Judge King plan by those who father it

950

I’ve no affection for Real Madrid but was delighted for them, and Carlo Ancelotti in particular, last night.  It’s getting to the stage that it’s impossible to figure out who the best team in Europe actually is.

Bayern Munich’s season has been historic.  They swept aside German competitors with record-breaking ease on their way to what looked like them becoming the first team to retain Europe’s top crown in its Champions League format.  Real were irresistible.  Let’s hope for a Madrid final before the Lions in Lisbon next month.

After yesterday’s blog I heard that more journalistic allies from Anderston Quay have flocked to Dave King’s camp, including that Leggat (sp?) guy, who used to entertain many.

I’ve heard more theories as to what the Sevco board and the group trying to run their club into the ground are planning that I care to remember, but when you look at the team King in particular has pulled together, you would be forgiven for concluding there is no masterplan worthy of the name.

We can’t always judge a man by the company he keeps but we can just a strategy by those who fathered it.

Prediction: King will kill Sevco then fall on his arse.  Bump.

Here we Go for 10 In a Row!

Applications for the 10th annual CQN charity golf day, which will take place in Aberdour Golf Club on Friday 4th July, will close this Friday, 2nd May.

As ever it will be oversubscribed so if you would like to attend, email BlantyreKev and Taggsy at cqnopen10IAR@gmx.co.uk before Friday.  Cost for the full day’s entertainment including golf is £80.  There are a very limited number of non-golfer evening places at £45.  Further detail will be released nearer the date and when places confirmed.

Over the course of the season I’ve read lots of comment about the values we should aspire to as a club, specifically when it comes to alleviating poverty, both in our own community, and abroad.  CQN’ers responded incredibly to our Malawi school kichen(s) appeal, which dwarfed our work at home.

The Charity Foundation are selling badges (£1 each) before the Dundee United game on 11 May to raise funds to feed the poor and hungry in and around Glasgow.  I have volunteered as a coordinator on the day and have offered to help recruit around 100 to sell badges before the game.

This will be trophy presentation day – but the trophy isn’t coming out until after the game, so you’ll not miss any of the flesh-on-silver action.

If you are able to get involved in this initiative, which strikes the core of what we think of ourselves as a Movement, email your details to cfcfvolunteer@celticfc.co.uk .

Thank you.

    Really? Surprised at that.

He is the best goalkeeper I have ever seen in a Celtic shirt. I only started watching Celtic mid 80’s though.

I was surprised too, I like him, but I have to be honest and say that when he first came I didn’t fancy him, I’m a holy goalie guy ;)

Could be taking the Admin points deduction this season, wee Sandy Bryson will be working overtime to make sure the pesky paperwork is correct :],or they will be re-writing the rules to make sure the huns don’t incur any points deductions next season

    More cheating!

Hearts should never have got away with that last season either. They delayed their admin until the season was finished. That was a disgrace.

Clubs have until the night before the new season starts to come out of admin in the Championship.

Clubs in administration should not be promoted.

The turning point for FF was when he saved the penalty against Hearts (I think in his first season?). Up till then the jury was still out on him as he seemed to lack confidence. After that penalty save he seemed to go from strength to strength. I think we were 1 – 0 up and the penalty was very late in the game, and we went on to take all three points. As I’ve told many my memory for games is crap, so I’m sure one of our historians will remember the details better than I have.

Probably rewriting the rules to give them a ten point start. Will need it right enough with Sally in the dugout.

    Apologies if already posted.

Sevco 5088 (remember them?) have lodged a Diss6 form with companies house.

This is a “Notice of striking-off action suspended”.

    Very interesting……..

Show us the deeds to the stadium that Bomber Brown played for.

Tom et al, a fiver for your thoughts re your post:

CW’s Sevco 5088 Scotland bought the assets: stadium, football operation and Murray Park, for the princely sum of £1.00., CW raised finance through Ticketus enabling the repayment of bank debt; CW now owned a football operation with substantial assets and one creditor – Ticketus.

To my knowledge no information is available concerning whether Ticketus demanded and were granted a security (Ibrox, Murray Park or both) in return for the 18M loan, many have remarked that it would be highly unlikely that any lender would advance such a sum of monies without security.

CW brought CG on board and Sevco 5088 Scotland changed name to Sevco 5088, somewhere during the name change and registration of directors CW disappeared, CG seems to have grabbed the Sevco 5088 assets without any payment to CW or Ticketus.

