As far as I am concerned, Liel Abada is not getting enough game time.  I understand why Jota is one of the first names on the team sheet and I see the value Daizen Maeda brings, but Celtic seem so much more productive when Adaba is on the field, so talk of Celtic chasing another winger was unexpected.

With James Forrest also in the squad, the wide attacking positions appear fully subscribed.  Jota will play, Abada will continue to develop, Maeda will contribute plenty and Forrest will largely provide cover.  Why then, are we linked to Sead Haksabanovic?

The Swedish-born, Montenegrin international will undoubtedly provide value for whichever club rescues him from his contract at relegated Russian club Rubin Kazan.  Without either Jota and Maeda, you would see the sense, but with both?

The only way this makes sense is if Celtic, three weeks into the season, are already coming under pressure for a prized asset.  Which, itself, actually makes sense.

    Can’t see Celtic selling Jota even if a big offer comes in or Abada for that matter. Of course Lawwell who is still stinking stinking the place out would do what beancounters do grab the money and run.

     

     

    The next exit would be Ange as he will not hang around and be taken for a fool.

     

     

    With the politburo caught in the headlights it would a repeat of the TIAR fiasco season with Bankier & Lawwell going into hiding as some no mark shower appoimtment dismantles Anges work.

     

     

    That’s how quickly it turns in Glasgow and the Rodgers to Lennon decline would be repeated.

     

     

    Lose Ange and the whole thing falls apart and selling key players will make this a reality.

    CELTIC have announced a whopping profit of £27.6MILLION in their interim report for the first half of the season.

     

     

    The figure includes a massive £26million on player sales such as Odsonne Edouard to Crystal Palace, Kristoffer Ajer to Brentford and Ryan Christie to Bournemouth.

     

     

    Ange Postecoglou was appointed the long-term successor to Neil Lennon in June last year as the Hoops kicked off a new era in the 2021/22 campaign.

     

     

    Peter Lawwell left his post as chief executive around the same time and Michael Nicholson was eventually appointed as the Parkhead side’s new supremo after replacing Dom McKay.

     

     

    For the first part of the season, the club’s revenue also increased by a huge 29.9 per cent to £52.9million compared to £40.7million in 2020.

    I’m genuinely baffled how we would be able to sign a Russian based player at this time.

     

    Surely it would have to be a free transfer as any money going to a Russian club / business would be hit with sanctions.

     

     

    UEFA football rules would not be able to supercede government. Would we get a work permit for example.

     

     

    Maybe it’s straightforward, but this could be a minefield ( Pardon the pun )

     

     

    Is there a recent precedent for this ?

    We could have and what we most definitely should have done was take up UEFA director Andrea Traverso’s invitation to send all the details so diligently, painstakingly, and time-consuming work by Auldheid BRTH in obtaining irrefutable evidence that ole Rangers cheated and lied in respect of the wee tax case thereby gaining access to C/L funds and denying Celtic their rightful place, the first paragraph in letter 2016 from Traverso

     

     

    ” We refer to your correspondence dated 27 May 2016 and understand that you are acting for a group of shareholders in Celtic PLC. It is not the general policy of EUFA to write directly to lawyers representing unidentified clients and if this matter that a MEMBER club of the SFA (i.e. CELTIC) wishes to take UP with UEFA then that club should do so directly.

     

     

    Copies of this letter were sent to the SFA and Celtic FC.

     

     

    Andrea Traverso called out Celtic FC and stated clearly if you got a legitimate complaint, a bona fide case to make of blatant cheating and disregard for the rules then as a MEMBER club you have the right CELTIC FC to make that complaint and EUFA will investigate, only a MEMBER club can make the case, ergo only Celtic FC

     

     

    PL and DD bottled it, Celtic bottled it, nothing to do with Scottish society, Government, or media, Celtic failed to make the complaint, WHY ? Well it wasn’t in Celtics’ financial interest, that’s it folks simple
