But Rony does make his own fist-pumping decisions. Trying to ingratiate himself with many of our (still) dubious fans, to amplify his managerial abilities (or lack thereof) doesn’t impress me. Reminds me of Jim Melrose’s desperate attempts to curry favour with the fans in the early 80s, when he just wasn’t good enough.

I’m surprised the blog seems happy with the performance today.

I’m becoming more and more worried at the on field (lack of) style in our performances.

I’d hoped to see some signs of change by now. Perhaps I’ve missed them ?

Being brutal about it we look like an average SPFL team slugging it out with Hamilton, Ross County etc.

    Well done Celtic,a fine victory.

Well done to our wonderful away support.

Time for PL to back his choice for manager.

Time for PL to give us a proper Celtic striker.

Not sure what you mean. Why don’t you stop dissing the fellow fans and say how happy you are to be a Tim?

    It’ll be a wee bit cathartic for you,feel good,everyone’s a winner.

And if you feel like it,nip over to Belfast and have a good time with some of the people you diss just because you can.

    Naw?

    Ok.

    We’ll send you a postcard.

You still going on about Jim Melrose dipping his naan in yer korma in the oul’ Ashoka ?

    Forgive and forget hehehehe

BCW…..I believe that considering the level of talent

we have in our squad we are doing well.

Should the Celtic squad have more talent? well that’s

    a whole other matter.

Great to be sitting beside Wee Jay and his dad Martin today at the game. What an inspiration to all Celtic supporters that wee bhoy is. Izzy gave him his shirt and the wee man went crazy with delight. Magic moment.

  8. To be fair to the manager, every time Commons made an appearance earlier in the season, either as a starter or a sub, he was dire. He looked off the pace and unfit and his first touch was dreadful.

To me, he never really deserved a starting berth. He played well against Kilmarnock 2 weeks ago but the media and some fans went over the top with that performance. His finishing was shocking. If that had been Scepovic or Guidetti they would have been slaughtered.

I’ll be sorry to see him go but it’s his choice.

    Bring back Maloney.

We played better and created more chance in the game we lost and the game we drew.

Today we won without being very good, or indeed without being particularly dominant.

I thought the referee was MotM today.

Fair play to Hamilton and nice to see that a small club can actually host a game of football despite the inclement weather after all.

This was a professional routine win for Celtic who were a level above Hamilton and as you would expect they only troubled us, on the break where Jason Denayer established some calm in tandem with Virgil Van Dijk.

It was Adam Matthews who caught the eye today and upstaged Emilio Izzaguire with a strike of genuine quality after Kris Commons rolled the ball to him, along the Accies carpet.

Both full backs as wingers was too much for Hamilton, but it wasn’t a great spectacle on the tight pitch. Brown won the midfield scrapping as usual, and Johansen was busy but rarely had the ball at his feet.

Biton had a stroll, and Kris Commons will be disappointed his ‘last game’ for Celtic ended without a sign off goal. The transfer window is certain to see comings and goings.

Hopefully KC not for the off, but you never know with football especially CFC.

Strikers still not getting the service to score goals. We need to turn that possession into goal scoring opportunities.

JD MOTM for me, head and shoulders above big Virg today, he may just end up at one of those EPL clubs if he caught the eye of one of those scouts ;-) ……..

Don’t know what to make of sprinter sacre there, clearly not back to his best but will he ever be?

    Backed the winner anyway ..

    Ok back to the football

  13. This is a poor Celtic team, and we can’t be chasing a proven quality player like Commons out the door.

  14. 67Heaven .. CHALLENGING THE LIE ..I am wee Oscar / Neil Lennon.. Ipox belongs to the creditors on

    Here’s what I think……

Kris wants to stay, but Celtic are offering him a 1 year contract ……. But he wants a 2 year contract ……..with the gesture to our supporters aimed at ‘enlisting’ their support …..I think Kris should accept the 1 year contract on offer, and prove next season that he is good enough for another 1 year contract …… Luv the guy, but business is business….

  15. A few comments re performance being workmanlike, low on entertainment, not Celtic style, can’t disagree with those opinions, but this venue has produced similar performances under different Celtic managers with better players at their disposal, let us enjoy the fact that it was two high quality goals that got us the victory.

Bolton look to be doing mighty fine without KC so far, I think he will stay especially if that lovely wife of his wears the troosers

    Agree.

1st half was no great shakes on what looked like quite a bouncy pitch.

    2nd half decent.

    2 great goals.

    3 important points.

    I’ll take that today.

I think ground conditions had an effect today.

They weren’t bad, just not conducive to a quality game.

It was significant that Izzi, Bitton and Jason were our best players and also our most balanced players.

Kris’ best days for us are behind him, and today was ‘t one of his best.

Apart from his pass to Matthews, his contradiction was in the minus category.

Two wild attempts at goal with his right foot, summed up his game.

If he goes and I think he should, he goes with thanks and appreciation of his services to Celtic and it’s ethos.

His Celtic career peaked last season, playing in a style that, I believe, most of want to see the back of.
