I think sparky is the best striker we have had since Henk and although he is a Hibee he gets Celtic.Well done Ronny you are beginning to get the best out of him it is time Stokes took a leaf out of sparkys book. H.H.

  4. I think our development squad would have beaten that poor farts team tonight.

Third in oor league behind the rampant dons.

We need to get tae feck outa this league.

Hibs play Dundee Utd next week as Arabs played us on Sunday so couldn’t play last night, and can’t have both Embra teams at home on the same evening according to plod.

*It also gives he Hibees extra rest before sevco on Sunday.

No idea what ‘wrt discrimination’ is? But I can assure you .. Was you that started the posturing ..

I was enjoying the game .. Until you started your bitterness.

Stop being so angry .. I know you’re in a tiny minority ..

But, try no and drag the SNP BAD thing .. Into everything ..

It’s the BBC in the Union you desired and voted to stay in .. You won .. You’ve got your Tory government .. Wains getting rickets .. People who are committing suicide because of their sickness benefits being taken away and told they can work .. You’ve got people cueing outside food banks .. Got your tax credits cuts .. Rule Brittania!!

You’re living the British dream ..

    Ya bitter dobber!!

  9. I think those, myself included, highlighting the sloppy defending for their goal act as a reasonable counter-balance to those who tend to get carried away at times.

Same with questioning the performances of certain players.

Better that than kidding ourselves on that everything is hunky dory.

  10. Gerryfaethebrig on

Broony & Mackay-Steven withdrew from the original team lines, think more precautionary than anything serious

  11. Only saw the second half on a dodgy stream (Celtic TV pictures).

I thought we looked toothless until Leigh scored the opening goal. Thereafter we cruised.

We saw the two sides of Leigh tonight. His goal and assist was Larssonesque. However, the booking was due to absolutely stupid behaviour. He could have wheeled to the right and taken the acclaim of the Celtic fans. He didn’t. First, he ran behind the goal and headed for the hearts fans. Then he sank to his knees arms outstretched taunting them. Not content with that he ran back to the halfway line cupping his hand to his ear and just in case he hadn’t annoyed them quite enough he started blowing kisses at them.

I saw this on Celtic TV. I can only assume a dozen or so of you must have been watching another feed judging by the majority of the comments above.

    The yellow was well justified.

BTW it could have been worse. He also waded into the Celtic fans at the second goal. On a booking.

I reckon this is why Leigh is ignored by WGS. He’s a liability who just can’t help himself. I don’t think he’s maturing sufficiently. You never saw Dalglish, Larsson or Hooper behaving like that after scoring.

He’s our one man forward line and we can’t be having him sidelined by stupid suspensions.

Not been on the blog much recently due to several factors so I had to scroll back a fair bit to find out the story with ACGR – get yourself sorted ya flouncing fecker and back on the blog.

In other news, well done the Bhoys tonight. Inspired substitution by RD bringing Rogic on. Shows the difference your striker can make when he eventually gets some service. Well done LG permission granted to have an extra pack of Tunnock’s Teacakes tonight :-)

  13. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Griff’s booking reminded me of the the ridiculous booking Craig Bellamy got at the debtdome in 2005. I was amazed Leigh never got a second yellow when he celebrated with our fans after our second goal.

Great result tonight against a team who , shall we say, like to get in our faces.

Just saw the goals, magnificent by Griff at both.

Tom Rogic doing tonight what Ryan ‘corpus ‘ Christie was unlucky with last night. Ryan’s flick came off the post.

Always nice to beat the maroon balloons at their midden.

  14. Notthebus due to work commitments I have only been able to get updates via cqn. So haven’t seen the goals etc. Really pleased with the win though. Let’s hope,we can keep going.

  15. Jungle Jim Hot Smoked on

Whenever a corner for us results in a goal, it is perfectly acceptable. Whenever a corner for the opposition results in a goal, it is sloppy defending. Have I got that right?

    Buenos noches todo el monde,

We had 67% in the first half and I decidedly wasn’t happy. See my post at half time.

As I noted in my above post, Rogic changed the way we attacked in the 2nd half, and Griff delivered a terrific striking performance. Great stuff.

Prior to that, the game was playing out in familiar fashion. All seemed drolly predictable to be honest. Possession is worthless if you don’t use it. Our purpose in the first half when we got the ball, was to keep it. Hearts’ purpose was to get shots away. Both teams succeeded in their purposes. We had more possession, they had more attempts.

