Improper Registration charge for corrupting 700 games still to hit

1256

At some point today those who believed Rangers have, or should have, impunity from the law of the land, as well as the rules and regulations of Scottish football, will awaken to the realisation that this is not the case.

Soon thereafter another thought will arrive: what about the impending Improper Registration of Players charge?

Over a decade of subverting every competition they have played in.  Denying clubs who register players correctly the right to compete on a level playing field.  Grabbing prize money and the abundant financial rewards of Champions League football rightly due to others – more on this later in the week.

This charge brings every domestic and European competition they played in into disrepute and is several times the magnitude than that which Rangers were punished for yesterday.  Then consider bringing the game into disrepute by chasing football bling instead of paying taxes, a separate issue from player registration.

The toxicity of these charges is enormous and if upheld will bring punishments appropriate for corrupting over 700 football games.  A whole raft of disciplinary procedures has still to take place.  If the misdemeanours of the Craig Whyte era have caused distress, those of the old board, including Ogilvie, Johnston and the Murray twins, will soon establish Rangers current owner as a mere footnote in the club’s demise.

Show of hands, who sat on the board that spent £4m on Jelavic two years after the HMRC investigation into EBTs started?

  1. Simple fact is, Barca bottled it. 2-0 up to ten men at home FFS. Result never should have been in doubt.

I don’t like you Chelsea but I will always doff my cap to a result like that, remarkable.

I was at the ‘friendly’ match against Chelsea a few seasons ago.

I’ve never seen security like it at any match in the UK.

There’s an element of their support that hate us. Whether that’s anything to do with the huns or not I don’t know.

@STVGrant if Real Madrid win La Liga and the Champions League it would mean Celtic only have 1 qualifying round instead of 2

If it’s the clip on You Tube that I’m thinking about it’s the Celtic casuals making the journey from the station to Stamford Bridge.

Yes there was some animosity and some trouble but I don’t think it was any worse than has been experienced at several other trips to England.

If we ever got to a CL final, I really couldn’t care how we got there, as long as we didn’t cheat :)

I am not trying to rationalise here but the obvious dislike many Celtic fans have for Chelsea (because of their perceived affiliation with Rangers ) was bound to be reciprocated.

  14. Just watched the Cosgrove interview on CH4 News…he gave it to the Orcs with both barrels…he better watch his back walking down the street. Did anyone see Kevin Gallagher in the Alex Thomson piece? What exactly is the point of asking football people questions? You would get as much information if you interviewed a prawn baguette or a neon dildo…

Wasn’t at that game, but brother and nephew said it was the most scary experience they have ever been subjected too.The pub they were in was attacked, after the game they were corralled in a car park for an hour.

Not judging all Chelsea supporters,my son- in- law is one.

  17. Evening all! Lot of Chelsea love on here tonight. Can’t say I care either way.

    Celtic is my team.

I drank in a Chelsea pub for about a year. Some good guys, some tossers.

However, the pint was good and the atmosphere was welcoming.

Pretty much the same as any football pub I have been in.

To sum up, who cares who used to or has an affiliation with another club. Get over it!

Back in the day Chelsea attracted football hooligans from all over the home counties. They weren’t football fans or from families where the dad/grandfather supported Chelsea. Then the NF stuff took root. Celtic playing there was always going to attract a throwback to the old days element.

  25. I’ve spent a lot of time down south and worked in London for a few years. The vast majority of football fans there couldn’t give a damn about Scottish football.

Chelse have always had a right wing element. That’s why some huns follow them. I saw the National Front recruiting on the terraces at Stamford Bridge in the 80s.

You would be really surprised at how many really get ‘it’ in Scotland- I know quite a few Dons fans and they REALLY get it. Dundee United fans are tuned in…but then many many fans from ALL the clubs know the SCORE…no question…people are wakening up all over Scotland…this is the great social boon of the internet!

I was coming back in the plane today, and there was a woman reading the Daily recordI think she was in the middle of the Paper and there was two pages about the Rangers,I asked if I could have a look at the record after she was through with it,She turned and said “You must be a Celtic man, wanting to read all that guff”I said I was… but hadn’t seen much written about Rangers and their woes,She said there was plenty to read about in todays paper,At least 5 pages.

They’re really in a sorry state,Everyone’s fault but their own.

I’m glad to see the Whyte Knight is going quietly,2 seats in the directors box,2 seats on the board?I think 30% stake in the club was mentioned, that sounds reasonable,It’s just a pity they will fold in a couple of weeks?.
