At some point today those who believed Rangers have, or should have, impunity from the law of the land, as well as the rules and regulations of Scottish football, will awaken to the realisation that this is not the case.
Soon thereafter another thought will arrive: what about the impending Improper Registration of Players charge?
Over a decade of subverting every competition they have played in. Denying clubs who register players correctly the right to compete on a level playing field. Grabbing prize money and the abundant financial rewards of Champions League football rightly due to others – more on this later in the week.
This charge brings every domestic and European competition they played in into disrepute and is several times the magnitude than that which Rangers were punished for yesterday. Then consider bringing the game into disrepute by chasing football bling instead of paying taxes, a separate issue from player registration.
The toxicity of these charges is enormous and if upheld will bring punishments appropriate for corrupting over 700 football games. A whole raft of disciplinary procedures has still to take place. If the misdemeanours of the Craig Whyte era have caused distress, those of the old board, including Ogilvie, Johnston and the Murray twins, will soon establish Rangers current owner as a mere footnote in the club’s demise.
Show of hands, who sat on the board that spent £4m on Jelavic two years after the HMRC investigation into EBTs started?

A player cannot be offside in his own half.
Torres’s first touch was excellent and he took the goal well.
Do you think they’re calling for Guardiola’s head on Barca Quick News?
One thing he does need to learn from this season is that you won’t be successful without defenders no matter how good your midfielders/forwards are.

I got one look at it and wasn’t looking too clearly.
I bow to your view.
Sky interviewer got off lightly from Ivanovic after telling him he was out of the final.

”On tonights showing he represents why some folk do want Rangers to die.”
That call, and the McMillan call on John Beattie’s programme, shows just exactly what they are all about.
If, after all this, they stay in the SPL, in whatever form, their arrogance and triumphalism will be unbearable.

Remarkable.
Just a question; if that was us who’d just knocked out Barca with 10 men for most of the game to get into the Champions League Final, would we be moaning about us playing “too defensive”.
Defence is just as important as attack!

i wa s told that theres not a lot of chelsea fans who support rangers ,200 if there lucky
Motherwell or Dundee Utd will fancy themselves against Barca
And although i dont like Chelsea they played and fought as a team

Yup I noticed that there was not the same movement off the ball giving the guy on the ball more than one option.
It is a bit like a great party coming to an end…
Get yer dinero on Pep at Man City next season before the odds aint worth it.
Regarding the stories about John Terry and Mourinho asking after Celtic scores, if true I would probably credit Steve Clarke for spreading the good word. Have heard several times he’s a good Celtic man, though can;’t find a direct quote for this.

Don’t know the answer to that mate I just know that season ticket holders were notified earlier today.
Hope your day went as well as could be expected.

No, when we drew at the Nou Camp when we knocked them out of the UEFA Cup we had a similar backs to the wall performance to Chelski.

No Terry Tibbs ?.
Sorry, JT ?. :)
He wont be missed
Bayern will win the CL
Looked like the Barca fans and management were taking in well. Barca, like us, in a position to start planning for next season now.
Hope our management are on the ball and not sitting back waiting until the closed season.
Come on you Celts!!!! :))))

Absolutely gutted for Barca tonight.
As many have already said, I fear that the crown is slipping.
After watching (and disappearing quickly when Torres broke) with a load of Dundee/Dundee Utd fans, I can see quite easily why they have their ‘newco’ to support. They can’t hide it, their allegiance to The Hun.
Chelsea ~ Huns.
It’s really all the same.
I hope Bayern Munich now go on and lift the trophy.

Barca in danger of becoming the new Arsenal. Beautiful to watch on most occasions but liable to overplay.
For all his faults Drogba showed in the last game and tonight what damage a talented BIG player can do , even on his own.
IMHO the greatest all round team I’ve regularly watched were AC Milan with the three Dutch maestros and , most importantly, Baresi.
Flair and talent but with real steel throughout.
I think some comments tonight re Chelsea are really unfair.
They may or may not have ‘nice’ fans but if we had drawn Barca and beat them at CP, drew at the Nou Camp IN THE SAME STYLE we would have been thrilled & overjoyed.
I have no problem with team likes & dislikes but I’m surprised some people won’t appreciate the bravery and organisation of the Chelsea players tonight.
Question?
Would you want Celtic to win Champions League playing like THAT.
So there are I’m sitting in the 92 min thinking
” oh well, if Barca don’t make the final at least I’ve got my 2-1 bet up ”
:-(

I can understand the confusion on your first viewing, because Torres was in the Barca half when he made his first touch, but was well inside his own half when the pass was made and he started his run.

Maybe its just a bit of refreshing things from the management – refreshing tactics, training, team talks, perspectives etc
They arent an ‘old’ team.
Maybe while they became so, so good they became complacent – but because they were so good it took a while, too long and too late before anyone actually realised.
Got to hand it to Chelski…Down to 10 men..Torres equalises….a final awaits against Jose?
Change of manager, change of attitude, change of luck.
I wonder if they use EBTs?

Don’t think Barca are on their way down. Messi is only 25. He ain’t going anywhere. All great teams struggle at times. The Lisbon Lions. Cruyff’s Ajax side. Eusebio’s Benfica. The great Beckenbauer Bayern side. Van Basten’s Milan…all sides have dips in fortune.
Barca will be back.

I feel that if rangers hadn’t been hit with a 10 point deduction and had that joke whyte near the club, rangers would of strolled the league

Got to be a wind up???
Starry – Do you think it is a wind up?
For a numpty journalist “would of” instead of “would have” smacks of authenticity !
Hail Hail
Pep will be moving on and Barca will not dominate next year
Swings and roundabouts !
Cannot believe Chelsea won tonight.
Never win the final..

The account is a wind up on Twitter, almost fell it for then realised even Dawell isn’t that stupid.
Aye I heard him on Clyde he is still in denial no matter how much he tries to hide it.
Having lived away from Scotland for over 20 years I see that listening to Clyde is seriously affecting my serenity!!
Mr King can’t wrap his head round the facts of people wanting his club gone, the longer this goes on the more I want them gone and gone for good, so I can get back to my tranquility in the valley..

Change on the way at Barca, their system is simply tired, and they have an Achilles Heel.
…….where’s wee davie?
Hey Chelsea play in the best league in the world so we are told my arse
Yes. I thought we were watching cattenaccio tonight, Chelsea did it well.
People talking of Messi and his class. The best players I have seen are Pele, di Stefano, Puskas and Cruijff. Messi may well join that elite (I don’t include Maradona, by the way) but he isn’t there yet. He
does have time on his hands, unlike the bankrupt soo side mob.
Maybe Barcelona should try shooting from 25 yards out sometimes.
It’ll bring thr defender out 5 yards and give then a bit of space.
