Celtic will play KR Reykjavik in the Champions League second qualifying round with the first leg taking place on either 15or 16 July. Celtic are provisionally at home for the first let – but don’t book your flights until arrangements have been confirmed.
KR beat Glentoran 3-0 on aggregate in last season’s Europa League qualifying campaign before losing 1-3 home and away to Standard Liege. The Icelandic season continues throughout the summer, KR played a league game yesterday and have another three competitive games before meeting Celtic. Nine games into the league campaign they are three points off the pace.
From what I can tell, it looks like they have a grass pitch at their 3300 capacity stadium, which removes the big complaint from last season’s qualifiers.
This is a good tie for Celtic, who will be physically stretched by a mid-season team, but we’ll be strong favourites.
We were last in competitive action in Iceland against Valur in 1975, when a 0-2 win out there preceded a 7-0 victory at Celtic Park.

Aye Boomer McLaughlin is a year older than Josh, but played against him and rates him highly. Paul McMullan and Calvin Miller ard the two best players Chris has played against, he tells me. :)

Looks like Jose will be next on the cyber nats hate list. Watched the Andy Murray documentary on BBC earlier and at one point the Chelsea manager was interviewed. He Said ” at this moment Andy stopped being Scottish and became British” or something close to that. Jose is about to receive lots of hate mail.

Cracker!
Listening to BBC radio 5 on Saturday and they were complaining about how little competition Harte had – guy said they should start looking at championship keepers !!!!!!!!
The only other keeper with champions league experience is big Lurkio and still they overlook him FFS
Hell slap it up them and their greatest league in the world they get what they deserve
skyisalandfill- enjoyed the programme, the type the BBC does well.

The fact that FF hasn’t been picked means we can all cheer on Costa Rica with a clear conscience. Go on, we’re all thinking it…

For me I hope Costa Rica win, they have had a go and have played some good football.it’ll also make me smile as in 1990,when C.R beat Scotland, it was a tricky day/week/month at the office in London :-)

Busy workin`. and quietly celebrating the Mexico result.
The esposa and hija busily texting Long Beach to commune with the family and companeros.
Good start to the day in chilly(hillbilly) Sydney.
delaneys dunky,
Best wishes for a swift recovery for your Mammy, hope she is back home very soon.
Just stirring after a late night watching the Aussies getting a bit of a lesson off of Spain, still too many good players in that Spain side for them to be written off as a force all together.
When do you get back from your holiday in Spain?

Best wishes and speedy recovery to Mammy Molly Delaney Dunkey……would like to have heard the priest say that moniker at baptism.hh
Would rather have Frank Haffey back as keeper than Craig Gordon………can never forgive the game against Hearts…..which meant nothing to them….when he came upfield as an extra forward at the end. He was trying to get the League title to Rangers. No way…..I don’t trust that guy.
P.S. Big Frank was lotsa fun as our keeper in the sixties

Is paul mcmullan the right winger who tore huns apart last season ? Remember seeing video. Wee guy looked great.
Hope your mammy makes speedy recovering, mothers are the finest people in the world.
The good thing about Icelandic teams is that they’re pish
The good thing about Italy v Uruguay tomorrow is that one of the naw bags are out!
Naw=baw
I’ve come to the conclusion that Phil Macgiollabhain’s superlatives have all run their course and that the Hun vanguard will breathe it’s filth another day. We can thank the SFA and current Celtic custodian pish (CCCP) for facilitating their lack of demise

I wonder if you were at the game where big Frank took a bye kick and hit the ball into his own net.
No goal,of course, but lots of fun is right.
