Judge King plan by those who father it

950

I’ve no affection for Real Madrid but was delighted for them, and Carlo Ancelotti in particular, last night.  It’s getting to the stage that it’s impossible to figure out who the best team in Europe actually is.

Bayern Munich’s season has been historic.  They swept aside German competitors with record-breaking ease on their way to what looked like them becoming the first team to retain Europe’s top crown in its Champions League format.  Real were irresistible.  Let’s hope for a Madrid final before the Lions in Lisbon next month.

After yesterday’s blog I heard that more journalistic allies from Anderston Quay have flocked to Dave King’s camp, including that Leggat (sp?) guy, who used to entertain many.

I’ve heard more theories as to what the Sevco board and the group trying to run their club into the ground are planning that I care to remember, but when you look at the team King in particular has pulled together, you would be forgiven for concluding there is no masterplan worthy of the name.

We can’t always judge a man by the company he keeps but we can just a strategy by those who fathered it.

Prediction: King will kill Sevco then fall on his arse.  Bump.

Here we Go for 10 In a Row!

Applications for the 10th annual CQN charity golf day, which will take place in Aberdour Golf Club on Friday 4th July, will close this Friday, 2nd May.

As ever it will be oversubscribed so if you would like to attend, email BlantyreKev and Taggsy at cqnopen10IAR@gmx.co.uk before Friday.  Cost for the full day’s entertainment including golf is £80.  There are a very limited number of non-golfer evening places at £45.  Further detail will be released nearer the date and when places confirmed.

Over the course of the season I’ve read lots of comment about the values we should aspire to as a club, specifically when it comes to alleviating poverty, both in our own community, and abroad.  CQN’ers responded incredibly to our Malawi school kichen(s) appeal, which dwarfed our work at home.

The Charity Foundation are selling badges (£1 each) before the Dundee United game on 11 May to raise funds to feed the poor and hungry in and around Glasgow.  I have volunteered as a coordinator on the day and have offered to help recruit around 100 to sell badges before the game.

This will be trophy presentation day – but the trophy isn’t coming out until after the game, so you’ll not miss any of the flesh-on-silver action.

If you are able to get involved in this initiative, which strikes the core of what we think of ourselves as a Movement, email your details to cfcfvolunteer@celticfc.co.uk .

Thank you.

Their price is huge as a result.

    Worth a look,IMO.

Correct.I think the other teams in the group will fear Chile.Especially in S.America.

Agree with you to an extent and I am of a similar age to you

However if I am working and paying tax and NI for another 15 years I sure as feck want a vote.

It is controversial but there is an argument that begs the question of why those – over 70 for example – can skew an referendum the outcome of which could be groundbreaking and binding over decades if not centuries.

The YES lobby would be drawn to this argument as the grey vote is predominantly NO given it’s closer ties with all things British and shared reminiscences of “the good old days” like the War. (Never got that one myself – all that ‘we were getting bombed and never saw a banana for 6 years but we were happy’ guff).

In order to qualify from their group, Chile have to eliminate one of the 2010 finalists.

If they come 2nd in their group they face Brazil in the last 16.

They are a huge price for a reason IMO.

    Be lucky.

Politicians and company directors take decisions all the time on the basis of the parliamentary calendar or next year’s bottom line. They don’t care about what’s best for the long term; only what will look good come the next election or company AGM.

  11. NOW I DID SAY I DONT INTEND TO VOTE, my main reason for me taking that stance, is to let my 4 see that in my abstaining, I am bowing to what they decide and that it is in their hands, it looks like they are all voting yes, if I decided it was important for me to vote I would do the same but the main issue here is that i’m getting them to vote’ so that’s 4 yes’s in the bag…..and if I think that my one vote might matter I will go with my kids lol

I remember Dixie’s moon launch all too painfully.

I think we all knew the outcome as soon as he missed.

There was a moon landing at the time and The DR carried a cartoon next day with a couple of astronauts telling Houston they had found the ball.

    It was not funny.

I’m a long time lurker on the blog but I registered simply to encourage charliebhoy to use his vote.

    Why?

While I appreciate you’ve encouraged your children to use their vote, you should lead by example and use yours.

If your children have a desire for yes or no, cast your vote accordingly. To do otherwise will give you no right whatsoever to complain about the eventual outcome of the referendum. Which I hope you’ll be a round for a long time to do.

If that doesn’t appeal, just go with what you think. People died for the right to vote. It is you civic duty to use it, regardless of your age.

I believe that TD does not warrant a warning, we all have our own views about celtic and what that encompasses. We all have the right to put our opinions forward in the strongest manner possible. We , no doubt have all done that. But as someone whom disagrees with TD (90%) I support his right to say what he feels about Celtic.God bless all bhoys.ktf.

The mother of a very dear friend has just finished a long course of treatment for breast cancer and although she is 70 and it was difficult and tiring she is doing better.

The kids and I prayed to St Peregrine and she wore a medal at each of her treatments.

I hope God gives her the strength to battle through.

    I found this prayer

A Prayer to St. Peregrine for One Suffering from Cancer

Dear St. Peregrine, I need your help. I feel so uncertain of my life right now.

This serious illness makes me long for a sign of God’s love.

Help me to imitate your enduring faith when you faced the ugliness of cancer and surgery.

Allow me to trust the Lord the way you did in this moment of distress.

I want to be cured, but right now I ask God for the strength to bear the cross in my life.

I seek the power to proclaim God’s presence in my life despite the hardship,

anguish and fear I now experience.

O Glorious St. Peregrine, be an inspiration to me and petitioner of those needed

graces from our loving Father. Amen.
