  1. bluegrass celt on 25th May 2019 6:36 pm

Well the happy clappers won the battle. Thought this site was more diverse but looks like I was on a hiding to nothing all along with the majority.

    ————————-

I’m happy clapper and I think the board have made a big mistake apponting Lenny.

Strange that they waited until after we’d won, why not months ago? What would’ve happened if we’d lost today?

  2. thousands on the streets at the salt market,

when celtic first took the cup home to saint marys hall in 1892 i wonder what route they took, all these years later, there is something quite fitting about being back in the calton with the cup. only thing they might have done was finish it at saint marys.

wonderful time to be a celt,

    well for most of us.

  3. The board seem to have promised Lennon the job if he delivered.

He did deliver but we have to look at the performances. We’ve laboured for 3 months and could have easily lost today.

The board had the opportunity to get a top manager in and unify the support after a difficult season.

They’ve blown it. My expectations for the transfer window are very low now.

Sevco fans will genuinely believe they’ve a chance next year and for the first time I think so too.

  4. There are no guarantees either in football or Life, if Mourinho was appointed it wouldn’t have guaranteed Titles. Yes over the last few weeks the football was poor but it was end of an extremely long season, the stakes were high in every game and it was all about getting over the line. I have no doubt there will be big changes in squad and we will start next season rejuvenated. P.S. Paddy Robert’s was at the game, hopefully a good omen.

AN DUN on 25TH MAY 2019 6:44 PM

100%. How many times have we watched us fail to kick on from a position of strength?

This is possibly the most important one. Cowards the lot of them.

  6. Go tell the Spartim on

Lenny is a special man that’s true

    Poor managerial appointment though

  7. Some of the most respected posters on here, including those with a good record for being in the know, called it wrong.

Going by what Neil said in his interview about the board being class and keeping their word, it’s fair to assume he was told the job was his if he delivered the treble.

Based on that alone, hats off to PL for not doing the dirty on Lenny.

I think Lenny will be backed strongly, just a hunch, and if he is then he may surprise a few on here. Including me. Hail, Hail.

  8. Hrvatski Jim on

I watched the match in the Cairngorms Hotel in Aviemore

Lots of Tims in the bar.

On leaving I met a couple of Tims who had gone outside for a smoke.

Handshakes all round with them but I spotted a couple sitting next to them. To put it mildly the guy looked “nonplussed’ so I went into audible overdrive that all our trophies were fully tax paid.

    The couple swiftly left

    Karma is wonderful.

  9. Performance average.

    Never in doubt ??? ? ??? ? ???

If it’s NFL he gets my full support next season.

Greetings from the Market Inn in Ayr a ‘right guid Tim ?pub!

  10. TheLurkinTim on

Jeezo…some peeps on here already throwing in the towel re next season…you wouldn’t want any one of them next to you in the trenches…

  11. Trébol is Spanish for Shamrock!!

Thank you Odsonne, love the way you put them away.

Thank you Lustig, you have surprised me but you were heads and shoulders above them all

Thank you ScoBro, yir a good scottish lad that always shows up

Thank you CalMac, best left foot since Tommy Burns

Thank you Bain, you have been gigantic

Let´s use this to move onto even greater heights.

    Hail hail

Remembering those who are no longer with us….Glen Daly would have loved it.

  12. TheLurkinTim on

Is Lustig for the off? Thought his interaction with Biton after the game was telling…could b talking sh#te tho…wouldn’t be the first or last time

  13. for those who actually went to the match, if you can catch up on the pre-match interview of michael stewart with Neil Lennon its very very insightful. much cooler, calmer, but still with that UFB look about him.

and it looked like a wee mazonic handshake between them at the end.

  14. The money will not be spent to back the manager. They have gone for as cheap option. No ambtion. he closet Hun at parkhead is Dermot Desmond

An impeccable source has informed me that Celtic’s new manager will be presented to the public at 4pm on Monday 27th May.

DAVID MOYES WILL BE THE NEW CELTIC MANAGER.

  16. Well, Neil Lennon wasn’t my choice but I hope that all Celtic supporters will get behind him and the players.

The board have made their decision. Let them now back it up.

I have a feeling we need a RB, another CB, and cover at LB. That for starters.

