Is it any wonder Celtic fans worry about contagion?

639

Not only are Newco left without an auditor, a Nomad and therefore a market listing, outgoing auditors Deloitte, wrote to the club last month to explain they were resigning due to threatening and intimidating messages received by their staff from anonymous persons during 2013 and 2014 in relation to their work with the club.

The toxicity of that football club is difficult to overstate.  Is it any wonder Celtic fans are clear: the ‘Old Firm’ died in 2012?  Any attempts to rekindle it will result in contagion for our own club, who maybe smaller going forward without the ‘Old Firm’ dividend, but it will be healthier nonetheless.

I’ll take 40,000 crowds and winning the next 30 titles in a canter, bring it on.

You would have loved Paisley yesterday in the company of my Polish and Slovakian workmates at their first Celtic game. Poor Celtic show. Every round in the pub was a double vodka and bottle of Tyskie each. Made up for the result. Hic :)

  2. 29 years ago I graduated in England.

This week another of my children will graduate from a university in the north of Ireland.

My da went to the Derry tech at 15,my ma went into a shirt factory.

My da has always said that the Civil Right brought us council houses and the vote but the biggest mistake they made was to give us free education.

The problem we have is that no-one does history anymore.

WW2 and the years of hard work that came after it are now completely forgotten.

You can see that in the UK in the way that the poor and the unemployed are now demonised in a manner that would have been unthinkable in the 70’s when the common effort of 39-45 was still an active memory in the general population.

Germany has done very well out of the EU / Euro.

Unfortunately AM is an over promoted technocrat who still has East Germany on her mind.

Add that to the general German psychosis of inflation and their DM’s and you have got trouble at the heart of Europe. Bad case of selective amnesia — know nothing of 33 / 45 but remember everything about the hyperinflation of the Twenties.

Strange isn’t the half of it.

And then you have ShamCam standing on the sidelines.

Offering nothing — totally out of his depth in all things EU — and spouting austerity tripe that will never work. The UK is now totally marginalised in a manner that would shame the nation if the establishment ever got round to allowing the media to discuss the issue.

Compare and contrast GB in 2008/09 when he could tell AM to shut her geggy and start signing some cheques.

Common sense suggests the IMF numbers should be the start of a deal.

Five years too late on the basis that you can never thrift your way to economic salvation in an economically stagnant continent.

5 yrs of cuts and a 25% drop in GDP — austerity in its true sense laid bare for the right wing mentalist / neon con political construct that it is and always will be.

How else do you get the plebs to pay for the sins of bankers?

Hopefully some statesmanlike efforts will win the day.

If Greece gets chucked out then it will be open season on the EU and the Euro.

Hopefully AM does not try to cut of her nose to spite her face.

However I think sense is currently in very short supply.

On a related note have you ever heard the Tartan Tories so quiet?

    What would “Nicola” do?

Support Greece and burnish her — non existent — anti austerity credentials?

Or keep schtum and cosy up to the EU establishment as she hopes she might be needing a currency soon?

    The long wait is over,

    Would you rather watch,

    1) The affects of the Industrial Revolution and Agriculture in the South East of England?

    2) Whether Heathrow should have another Terminal?

Both videos ready to go…sorry couldn’t resist a laugh. I know I am probably the worst offender for deviating into politics.

You know sometimes this blog really makes you think about things you had never considered.

Some people hate the politics but for me, someome who never buys a daily newspaper anymore, these discussions are invaluable in forming my opinion.

TBH most of you post crap ;) but now and again a wee gem comes through.

  14. Delaneys Dunky,

Pope John XXIII instigated Vatican II.

He opened the door to Satanic influences in the Church like the liberals, modernists, freemasons etc

Pope Paul VI, who completed VII said so himself…

It is as if from some mysterious crack, no, it is not mysterious, from some crack the smoke of Satan has entered the temple of God. June 29, 1972 homily.

    Quite different.

Havnt caught any of the world cup at all.

However , flicked over now, and the commentators are talking how the england team could have won this.

    Who gives a flick.

  25. That USA Japan score,

That’s what we should have done to the monkey zombie huns in the league cup.
