Transexuality/gender is not a new phenomenon, physically, mentally or emotionally. Been around since Adam and Eve/big bang
Empathy and understanding has increased in recent years which has allowed increased confidence in people who were having a hard time fitting into society, never mind excelling and being genuinely happy.
We went through this with workers’ rights, religious rights, women’s rights, disabled rights, gay rights and now transgender rights.
On each occasion there was a backlash from the those who supported the status quo and could not see what the issue was or feel empathy.
On each occasion there was needed to be an over compensation (perceived or real) to allow fairness to settle, e.g., too much power in certain unions, Catholic schools, women only lists, 3% quotas, outing public figures etc.
I see the same process playing out now with transgender issues and the next generation will not see it as an issue hopefully.