Ticketus have been extremely quiet considering they parted with 18M with no return. It has intrigued me that CW bought the lot for £1.00, engineered the repayment to the bank via Ticketus then vanished without a substantial payment or shares of those assets, and not a peep from Ticketus.

CG, now trading as Sevco 5088 proceeded to raise further capital via an IPO which brought in 22M of new investment through institutional investors, but in the Sevco 5088 first annual accounts a note of Contingent Liability exists which I understand as the CW claim of ownership and probably Ticketus security over Ibrox and Murray Park.

Recently it has been reported that City of London investment managers have lost their jobs or been disciplined and demoted due to their previous recommendations which prompted financial institutions to invest heavily in RIFC.

Is it a stretch of the boundaries of imagination to believe that CW will reappear as the rightful owner of the assets and the financial institutions which invested in the IPO will own no share of Sevco 5088 Scotland?

Is it a stretch of the imagination that King is aware of this, he can do a deal with CW and Ticketus and that he needs to starve the current incumbents of cash until CW gets the lot back?

Keepers can take a while to settle. A settled back 4 is a must.

I think we all forget how young he was when he came on loan to Celtic. Celtic are a huge club. Probably spooked him a wee bit.

Forster is a great goalie. His perfomances in Europe have been superb. I thought his confidence increased with the Europa League matches and he didn’t look back. That penalty save helped though.

The goal that Cha Du Ri gave away was a shocker in France. He had the cheek to laugh about it too. I would have taken him off instantly and never played him again.

Hibs eh. What a tale of woe.

    Results since January:

    Played 17

    Won 2

    Drawn 4

Lost 11 (inc Scottish Cup tie v Raith)

    10 points from a possible 48 since 1st January.

7 losses on the bounce in their last 7 matches.

Where will it all end? At home to Thistle on Saturday, away to Ross County, then home to Killie in the final fixture. 1 point separating all 5 teams threatened with relegation play off. Can’t fault the play-off place for drama.

I do hope they stay up though.

  12. If Phils tweets hint at an admin event likely then I will be over the moon. A lot of callers last night saying they never want an old firm game back. I agree totally. My mate’s wee brother was killed after a cup final. Rod Wallace scored the only goal. Can’t remember the year. Donald Findlay defended them but thankfully they got found guilty. Sorry for going off topic but Findlay also defended two guys who killed my mate when he was working in a pub. The two of them as guilty as sin but Findlay got them off on a not proven. I don’t know how he sleeps at night. Anyway no more old firm games for me.

Didn’t know Bob Hoskins played Iago. I imagine he would have been superb. I saw Frank Finlay’s Iago to Laurence Olivier’s Othello. (I’m really that old!) Who played Othello in the version you saw? It needs to be someone really powerful as Iago is a wonderful sleekit role. Maybe we should get superally to play it to Dave King’s Othello???

    Well said Sammi….

Samaras told the Celtic view: “When I started playing football, I always wanted to stay at a club for many years. I didn’t want to change clubs like other players do, moving every two or three years.

“I wanted to love a club and for it to love me back, so they could remember me for something. This club for me is Celtic.

“I have seen players coming here for six months, one year or two years and maybe they have played 60-70 games and they won’t be remembered.

“I wanted to love a club and for it to love me back, so they could remember me for something. This club for me is Celtic.”

    Giorgios Samaras

“I couldn’t imagine when I first came here on loan for six months that I would stay for another six years. It’s a great achievement to play 250 games but it is just a number.

“I have tried my best and tried to help my team mates be successful. But the most important thing is that it’s good for me to know that I have a connection at the club and that’s really important. I am not a passenger.

“I started my career in Holland and stayed for five years and had a bond with that club and I wanted my next step to be similar.

“That didn’t happen at Man City but from the moment I came here on loan as the season finished, I was 100 per cent sure that this was the club I wanted to be at.

“If you see souvenirs, I have from football – awards, hat-trick balls, medals and trophies – they are all from Celtic. When I retire I will have my hall of fame and everything there will be Celtic.”

The number of convictions is totally irrelevant to this lot . Also I suspect what those convictions are for . They’re not interested.

All they want to know is do they have enough money to put them back to where they belong.

    They have no shame
