Judge King plan by those who father it

950

I’ve no affection for Real Madrid but was delighted for them, and Carlo Ancelotti in particular, last night.  It’s getting to the stage that it’s impossible to figure out who the best team in Europe actually is.

Bayern Munich’s season has been historic.  They swept aside German competitors with record-breaking ease on their way to what looked like them becoming the first team to retain Europe’s top crown in its Champions League format.  Real were irresistible.  Let’s hope for a Madrid final before the Lions in Lisbon next month.

After yesterday’s blog I heard that more journalistic allies from Anderston Quay have flocked to Dave King’s camp, including that Leggat (sp?) guy, who used to entertain many.

I’ve heard more theories as to what the Sevco board and the group trying to run their club into the ground are planning that I care to remember, but when you look at the team King in particular has pulled together, you would be forgiven for concluding there is no masterplan worthy of the name.

We can’t always judge a man by the company he keeps but we can just a strategy by those who fathered it.

Prediction: King will kill Sevco then fall on his arse.  Bump.

Here we Go for 10 In a Row!

Applications for the 10th annual CQN charity golf day, which will take place in Aberdour Golf Club on Friday 4th July, will close this Friday, 2nd May.

As ever it will be oversubscribed so if you would like to attend, email BlantyreKev and Taggsy at cqnopen10IAR@gmx.co.uk before Friday.  Cost for the full day’s entertainment including golf is £80.  There are a very limited number of non-golfer evening places at £45.  Further detail will be released nearer the date and when places confirmed.

Over the course of the season I’ve read lots of comment about the values we should aspire to as a club, specifically when it comes to alleviating poverty, both in our own community, and abroad.  CQN’ers responded incredibly to our Malawi school kichen(s) appeal, which dwarfed our work at home.

The Charity Foundation are selling badges (£1 each) before the Dundee United game on 11 May to raise funds to feed the poor and hungry in and around Glasgow.  I have volunteered as a coordinator on the day and have offered to help recruit around 100 to sell badges before the game.

This will be trophy presentation day – but the trophy isn’t coming out until after the game, so you’ll not miss any of the flesh-on-silver action.

If you are able to get involved in this initiative, which strikes the core of what we think of ourselves as a Movement, email your details to cfcfvolunteer@celticfc.co.uk .

Thank you.

Now for me, as someone who has came across some rather unsavourly individuals in my life. I have always found those that would perpetuate the myth that those that do the right thing are “grasses” are usually those most capable of the most dispicable of things

They are usually shallow, self rightious and extremely untrustworthy. I have always tended to make sure they never have the opportunity to creep up behind me or find myself alone with them in darkend alleyways.

“:-A Celtic source stated”, etc., etc.

Then, at the end, ” Celtic declined to comment”.

    Which is it?

They are not even trying to box clever.

  7. Celtic need to release a statement condemning this latest example of anti-Celtic muck raking so called journalism. If we just roll over and take this, believe me it well get worse as the Sevco implosion gathers pace. Grow a pair Peter Lawell and nip this in the bud now !!!!

  8. Now we get to where he is going here.

In an odd way I wonder if those who brought forward Res12 to the AGM are seen as “grasses” as they are basically wanting to shop the office bearers at the SFA?

There is a public school system in England churning out politicians for Westminster, they don’t bother with masks. Their vision for Scotland is as a resource for London.

    Anyway, back to Stokes

That’s him been pictured with two different bands supporting two opposed political factions so he should be being hailed as a peacemaker

‘Stokes brings unity to the Republican Movement – Shebeen to contest A Song For Europe sources say’ would have been less ridiculous.

  10. Nailing his colours to the mast now.

Are the GB grasses for wanting to rid our support of some of the unsavoury add ons we had for certain songs?

Is JF a grass for exposing the hypocracy of our board who clamour to allign themselves with the ideals of Brother Walfrid and our founding fathers while denying the poorest staff members a living wage?

  11. I haven’t bought a paper since the “Thugs and thieves” headline. Never missed them and never log into online versions.

I get more and better world news and Celtic information from Celtic websites.

I would never tell anyone what they should read or listen to but I can’t believe Celtic fans still buy tabloids and listen to phone ins. We don’t need to play their games and hear their version of the truth.

It would hurt the DR more to boycott their advertisers and let the advertisers now why.

    Just an observation…

The yes voters on here all appear upbeat, optimistic and positive about the future

The No voters…..well….a bit more resigned and accepting of their fate

    ****************

Or perhaps to interpret it another way, the Yes campaigners on here are passionate, zealous but overly optimistic while those hoping for a No return remain calm.

Do you think Lennie would welcome a journo raising the Stokes article in a press conference?

He of all people would have the right to rip into the DR having sued them for the Newcastle Thugs & Thieves claptrap when he was a player!

  19. Steinreignedsupreme on

I started watching the game last night about 25 minutes in and I was struck by how poor Chelsea are. I am genuinely puzzled at how they managed to reach the semi-finals (kind draw?)

They are a very poor team with a couple of tidy players, but they are unlikely to have too much of an impact in such a negative system.

The world has turned on its axis when a Celtic fan is pleased for Atletico Madrid. I was delighted with the result.

  20. So, fans don’t buy the DR – check.

Fans don’t buy the Sun – check.

Fans then go into CP to see – the DR / the Sun

plastered all over the advertising hoardings ?

To what audience do the CP advertising hoardings

    reach out to ?

So on conclusion…..we should not buy the DR / the Sun

but, we should buy into the Celtic silence ?

    Naaaaaahhhh, don’t think so.

There are always eejits taking pictures and putting them on their social media sites. These people have no brains. Stokes just enjoying a few pints and on stage for any reason. Could have been for anything at all and the DR can make it sound as sinister as they like.

I am backing Griffith’s and I will back Stokes. Our players are being hounded.

I once went to Wishy for a fortnight and got stuck there. Be careful!

Good advice. Apparently, when The Moz played Motherwell Concert Hall, a good few years back, he reserved the Belhaven penthouse suite at the old Commercial hotel in downtown Wishy for him and his entourage.

He ordered 10 crates of buckie, and a wide range of vegetarian dishes for the post-gig party.

    He got the buckie.

I have said previously that this is old news. PL will be well aware of this incident. I think Stokes has had a few scrapes before anyway most notably when he got all shook up with an Elvis impersonator. I have said it many times in the past. It makes not a difference what PL thinks anyway. He acts on the instructions of the board. I do not see the board having a major issue with this.
