Improper Registration charge for corrupting 700 games still to hit

1256

At some point today those who believed Rangers have, or should have, impunity from the law of the land, as well as the rules and regulations of Scottish football, will awaken to the realisation that this is not the case.

Soon thereafter another thought will arrive: what about the impending Improper Registration of Players charge?

Over a decade of subverting every competition they have played in.  Denying clubs who register players correctly the right to compete on a level playing field.  Grabbing prize money and the abundant financial rewards of Champions League football rightly due to others – more on this later in the week.

This charge brings every domestic and European competition they played in into disrepute and is several times the magnitude than that which Rangers were punished for yesterday.  Then consider bringing the game into disrepute by chasing football bling instead of paying taxes, a separate issue from player registration.

The toxicity of these charges is enormous and if upheld will bring punishments appropriate for corrupting over 700 football games.  A whole raft of disciplinary procedures has still to take place.  If the misdemeanours of the Craig Whyte era have caused distress, those of the old board, including Ogilvie, Johnston and the Murray twins, will soon establish Rangers current owner as a mere footnote in the club’s demise.

Show of hands, who sat on the board that spent £4m on Jelavic two years after the HMRC investigation into EBTs started?

Absolutely sick to see Chelsea get through. Memories of huns 2008. Dani Alves is the most overrated player I know. Couldn’t cross to save his life.

  2. thehuddlehound on

As far as I know, John Terry’s interest in the Celtic score comes from Jim Duffy who was a youth team coach at Chelsea when Terry was a lad.

NO!!! But that’s exactly how the current Celtic team would have to play almost every game to win the CL. Few people want to see anti-football win over pro-football, but I’d be delighted if it was us.

Back in the early nineties, in the heyday of fanzines the guys who put together one of the best selling Chelsea fanzines were most unhappy about being teamed with Rangers and Follow, Follow.

    Spot on.

Too many people worry about which players in the Chelsea side support Rangers and how many of their fans have an affiliation with the Ibrox club.

Thay cannot even watch and enjoy a CL semi-final, with no Scottish teams involved, without bringing Rangers into it and thereby hating one of the two teams.

Chelsea deserve their place in the final. Barca were average to poor.

I enjoyed the game, but then again, I am not obsessed with Rangers in every waking moment. How sad must that be?

  7. Barca’s squad is too small in numbers for the amount of games they play. They look dead on their feet, not just tonight and against Real but in general for a couple of months. They’ve been scraping past teams in the league they would normally hammer. Xavi is injured and will probably now go for an operation and miss the Euros and he is as important as Xavi to how they play. He was invisible tonight.

  8. 67Heaven ... I am Neil Lennon..!!..Truth and Justice will always prevail on

Just seen Terry’s knee incident …..DIRTY BARSTEWARD

  9. TLWIO,

To your list of great teams, I would add Ajax of the mid 90s who I think reached two Euro final, winning one.

They were a very young team comprising 5 or 6 teenagers / guys in the early 20s . Sadly the team was broken up long before it matured, otherwise preventing them becoming one of the true greats.

  10. huns fc- love the queen but wont pay her on

After the ways the huns have been going on, i would be quite happy for the authorities to hammer Neil Lennon so they haven’t got the conspiracy theory excuse anymore, as laughable as It Is, wait till the more serious charges start coming In, they’ll be rioting and looting Aldis. What would they do If he got a six or so game ban.

Also Barca looked knackered tonight and recently, the pace just wasn’t there and when your putting high balls in from around the box they were playing Into Chelseas hands, bread and butter to them.

McLeish looks likelly to be sacked soon enough, would like to see him relegate Villa.

  11. tlwio

Agree, over the years, quality teams have always had steel in their teams.

When we done Barca, we done what Chelsea done tonight, and I was over the moon.

There is lots of talk on the blog about getting a CD sorted, maybes Barca need to get that sorted as well.

You can score goals for fun, but unless you stop conceding them……….

  12. I lived in the South East of England for many years. I knew loads of Chelsea fans. One of them preferred Rangers to Celtic. Three of the others preferred Celtic (because of Davie Hay) and all the others had no interest in Scottish football whatsoever. Too many on here detest Chelsea for the wrong (therefore unfair ) reasons. I was at Stamford Bridge a few times. Mainly, particularly pre-Abramovich,they are good, fair fans with, as with most English Clubs, a sprinkling of thugs. Rangers are a horrible Club; Chelsea FC are not.

  13. Souness expressing sympathy for Terry, suggesting it is out of character.

Tells you all you need to know about his moral compass.

Was Souness not the false prophet , with the false nose who introduced Minty to Rankers ?

  14. Baku/Black Isle Celt on

Posted the following on the Huns new “stop the SFA” blog,

Pay your debts, follow (follow) the rules. Simple…

The SFA did not put RFC (IA) in this mess.

Neil Lennon did not put RFC (IA) in this mess.

    Understand? No, thought not…

Didn’t get past moderation, it’s obviously not going to be open for debate.

I have to admit to having to fight my natural instinct of supporting the team opposing the ‘English’ team.

Its in the genes for good or ill, its not clever and I’m not proud of it. It is there nevertheless!!!

  16. Messi is only 24 actually so he could still do a job for us if the crown really has slipped

Souness seems pretty keen to know what provoked John Terry, isn’t it obvious?

    It was Neil Lennon’s fault!

  17. I lived in the SE of England and knew loads of Chelsea fans. One preferred Rangers to us; three preferred Celtic and the others didn`t care about Scottish football. Rangers FC are a horrible Club; Chelsea FC are not. Like all big Clubs, they have some thugs in their support but, in the main, their fans are pretty good. Too much of the criticism on here is because a lot of Huns like Chelsea; the feeling is NOT reciprocated.

IMHO the greatest all round team I’ve regularly watched were AC Milan with the three Dutch maestros and , most importantly, Baresi.

TTT and me discussing what type of experienced player would bolster our young squad (last night when SFA announcement was made) – got lost in the euphoria!

    Messi or Franco Baresi

I understand where you are coming from, but as one who was fortunate to be in Lisbon 1967 & Milan 1970,I accepted both results because we played the Celtic way.Why play the game not to entertain, winning is important, but sometimes it’s more important how others view your actions.I think that is one of the reasons wherever you travel,if you say you are a Celtic supporter you are welcome with open arms.Celtic is the name,Celtic is the way.Slan

Wo – Cosgrove nearly knocked me off my seat with his summary towards the end.

    He actually got ‘it’

I didnt think any non Celtic supporter in Scotland had the ability to do that – including from the government to seemingly every other walk of life until he summed ‘it’ up!!

  22. I’m an old fogey, but I have to agree with an earlier poster – Pele is the best player the world has ever seen. Best European player has to be Cruyff. Maradona would be my third choice.

Messi has a long way to go to reach those heights, but he is young enough.

I think Chelsea fans, especially in the 70’s/80’s,had a reputation of being supporters of the NF.This pleased many of the huns,NF leaflets were regularly handed out outside Greyskull back then.Times have now changed and although Chelsea still have their idiots I don’t believe they genuinely see themselves linked to Rangers. One main difference is the paying of bills for a start.
