Highland trips shadow final Champions League round

501

This time next week Celtic will have played two competitive games, both at home, and we will have a chance to properly assess preseason preparations.  Even if victories are achieved against HJK Helsinki and Aberdeen the challenges for the remainder of the month, with at least four and possibly five games away from Celtic Park, with the possibility of only one home game, in the final Champions League qualifying round, will ensure Celtic are tested to their limit.

Two trips to the Highlands ahead of the Champions League qualifiers would be an unwelcome distraction.  Maybe an occasion for the youth and fringe players.

Let me know if you want to advertise in the forthcoming issue of CQN Magazine, celticquicknews@gmail.com.

As for Tamas Kadar, his playing record is worse than Mensah’s and is probably another thing that will never happen.

To go in to a CL qualifier with the same squad as last season, shows a distinct lack of ambition IMO,Helsinki or otherwise.

If we want to be positive then we have a young team with one more year’s experience.I am also disappointed, that we have not strengthened. Good to see that we have secured a keeper though!

I do think we take too many risks, given the CL purse that awaits us (or not!)

We can’t sell them all mate.

Don’t get me wrong,it’s money in the bank if we do punt them…but we wouldn’t win anything.

It’s all about trying to balance the finances with the product on the pitch.

If we can keep the squad in tact this season, and qualify for the CL Group Stages, that would be ideal.

You are generating between £15-20million there, which will allow the club to re-invest in new talent for next season.

Should the said players perform in Europe, the serious bids will follow.

And if we qualify for this tournament, then we dominate Scottish football for years to come.

Success breeds success, the better we do in Europe, the more we boost the co-efficient,meaning that in future we only need to win the league,to ensure automatic qualification every season.

It will be boring though? Will it eff! Nobody said it was boring when the hun cheated to 9-in-a-row.Also all the other teams are now playing for second place, instead of third place – and that also brings with it the chance of CL football.

  12. Unfortunately due to the present structure of football we will be a selling club.

I think the club understand this and have planned well for the present circumstances with our scouting and youth development.

If we are going. to sell I hope its Ki and not Vic.

Will probably depend on whether we qualify for champions league or not.

Still think we need a central defender with experience and another attacker.

I think they’re waiting to see how many they can sell before deciding the layout of them. They have the club crest and you get 3 lines to write whatever you want on it.
