Celtic have completed the signing of 20-year-old Nigerian, Rabiu Ibrahim subject to a medical, after he was released by PSV Eindhoven earlier this month. Rabiu is known as a creative-central midfielder, a role that Celtic have played possibly as few as a dozen times in the last decade.
After leaving Nigeria full of promise as a 17-year-old the player failed to make the desired impact in Portugal and the Netherlands, but will still be regarded as a development project by the Celtic technical staff. His short history in Europe, with tales of agents and representation investors already has enough material for a short novel, which will not have aided development.
The job for Celtic is to get Rabiu plugged back into his potential. It remains to be seen what role he is deployed in when he gets the chance.

Or is it possible that Lennon is quoted as saying the board and him discussed what they needed to do and ‘get a team the fans could identify with’ then a realistic list of Irish and Scottish names was placed down in front of him?
If he really wanted Murphy – he seemed to find out very quickly he got it totally wrong based on the amount of game time he was given before the reverse decision was made and he became an expensive surplus to requirements.
I dont think Lennon is that bad a decision maker and I dont believe he is so impatient for a signing he really wanted

My confidence in the in the HMRC case only started to wane when Dawyll said he had seen the side letters. I just could not see why such a clear hun as he is would disclose such info unless…

Re. Rangers Tax Case:
the poster ‘Not The Huddle Malcontent’, iirc, posted on RTC today the dread notion that the RTC guy is really Jack Irvine, there are no side letters, the whole thing is a big GIRFUY Timmy, nothing to see here move along.
I don’t think he truly felt that, or believed it, but it illustrated starkly how much of this new media lark is taken on trust.
So I get where neveralone was coming from with that last post. Any ‘lay’ followers of the whole RTC shebang, on that blog or outside of it, are operating on a whole series of assumptions stacked upon one another, and at moments like this when months of tortuous communal detective work are approaching a big ‘Reveal!’ moment, you do find yourself checking the basic assumptions you made at the start of the process.
Have I really walked the ten miles home over the moors from the pub in a dreadful storm without checking my pockets properly for the keys, that sort of feeling.

EWO, well I remember him saying he wanted him (rather than claiming to have some kind of insight into Neil’s mind). He then played him when he could at the start of the season and he was pretty gash, so he stopped playing him. Have you never wanting something only to be disappointed when you get it? No need to worry. Much of the point of RTC is that the information is in the public domain. As the point is made on it today, arguably as bad as the Huns crime, the press have chosen to ignore what was in front of them or even worse actuall printed mis truths (case to be settled for £5m?).
As Davy says they are Donald D***** no matter. The biggest loser if they could win the tax case would be a certain MBB whose business plan requires them to go into liquidation.

Im not inciunating Lawwell is, in this instance.
I actually understand Celtic need to
a. try to expose the brand to new markets and
b. venture into as of yet untapped and undervalued markets.
I am fairly sure Parks brief is to go out and compile dossiers of the markets Celtics corporate execs have researched and decided is where we should be exploiting.
Lennon is then given a list containing the select bunch of those players and asked to pick which one or ones he wants to sign. Lawwell will then go and try to broker the deal.
My issue is when the lines get blurred and ends up getting overstepped.
My issue is when football comes second to business ventures.
Lennon has actually gone out a whim on several occasions publicly talking about wanting players, numerous of whom have been free agents and we havent signed them.
We all understand there are boundaries we can go to in terms of wages – however a football manager should have as much control over his budget he is free to wheel and deal, buy and sell in the full knowledge of what he does and doesnt have. It is then his decision on how far out of his own budget he thinks is necessary to go in order to capture the signings he really wants, the blue chip ones he spoke of getting 2 years ago that both we and he is still waiting on.
I think there appear to be a lot of folk on this blog who just refuse to believe that things could be anything but on the straight and narrow within the corridors of corporate Celtic.
One thing we all know is that within business – there are always agendas, hiding truths, being selective with information etc etc
Happens in every business in the capitalist world yet so many believe anything but that can relate to Celtic.
Its not.
