy? Totally ridiculous money.
———–
Morgan Gibbs White. £42.5 m plus add ons. Wolves to Forrest.
To answer the question. No, I have never heard of this guy. A quick Google search shows a 22 year old with an indifferent start to his career. Two loan spells and England under 16 to 21 caps.
A lot of money for potential.
But this is the game we are in, like it or not.
We fight back with :
CL football
Legendary, passionate atmospheric crowds.
The promise to grow the player and a move to a ” bigger” club and a bigger league.
The lure of domestic thropies won’t sway a modern agent.

Paul67 – Brilliant thought provoking piece today
If the self inflicted speculation is accurate and Jota is the name on the menu
It simply becomes a case of how much
£10m – no thank you and hang up
£15m – no thank but we appreciate the call
£20m – look everyone has a price you are making us think – call back tomorrow
£25m – the manager is furious as he does not want to sell but the board are interested
£30m – FFS you just wont leave it – I think you have acquired a very talented footballer – we want 20% sell on
Now how do we spell this new guys name
67ECW
Greenpinata- that’s exactly where we are mate, but if and when clubs are interested in our players, this transfer and others, need referenced by us,2 clubs who will finish in bottom half of EPL spending £45 million on a nobody.

Players need regular game time to gain match sharpness and show their best qualities. Also the psychological effect of knowing there is possibly 2-3 guys ahead of you. We have too many wingers – need to lose one unless he sees new guy in a deeper number 10 role. (Rogic replace , Oreily competition)
As you all know – I’m not happy unless we solve the DF position.
DM rather
SPL set to extend the transfer window to allow clubs more time to get all of Celtic’s best players.
Well just in and read this article and its three pages, congratulations to SFTB & Chairbhoy for stimulating posters to discuss things over the past 24 hours 👍👏👏👏

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Guys,
Subsequently, how do we make lScottish football more attractive?
We should consider staggered summer football. Extended winter breaks.
The cons : Holidays Tradition.
The pros :
Not competing against the noisy neighbours. Possibly a better TV deal.
More favourable conditions to Watch footie. Better and safer travelling conditions.
Less energy costs to clubs with lighting etc
Better pitches. ( more incentive to get rid of plastic )
HH.
PS : Norway and Sweden ( And Ireland ) have summer football and seemingly have no problem with European football dates.

There is always going to be speculation of players.i agree. One thing often omitted is the world Cup so if a player is playing regularly and in the team there is more of a chance of a world Cup call,Jota, ccv and juranovic.all have going there after playing champions league
HH
Lambert 14,
I don’t mean to be offensive, but you are one of the ones I was talking about ,as you well know.We have had discussions before.
I don’t care what Paul is saying. Not one of our star players will be leaving, unless they want to.
Do you ever listen to what Ange says?
If any one goes,it will be MJ.Not a surprise to anybody.

Excellent post.
Amazing that there are still some who can’t/don’t/won’t/don’t want to see what has been happening (and is still happening).
I must say, going by most of your posts, you are well named. We all know what happened 10 years ago.Been spoken about Ad Nauseum on here, but not among most of the support, who have moved on.
Please explain,”What’s still happening now”
Apart from winning, which I must say, never seems to please you.
A nonsense Leader (to follow the one yesterday) leading to more nonsense comments.
The Haksabanovic is all but done and none of our first team regulars will be moving out the door. However, expect Mikey Johnston to move on this window so we will have the same number of wingers/utility payers as before. Jota, Forrest, Abada as out and out wingers with Maeda and Haksabanovic as wingers/utility forwards. Don’t forget that unless we bring in another top notch striker, we only have Kyogo and Giamakouis for that role so Haksabanovic makes absolute sense, not a sign that we are selling.
KTF
Hopefully we can keep all the players that are making this one of the most enjoyable ever Celtic teams to watch.
Seeing the togetherness from the whole squad when Carl scored said so much.
And 1 or 2 youngsters breaking through this Season would be just awesome. Fingers crossed.
There is trepidation going up against Europes strongest (money wise) Clubs but I think we will do well. IMO Callum is essential for us to get the 10 points.
Ange is the Man.
VFR
Thanks for that, knew nothing about him, if he can play up front then good that makes sense👍

i’m not aware of Ange saying that no-one of our top players would be sold.
People are reacting to P67s header as he is seen as the boards conduit for leaking plans or things that will happen.
Can someone drive Jota to the airport
Succession planning is the name of the game for Ange, if it’s Jota, and he continues his early season form and performs as we expect at Champions League level we’d be mad to expect to see him in the Hoops for the 23-24 season. I don’t doubt we’ve had ‘enquiries’ but I suspect they’ve been told to come back at the end of the season…and bring a HUGE bag of cash.
BADA BING!! on 18TH AUGUST 2022 1:45 PM
Crystal Palace were looking at Abada last season, maybe the interest is still there…..
It might well be,why not, although I don’t think he is anywhere near the finished article.
But only if he wants to go.Ange would beat the CQNrs,and drive him to the airport.
mibbies its MJ , naw he’s no that big, or maybe its julien he’s big.
see the players who left us last 3 seasons or so, as in real sales dawn sarf, other than the big money, who has went onto greater things ?
To think this Blog was set up to combat lazy journalism.

I don’t think Jota’s pinpoint crossing has met his standards frae Last Season (2nd half) but its early doors. :)
He is Top Drawer.
