“It happens too frequently over the last 12 months or more”

That isn’t factual it doesn’t happen frequently

“Still getting ma head round you giving Leipzig 9pts after two wins :-)”

I am always a pre-match pessimist and an optimist during a match and post-match, even when we have lost.

I was so sure that Rosenborg could not compete n Germany that I had awarded the points in advance. It is great to be proven wrong on this and a 10 to 1 shot result fell our way, for once.

  3. I’m no a hun, at the wind up or a Heid banger, I’m now in my 8th decade and have seen the good, the bad and the ugly.

I was majorly disappointed when Billy x 2 and Davie Hay were sugar lumped, not so Jock and MON as I felt their time was up.

As for mogga, wee skip tae ma Lou and Liam Brady, they should never have been near the place, in fact I feel that the latter was an attempt by a desperate board tae emulate deidco and the beast.

Also one of the greatest players ever tae wear the hoops should in hindsight and on the advice of the Bunnet not been allowed back either.

TB was about 10 years too early and only got the job as Fergus tried tae deflect an attempt tae bring KD back at the time. And the much maligned WGS overv stayed his welcome thanks tae TB Thursday.

According tae rumour BR wanted out in the summer, mibbees he still does, we will only know come the summer of 2019.

Incidentally after the cup final of ’73 when we had just completed 8 in a row as Alfie Conn gave big Billy 10 yards and then ran past him tae score the equalizer I said then our greatest ever captain’s time was up, in saying that I hope Broonie enjoys Oz.

  4. We were lucky to get nil today.

The financial gulf between us and hibs is as wide as the gulf between us and salzburg .

We have £30 million in the bank and 1 fit striker.

Don’t hold your breath for January signings.

  5. Today was a day that showed up the Lawwell summer window disgrace.

Selling Dembele without a replacement, no right back for a past it Lustig. no John MCginn type dig in midfield,

    Not replacing Armstrong or Paddy.

The CEO at Celtic is Sevcos main hope to stop us winning the league.

PS Just popping in to post as gave up on the site for awhile because of the pop ups.

    Its still terrible.

Paul 67 Get a grip and sort the site please…obviously you will be milking the revenue all the ads generate, but surely you have earned enough from them to then try to get the site running normally again?

We probably all thought the same, as a very bad gambler (you don’t get a good gambler) Celtic had the most options to get through on Thursday win/draw at Celtic Park or Leipzig draw/beat so the “odds” were in our favour

Hindsight is a quality that none of us have :-)

  7. Not a knee jerk reaction, S Sinclair is now a luxury we cannot afford on or off the park.

He should be moved on in January.

Salzburg spend around the same money as we do, they just spend it better. They aren’t some moneybags Man City PSG type club.

Not sure why but both Lou Macari & Liam Brady excited me as a youngish Celtic fan back then …

    Stuart Slater CSC

  10. Pity the faithful whom travelled far and wide to watch that garbage in Edinburgh today.

Appalling display from our highly paid footballers that.

    HH. ?

  11. GERRYFAETHEBRIG

A guy with the football brain of Brady was an exciting prospect.

He never seemed able to transfer his game intelligence to our team.

I thought Stuart Slater was good.

  12. 14 games without Boyata – conceded in everyone of them.

15 clean sheets – Boyata played in all of them

  13. This is not a time to empty the park, this Wednesday is a time to fill the park.

We were poor, admitted. But we have no right to win and BR deserves our support.

Fill the ground and support. Anyone advising otherwise has an ulterior motive.

HH to all, the journey continues.

  14. One thing that caught my eye today in the second.

We had on our left and Hayes hit a poor effort straight to first defender.

    Why?

When Lewis Morgan a guy with great ability to cross a ball with either foot was on the field.

  15. I spoke with an oulder Tim in his 9th decade last night, asked him if he was happy with Thursday night, he said aye, I responded with Salsburg being a very good side, he came back with, but we’re no, his reasoning was we played in a scheidty league and that bring us down tae their level. I agreed but it was a scheidty team that gubbed us the day, that’s right gubbed.

  16. ROBERTTRESSELL @ 3:24

Respectfully, Salzburg were so tired from Thursday that they demolished their opponents 5-1 today.

  17. £30 million in the bank ?

    Where is the…..

    Two 2 season’s of CL money, £60-70 million ?

The £20 million for Moussa ?

The £8 million for VVD ?

The £7 million for Stuart Armstrong ?

    Etc, and on, and on.

Makes you wonder were Rangers are “really” getting their money from ?

Maybe karma is about to inflict misery on the Celtic PLC board for their hunlike treatment of the, Resolution 12 Requisitioner Rebels, who were disgracefully flung under the AGM bus ?

    Or, to cut a long story short,….who are the”real” gullibilly’s ?

    Hmmmmm.

    Nurse! Nurse!

    Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  18. 50 shades of green on

So according to the timternet bhoys (?).we have to sell Broonie, Ollie Sinky Eddie Hayes and a few others to boot.

With fans ( ? ) like that eh..

Bad day at the office, Brendan got the formation wrong, so we go back to our tried and trusted for midweek.

Ask yourself this, if I gave you a tenner and told you that you had to pick someone to win our league, who would you pick?

    Roll on Wednesday night.

    Zombies GTF.

  19. Can never ever understand why some ” Celtic fans ” seem to take delight in our set backs.

We all have an opinion, but surely on a Celtic site it should be constructive criticism.

    HH.

  20. fan-a-tic @ 2:45 pm

“In response to people saying Salzburg were financially doped i published a site showing that they had a net spend which was not much different from ours.”

I think you linked to the Transfermarkt site which showed that, in their estimate, the Salzburg squad was worth £101.30m while Celtic were valuated as worth £66.83m (that’s a gap of £35m, a large difference, I would say.

In terms of transfer fees paid, that site gives no information at all (which clubs actually give anyone detailed info on fees paid) so we can only judge on Transfermarkt’s evaluation of player’s current market worth.

For Salzburg, they have 3 players valued at above £10m (Dabbur, Haidara and Sammessekou) with the last named valued at over £16m. In contrast, Celtic had only one player rated at over £10m (Tierney at £11m+). They rated Edouard as worth £2.25m and Benkovic at only £9.90m, so I am not sure they are that aware of what transfer fees have been paid for these players.

I apologise in advance if it was not Transfermarkt that you linked to but it does not seem a very reliable source of accurate information.

Are there any sites which can give a better picture on which to compare?

  21. Kev

You forgot about the circa £6m from the CL qualification attempt (if you can call it that) and the Europa League progress plus the gate and match day money.

  22. Today’s performance wa truly shocking.

    Insipid, lethargic and passive.

Our play lacked any urgency or directness.

Pass to the side pass to the back.

Lustig may be past it but at least you get a shift out of him.

Only pass marks were to Mikey Johnston.

    Truly sickening.

Yet again we encourage the Hun.

The real disgrace is how we allowed the squad to have no proper Right back coverage and no striker coverage.

Broonie looks is if he is already down under.

    Sort it out and quick

    BT

My condolences to you and your family on the irreplaceable loss u have suffered

  23. My point Danso is that you somehow miss all the joyous times here but whenever the shit hits the fan you are always here bringing comfort & cheer.

  24. Gerryfaethebrig on

    Fan a tic

Stuart Slater was a very good footballer who Celtic might have been too big for him…. I remember one game when Goram wore him down at Celtic Park, even a magical overhead kick Goram saved … we live in expectional Celtic times … reading posters like Tontine Tim or Oldtim we should really enjoy being Celtic fans in these wonderful times …
