I’ve no affection for Real Madrid but was delighted for them, and Carlo Ancelotti in particular, last night. It’s getting to the stage that it’s impossible to figure out who the best team in Europe actually is.
Bayern Munich’s season has been historic. They swept aside German competitors with record-breaking ease on their way to what looked like them becoming the first team to retain Europe’s top crown in its Champions League format. Real were irresistible. Let’s hope for a Madrid final before the Lions in Lisbon next month.
After yesterday’s blog I heard that more journalistic allies from Anderston Quay have flocked to Dave King’s camp, including that Leggat (sp?) guy, who used to entertain many.
I’ve heard more theories as to what the Sevco board and the group trying to run their club into the ground are planning that I care to remember, but when you look at the team King in particular has pulled together, you would be forgiven for concluding there is no masterplan worthy of the name.
We can’t always judge a man by the company he keeps but we can just a strategy by those who fathered it.
Prediction: King will kill Sevco then fall on his arse. Bump.
Here we Go for 10 In a Row!
Applications for the 10th annual CQN charity golf day, which will take place in Aberdour Golf Club on Friday 4th July, will close this Friday, 2nd May.
As ever it will be oversubscribed so if you would like to attend, email BlantyreKev and Taggsy at cqnopen10IAR@gmx.co.uk before Friday. Cost for the full day’s entertainment including golf is £80. There are a very limited number of non-golfer evening places at £45. Further detail will be released nearer the date and when places confirmed.
Over the course of the season I’ve read lots of comment about the values we should aspire to as a club, specifically when it comes to alleviating poverty, both in our own community, and abroad. CQN’ers responded incredibly to our Malawi school kichen(s) appeal, which dwarfed our work at home.
The Charity Foundation are selling badges (£1 each) before the Dundee United game on 11 May to raise funds to feed the poor and hungry in and around Glasgow. I have volunteered as a coordinator on the day and have offered to help recruit around 100 to sell badges before the game.
This will be trophy presentation day – but the trophy isn’t coming out until after the game, so you’ll not miss any of the flesh-on-silver action.
If you are able to get involved in this initiative, which strikes the core of what we think of ourselves as a Movement, email your details to cfcfvolunteer@celticfc.co.uk .
Thank you.

Dont normally watch a lot of SSN but will have a wee peep at 10 :))
Mourinho gracious in defeat …..seriously
Sally and chelski a perfect fit
a manager who doesn’t know about money and a club who doesn’t care about money
mourinho -what game were you watching
NEVER in my life did I think I would congratulate Athletico, having attended that game 40 years ago. They certainly upped a gear in the 2nd half and after watching them in the first leg this was a surprise to me.
Congrats on TD on his yellow card.
Years ago in the local Boys Guild League, his namesake from Wishy or thereabouts kept picking up yellow and red cards. The committee decided to suspend him sine die for a fortnight !

don’t know if that’s your bet you posted about but you will be unlikely

That bet is settled as two singles
They call it ‘related contingencies’ ie one selection has direct impact on the other.
Well that was a game to get the heart turn a dispassionate fan of Burke into a fan of hare. Burke at least attacked his victims rather than just digging up the grave. Cheery or what. :-)
Mind you the chicken satay was brilliant.
Hail Hail

A victory for football.
The team with least graciousness and sporting merit lost.
Mourinho is a brilliant coach but his gamesmanship and cynical approach to winnining at all costs leaves me cold.
Ohhh before I go Phil Mac still giving sevco it tight on twitter.

best of LUCK

See my post at 21:58, badly written original post, should have made it clear it was two single bets.

Hail Hail!
I think it goes without saying and to be perfectly honest with you that after having a cuppa that Sally would totally back Abramovich.
squire
They should have narrowed the pitch.
I see that the Kilmarnock alleged forged signature story concludes with no action to be taken.
Fair enough. But, without suggesting for a second that there was a forged signature and a breach of the registration rules etc. in that case, after Nimmo-Smith how can the SPFL or SFA ever punish any Club ever again for a registration offence guilty verdict anyway?
Chelsea never kicked us off the park. Mourinho managed and directed a cynical team. But I am pretty sure that Jinky would have given a glance at the score and said “who gives a shite”

Markesh express, a perfect end to the season right enough. However, dont turn up for the title bash next saturday. You’ll be a bit lonely, the game is on sunday.
Get yourself to the hootenanny on sat instead.

Whit? Ya turnip, the idea is to take a hit and fall down with style.
Cue others who would take 5 mins to stop falling.
