Referee bought and paid for, as is always the case when you venture to Italy.
They spend millions upon millions of pounds on players and wages but still can’t trust themselves to beat us so the referee and those eejits that stand behind the goals are bought and paid for as well.
They’ve been at it for years, fixing matches and perverting the sport, the Italians.
Dishonest refereeing and dishonest Inter players.
No surprise.
No penalty for Celtic in Italy again.
Going through was a huge ask.
It’s a virtual impossibility.
0-0 Is more than respectable given the circumstances but this is the classic case of helping a team from a so called big league but a league with clout nonetheless.
Up to the red I thought Celtic were getting better. Possession was improving and they were creating a bit of space.. Gutted now
11 v 11 we were conformable and putting pressure on. The extra man has made a massive difference. Unless the ref decides to even things up we will be in for a long second half – unlikely as he has given us nothing so far.
The second yellow came from a goal kick when we should have had another corner …

I’ve checked the replays and the rules, and as far as I can make out only one of those “offences” was even an offence, never mind a yellow card offence.
Incompetent (or crooked) ref once again costing us in Europe.
Our fault.
GMS one on one. Should have dunked it over keeper.
VVD when you are on a yellow, don’t commit a yellow card offence.

Two penalties.
Yellow for VVD – not even a foul.
Goal kick given instead of corner that preceded the second yellow.
Ref… Shocking.

We’ve had the best chances and easily matched Inter first half.
Some very inconsistent decisions by the ref who has made this an uphill struggle now.
Set up perfectly for glorious failure, and on the replay very disappointed in Van Dijk managing to somehow pick up two yellows.
Not only have we lost him, we’ve lost the best goal threat in GMS, so it’s a double sending off, in real terms.
Very unlikely we’ll prevent Inter from scoring on the break against ten men pushing for a goal, there’s nothing RD can do tactically with a man short.
All in all a fairly encouraging first half. Mountain to climb being a man down and can’t see this whistler giving us much but we are not out of this yet. Mon the Hoops!!

Not had any luck in this tie so far, either with breaks of the ball, or refereeing decisions.
We get only bad luck in the San Siro over the years and it continues big VVD was rash this is Italy you touch a player they go down and he walked right in to it.Im not keen on how the full backs tuck in it leaves a lot of space for the Inter players to get in to but overall its a big improvement from early season European games.It will be a long second half and you can bet the Inter players will be falling like skittles. Definite penalty denied and a very soft sending off , as usual the big decisions go the way of the so called big side.
Not going to fall out with fellow Celts but some of the anti Italian comments are an embarrassment .
VVDs second yellow involved just as much interference as the Italian did against Armstrong in our pen claim
Difference was Stuart did not jump up and wave an imaginary card
Tremendous performance by the Bhoys, bursting with pride. GMS had best chance, penalty claim ignored and a scandalous sending off and we are still standing.
Even with eleven I thought it highly unlikely we would win, with ten it seems impossible. All we can ask is for our bhoys to keep playing football with courage and pride and what happens will happen.
GMS was more likely to score than JG who seems to have a bag of coal on his back. Johansen and Bitton trying to get into the game. If we keep our discipline we are in with a chance tho our full back defending is heart in mouth stuff.

I was going to post after 10 minutes that I thought this ref would cost us the game, I’m still of that opinion.
Didn’t think either pen was a pen, the Guidetti one was eerily like the Amoruso one in Turin from many moons ago.
I’ll wait and see the analysis at half time, but didn’t think either VVD challenge was a booking either. Shocking decision.
With 11 men we were looking the more likely to score. Inter couldn’t handle the high pressure. Who’d have thunk that not sitting back and inviting pressure would avoid the customary early goal?
Proud of RD and his game plan, played well but lacked composure in the final 3rd. Would have dropped Bitton back until half time, suspect Efe will make way if we need a goal with 20 mins to go.
We have NEVER had any sort of break in Italy and were massively disadvantaged tonight.
A bit niaive from big Virgil. He knew he was on a yellow yet committed himself in that way. We need to be a bit smarter. Ronnie’s fitness regime will now be tested to the fullest. The only way I can see us get a result now is to defend stoutly and hope to nick a set piece.

Cheats! Every recent game against Italians has been the same! Serie A can rot in hell…which it is doing actually! Still have memories of Stan cheated at Juve when MON was raging…nothing changes!
Wrong sub should have hooked Guidetti who is posing no threat as opposed to GMS.
Game spoiled by a homer referee. Shouldn’t be surprised, I’ve seen it all too often in Europe against these teams. As soon as our first stonewall penalty was denied, i could see it coming.
For all we go on about Scottish refs, this one’s shameful.

Celtic playing some great football then Armstrong is barged in the box and no foul and VVD gets book for what isn’t even a foul!
That told me that the fix was in.