Trust that’s pretty evident and uncontroversial.

Anyway this is the country where I live, and apart from the the whole country I wouldn’t change a thing and more importantly we are back on the winning road, not sure if it is the right road but may as well go with it

  18. Tom Rogic’s diagonal run toward the front post, anticipating Leigh’s cross was sublime. I remember hearing Gary Lineker ( I know he’s a pain, but was a great striker) talking about how he worked on this ploy. He had great success with it as it attacks the ball and blindsides the defence.

So often at our games we see our forwards being static in the box. Tom’s initiative should be copied by others.

  21. Excellent result tonight,my mate was at the game and had the unfortunate experience having a smoke bomb let off right in front of him. A very unpleasant experience and this from our own supporters. If perchance any of them are reading this or anybody know any of the regular perpetrators would you care to explain why you/they do this? Yet another stick to beat our support with, as they said on “Chewin the Fat” Gonna no do that. H H Hebcelt

  22. I cringe/laugh at the paranoia that ensues when one of our own is booked for jumping the boards and celebrating with fans.

Every player is booked for this. Not just ours.

But Griffiths booking tonight was a disgrace.

The abuse the wee man gets is vile.

If smiling at the away fans and raising thumbs is a booking then heaven help us.

Acgr, sorry to hear you won’t be posting again.

You certainly cheered me up with most of your posts .

    Hopefully, you reconsider.

  26. Just 11 days ago it was Tom Rogic’s turn to be described as a waste of a jersey and someone we should punt.

Meanwhile, James Forrest, who had been in a fine run of form, got injured and missed our poor displays in narrowly beating Motherwell and losing abjectly to Molde, and there were posters pining for his return.

James returned tonight, made 3 flashy contributions ( an early audacious shot, a neat interchange with Lustig, and the cross which Armstrong should have scored from, but, overall he had a poor game.

In one 90 minute turnaround, Rogic has gone from flop to great White Hope and James has gone from being missed to canny wait to get rid.

We have to stop taking long term views of players based on the last one or two games. James Forrest, when fit, is a very effective footballer and one of the brightest talents in our squad. But, unfortunately, he is very rarely fit and, when he is, he takes a game or two to get back to full confidence. He got a run out tonight, it will do him good, but he deserved to come off.

Tom Rogic has been the very epitome of a Project player. His skill levels have always been very promising but, for his first two years, he looked too lightweight and every inch a player who had no real grounding or experience of the 11 a side game (think it was kitalba who was constantly pointing this out). Only this year has Tom looked like he has developed sufficient strength to cope with SPFL hammer thrower standards and the promise may yet be fulfilled. But he is nowhere near there yet. he is more than worth persevering with, but he has no record of experience or competing at Euro level or of being a standout in Australia’s tougher games.

I am glad that Tom was good tonight and I want to see him kick on. I expect JF to benefit from tonight’s run out and be better on his next outing, fitness permitting. I also expect Stefan to slowly emerge from the rut he has been in; he was a deserved player of the year last year. His game is based on effort and stamina and he needs to be fit, to be fully effective. He may need a rest but we may not be able to give him one. The team needs a balance between the flair players (Rogic, Forrest, Bitton and Commons) and the grafters (Brown, Johansen and Armstrong). We would be a poorer team with a team of grafters only and we’d be lightweight if we only played the flair guys.

MON did not always play Lubo, to our regret. Jock Stein said you cannot play a team full of Charlie Gallaghers (or Harry Hoods). We need guile and graft and mix the players in form.

Lots of selection Deilaemmas for the sheepie game- that’s a better headache than searching around to find 11 players who are not all in abject form.

Good to see you back on the blog, wish more would come back, the blog needs good Tims.

    …………………………………………………

Tom Rogic was magic tonight, inspired sub by the coach, in saying that, he should have been on from the start, but wee james on occasion can do the biz, so forgivable,

RD and the others must have had a few words to say at half time, cos it was a totally different team that came out in the 2 nd half.

It’s really not easy playing against a team that does everything to stop you playing football.

You are incorrect with the every player is “booked for this” you will find the facts and figures quite outweigh your opinion, although some might say we score kore goals so probably happens to us more