I would hope we start the new season with a midfield of McGregor, Rogic and Christie, with Ntcham providing the strength and power in winning the ball. They were the ones who played our best football this season.

Hopefully, Griffiths will be fit and we get another CF, allowing Odsonne to flourish.

  17. Neil is out new manager. That’s it. Settled. He’s done nothing wrong these last months, certainly no worse than the previously sainted previous manager. He did well when he was manager last time, getting to CL last 16, something the previously sainted previous manager was unable to do. It will be a tall order to match what he did before in Europe and it may not happen in year one, if at all. But ten in a row will be so good with Lenny. I can think of no one better to tell them what that means for them. What fun well have and others will ask, as we dance with joy, ‘Have they not suffered enough?’

  18. We’ve backed The Bhoys, now the Board need to back the Mhan………..

    no excuses, no confusion…………

    God help us all.

    HH

  19. DeniaBhoy, some called it right, Paul67 told me a couple of weeks ago it would happen like this, and so it did.

Would I have chosen Neil. I don’t think I would, but now he is here he has all the backing I can give him. I hope the Board back him too.

  20. 2 shots on target against a shite Hearts reserve team.

    Welcome to the future.

Gutted. Clearly keeping the huns close is still part of the club’s strategy.

Love Neil but he’s not good enough.

Celtic are Treble Treble Winners, and have now set a new World Record .. Congratulations to everyone involved in making this Dream come true.

  22. Call_of_Juarez on

Good luck Neil. I think you have a huge task on your hands breathing life back into this jaded team.

  23. At least James Forrest & Big Wavy should kiss and make up, after arguing (sniping) all week you both seem disappointed about Neil :-)

Like any other job in real life he was given a target (league & Scottish Cup) he succeeded

If you both think “we deserve better” maybe Celtic doesn’t suit your criteria

    Otherwise .. dry your eyes

In my lifetime Martin gave us a treble, now Brendan (mainly) and Neil (thankfully) have provided 3 on the trot

It’s about Celtic not the board :-)

  24. Rock Tree Bhoy on

How could we not offer Neil the job? To win the treble treble and push him out the door after he had stepped up the plate when BR let us all down flat – what kind of club would do that? Thankfully, not one that I support. Well done Celtic and Congratulations NFL.

Spoiled Brat Celtic Supporters – yir teas oot.

    KLV – its Mental!

  25. Why did they announce this straight after game? fairly cheered up all the huns in the media!

  26. glendalystonsils on

Lenny made a comment in post match interview about the slow sideways passing in the first half ‘not the way I want them to play’.

Perhaps there is a chance then , that with his own players and with time to coach them out of these bad habits , we might see whether he can indeed improve the product on the park , which has been withering for a while now.

If he can , then he is the right managerial choice . If he can’t then Peter better get an electric fence round his heated driveway.

  27. TheLurkinTim on

Stivs…av been to the docs a few times…am getting the help I need…thank you

  28. Huns will put on brave face about Neil’s appointment, if he accepts.

Maybe he has agreed in advance with PL to refuse the job anyway because PL would have been slaughtered for not making the offer.

  29. the big question everywhere is “why announce this the now”

I think this is mainly an internet thing

Why not just now ? Neil was giving a job to do … job done ✅

If we didn’t win today he would have been “let go” some Celtic internet fans are even saying it’s put a “downer” on today !!!!! Ffs a treble treble and we are now downsizing … maybe some actually deserve a downsize

Entitlement doesn’t just exist in Govan

    Neil Francis CSC ?

  30. Go tell the Spartim on

I see the ‘I’m a better Celtic fan than you ‘ clique are on.

Footballs been disappointing this calendar year .

Proof is in the pudding and I wish NFL all the very best ???

  31. GFTB

If you think Neil is the best we can get knock yourself out. I disagree. If you’re happy with a guy sacked by Bolton and Hibs then fine. I don’t.

It’s a dull, safe, yes-man appointmenrt from a guy who, as much as I respect him personally, is a massive drop down from where we’ve been.

The timing of it is calculated because the Celtic world is currently full of dewy-eyed, pissed-up romantics who can’t see the wood from the trees. The board know that.

  32. ONENIGHTINLISBON on 25TH MAY 2019 6:39 PM

And what happened when BR didnt ?

    Relax & enjoy the moment.

I will support whoever is our manager.
