Haksabanovic makes no sense until you look deeper

354

As far as I am concerned, Liel Abada is not getting enough game time.  I understand why Jota is one of the first names on the team sheet and I see the value Daizen Maeda brings, but Celtic seem so much more productive when Adaba is on the field, so talk of Celtic chasing another winger was unexpected.

With James Forrest also in the squad, the wide attacking positions appear fully subscribed.  Jota will play, Abada will continue to develop, Maeda will contribute plenty and Forrest will largely provide cover.  Why then, are we linked to Sead Haksabanovic?

The Swedish-born, Montenegrin international will undoubtedly provide value for whichever club rescues him from his contract at relegated Russian club Rubin Kazan.  Without either Jota and Maeda, you would see the sense, but with both?

The only way this makes sense is if Celtic, three weeks into the season, are already coming under pressure for a prized asset.  Which, itself, actually makes sense.

I’m an auld yin and being on this site through various server breakdowns and moniker changes but

Jesus H……this is wan f***ed up place. CQN used to be a good read…..but now?

  2. Haksabanovic made his professional debut for Swedish side Halmstads at just 15 and his former coach Jan Jonsson – who gave the Hoops target his chance – believes Celtic, and Postecoglou are the perfect fit for his development.

He said: I feel he now needs to move again and Celtic would be the perfect club for him.

“It’s a big club with Champions League football this season and it would really suit his strengths.

“I am very familiar with Postecoglou’s style from our time together in Japanese football.

“Creative players will enjoy his way of playing and I know Sead would enjoy it.

“For me, it would be the ideal place and the ideal coach for the next stage of his development.

“I last spoke to him a few weeks ago and I wish him all the best in the future.

“Sead is a good player and a great character. He has the talent to go and be a success at Celtic, if it happens.

“I like Sead coming in off the left in a 4-3-3 — he can be very effective in that area.

“But it all depends on the formation Celtic play. He is also very good as a No 10.

“So if Postecoglou wants to play with one or two attacking midfielders, then he is very comfortable there.

“Sead is a good, creative player and I am sure he would fit in with Celtic, no matter which system they use.”

The divisions generally split along two fault lines

    1. Scotland’s constitutional question. This fault line developed at the time of the referendum.

    2. Attitude towards the Board. This fault line became more pronounced when the huns went bust.

The standard of debate and discussion has gradually got worse as attitudes have hardened and become more polarised.

  4. Oh dear – Mind Control is on patrol.

    Enjoy your day, Celts.

Good morning all from Govanhill. What a read back that was.

BRB, didn’t take me long to be honest. Just scroll by the crap spouted continuously by the usual suspects and hey presto you are good to go.

Up in Pilochry and just about to head out for a lovely day’s walking so no doubt will get to apply the same process of catching up later.

Was keeping an eye on that game last night, delighted for Neil, cracking goal from ex-Hibee (also ex-Hun) Barker… ex-Celt Adam Matthews was also playing for the Cypriots, had a feeling Tom Rogic might have been a target for Lenny, and I will be over the moon if both Nicosia & the Huns are even just in the draw for the Europa sections :-)

  10. Fourstonecoppi,

I agree totally about this blog being a very hard read these day’s. It used to be my place to come to for a good read about our club, but sadly today’s debate’s for all things Celtic has been relegated to arguments and horrible political stances, that real supporters stay well clear from.

I very rarely come on to the blog these day’s but rather come on to read the stories posted on a daily basis at the side of the main blog. If i do come on to the blog, i mainly skip about two thirds of the posters with their acronym’s galore and spiteful comments, and try and find some meaningful content about our club.

  12. To save me reading back, was their any insight into what prized asset we are under pressure to sell?

I would come to a different conclusion. Let’s be honest, MJ is considered surplus to requirement and JF is not pushing for regular first team action. That leaves us Jota, Abada and Maeda. We therefore need one more wide player to provide real competition and back up to the three of them.

Jota and Abada will pick up injuries, that is inevitable in the SPFL. Maeda looks more robust and less likely to be targeted by the cluggers.

I would say it was Montevideo because the tunnel in Lisbon was wide enough for both teams to walk out together.

I disagree, ignoring is being kind for the poster I believe you have in mind.

  16. garygillespieshamstring on

I think Montevideo as the players are turning to the right emerging from the tunnel while in Lisbon it is a left turn towards the pitch.

So the reason Kev and his many alter ego’s get ignored or a negative response is because of his opinions on Scottish politics or the board? I think thats crap. I ignore him because he’s a pain in the arse, I DGAF about his opinions.
