  1. I wish posters would lay off Craig Gordon, he he makes mistakes as all the players do.

Brendan has asked him to play a different role which he has been taking time to adapt too.

Other teams he played for had usually a brick wall defensively in front of him, he doesn’t have that luxury playing for us with 2 attacking wingbacks.

He in my eyes is up with the best we’ve had in my time following Celtic.

    It’s a team game afterall.

GFTB… good to see you back on mate

You just beat me to it. Agree 100%

Have to add David Marshall gave the finest Celtic goalkeeping performance I have ever seen. It’s a pity we weren’t more understanding of his youth in a way we are with outfield players.

    Today’s game…..

    1) Funnily enough i was praising CG today for his handling and taking of cross balls ( not his strongest point) and then of course came his clanger lol

    2) I didn’t see much in the Hibs team today. I thought they were quite defensive and more passive than at CP. Until they got their first goal, not impressed. Their overall play did not deserve a point share. Not the second best team in Scotland I’d say.

    3) Amazed at the criticism of CalMac. I thought him head and shoulders our best player first half and the first 20 mins of the second.

Young David Marshall had a great game in Barcelona he wasn’t a good goalie for Celtic…. he went down south and became a very good keeper but never showed it with us

    Probably a Bailleston thing :-)

For any Bailleston punters that is a wee joke for Weet Weet Weet :-)

  6. Hello again all you young rebels.

Just wakened, head thumping, and wondering what pash i posted

last night, watching Celtic at two in the morn. does that to you.

Dread reading back but i will anyway.

I did, mate. Grateful thanks, indeed. I’ll reply in the morning, just heading off to work.

Not looking forward to driving in this. Deep snow outside, and it’s freezing up.

  8. I’m not criticising CG for his late fumble- all players make mistakes….and I don’t think he should be criticised for his passing either but I want a Celtic keeper that if he gets ten shots rattled at him in a game he saves most of them.

His ‘ nothing to do with me ‘ pash after the PSG game – he actually said their goals went right in at the corner (???)- WTF does that mean? Are the goals too big?

Still, as long as big Craig is happy on and off the park then who cares about anyone else.

Anyway while I’m on this is my take on John McGinn–

When he was leaving St Mirren if he went to a Scottish club it would cost that club £200k.

I believe Celtic indirectly paid St Mirren so the bhoy wouldn’t go to England. So, if next month Watford ( just say ) offered Hibs £5m then PL would be the first phone call that Hibs would make and the player would, if BR gave the thumbs up, he would sign for Celtic for a bit less.

Take care on your shift, it’s baltic up here but must be bad down there as it’s made the news….

  11. My annus horribilis continues apace.

Prayers requested for the repose of the soul of my sister-in-law Alison who passed away in her sleep this morning.

At 50 years old Alison had fought bravely against a disease, which left her unable to breath without assistance, for a number of years.

Last year she was cruelly rejected for a transplant at the last minute and that hit us all hard.

We knew it was then a matter of time but she fought, by god she fought, but with humour and grace not anger at her lot.

I will miss her humour, her smile and her defiance not to submit to her condition.

God bless and keep you Alison. Xxx

  12. Melbourne Mick

I really dislike (I nearly posted hate :-) when Celtic don’t wear the hoops I totally understand the club need to make money st and MissGFTB loves the pink top….I remember when we played Hibs while wearing the hoops, lids & their parents will buy any Celtic strip (even the bumblebee) but the team should wear the Hoops ….

Apologies for the rant but it is one if the things that bugs me :-)

  13. Gerryfrae…..

    Disagree with you re DM.

I think the very next game was at Ibrox and I recall two quite stunning saves.

My point really was that you have to nurture such natural talent but so much more understanding needed in such an exposed position as goalkeeper. Maybe as supporters we wouldn’t have been prepared to cut him slack?

He proved he was a class act.

  14. Thx Mick/ Gerry, just numb at the moment. Wasn’t going to have a beer tonight but just opened a tinny. A few more might follow….

  15. Just popped in for a quick peep before bed, deeply saddened to read of another tragic death,

AOW, My sincere condolences, May Allison Rest in Peace.

  16. I agree, but everybody has their opinion, over here Skippy’s

dad always has his bumblebee top on which Scotty gave to

him and he’s as proud as punch wearing it, i suppose as

long as it’s got Celtic on it, it will sell.

I wasn’t slagging David Marshall a few of the Bhoys I played on a Saturday morning knew him very well, what I was saying he was capable of the Barcelona performance but not with us week in week our, I think David took a good few years before he became the great keeper he is now

In my opinion he didn’t have the belief to be our goalie even though a great game in the nou camp then the bigitdome…. usually I post a football opinion but in this case I know the background of the Bhoy… no belief

  18. We played some good footbal.

We played some not so good football.

Unfortunately we made mistakes and looked a bit drained at times. Consequently when the squeeze came on at the end the fear tool over

ON goes off — no shape in the MF.

They started to run through us with ease as they grew in confidence and passed it through the middle.

SB won his personal battle with JMcG with ease for 75 minutes then they came again and we had nothing.

    Consequently lots to work on.

MF is still very much a WIP.

    Need to plan ahead.

Proper CDM — VW and a bit more.

Box to box with a pass and a shot — the new SP where are you.

Creative with a not of energy and strength.

We have some of the raw materials at CP.but we need to work at it.

If RD had seen any of his sides perform like that today then he would have been slaughtered.

A MF of RC / JA / KC / GMS would have given us a game today.

    Work to do.

Easy for me to post, but you know I am correct :-)

  20. O.k ghuy’s , going to try and find the paracetamol, the

princess can be a real bitch at times by hiding them, just

to make me suffer a wee bit more :-))

  21. Judging by Brendan’s comments today after the match i don’t think he is considering signing McGinn. He basically said Brown bossed him and JM has a long way to go before he is anywhere close to being as good as SB. I agree.

  22. Mad Mitch 11.10pm

Where should our work be done ?

Personally top of the league get to winter break, let the players who have been kicking a ball in Europe since June’17 get a wee test then try and win the league and Lyon is a nice wee carrot …. as a fellow Celtic fan we can but dream

  23. This site has morphed into the go to place for ubertim cliques.

The constant attacks on Celtic supporters for any perceived criticism of team.coach or players is unnerving.

We now have posts were the self anointed ubertims are congratulating them selves and others like them.

Celtic fans are passionate about their team so conflicting and different views should be seen in the context they are made.

I am now seeing why some very good posters have left the blog.

  24. TURKEYBHOY

The Kouassi situation is a mystery to me.

I have no inside knowledge on why players are picked or not but when he has played he has looked very good.

Strong and composed under pressure which is something we lacked in the latter part of today’s game.

  25. Maybe it’s time Brendan, changed, the style of play,a lot of teams are catching on to it,as for Griffith’s,I don’t think he will leave us ,I hope not.

  26. Jimbob

    I hope you are correct

I have a wee gut feeling if Brendan was going to play Leigh he would have had game time in the last 180mins when we needed a goal

A commonsense post but I don’t think you’ll ever stop this kind of blustering nonsense.

  28. Cosy Corner Bhoy on

Condolences to AOW on yet another loss.KTF. I imagine that will be quite difficult at the moment.

Will be ‘lighting a candle’ tomorrow for personal reasons and will add one for your sister-in-law Alison RIP.

  29. Glendaly I thought fan a tic 11,26 was more prevalent than the 11.21 you praised …. but each to their own :-)
