Juxtaposition of Keane with wannabes elsewhere

Worst Rangers [sic]chief executive in history?
Check.

Worst Rangers [sic]fans in history?
Oh, please.  They have played their part to perfection.

Worst Rangers [sic]manager in history?
Who, Ally the Great Enabler?  No way.

Charles Green would not have any authority at Ibrox if Ally McCoist didn’t act as his enabler last year.  While every Celtic fan with a keyboard was typing “Can they really be so stupid again?” Ally was cutting a deal for almost 5% of the share capital of the company [sic].  None of this would be possible without Ally.  If you see him, buy him a pie.

The juxtaposition was pointed out to me:

19 years after John Keane stepped forward with an amount of money very precious to him..

With no guarantee it would solve our problems…

Or that he would see a penny of it again (for the record, he hasn’t, and he is unlikely to)…

A very different history played out across the city.

Today’s Herald told us the group trying to overthrow the Sevco board contains Jim McColl and that, “McColl is one of Scotland’s richest people, but he won’t spend his own money”.

The world is full of rich men who will not spend their own money.  Long may they squabble over the Ibrox debris.

Our honorary chairman, John Keane, waved to the Celtic Park crowd before letting the league flag fly high, a direct consequence of putting his money where his mouth was.

  1. Celtic Football Club and records go hand in hand.

Apart from the Leeds semi at Hampden, the record attendance for a club match in Europe is 146,433 for CELTIC v Aberdeen in the SC Final at Hampden on the 24 April 1937. 1000s more were locked out.

    Celtic won 2-1 of course.

    HH!!

  2. googybhoy

It’s great here just now. Was in the old Balloch Hotel and then the Tullie this afternoon with my younger daughter. Lots of tourists who appear to be enjoying themselves.

Thinking of Goa and I’ve never been so can’t comment but a very close friend of my older daughter is being taken to the Maldives later this year with her mum and is not happy because she understands that the weather will likely be awful. Be careful out there!

  3. As the squad stands Anthony Stokes is the most important player in the squad.

He is not the most exciting player or best player at the club just the most important until the club sign another striker capable of scoring 20+ bread and butter goals that won’t change.

Supporters should support the lad rather than undermine his considerable contribution.

  4. Can I have raspberry on that champions league ice cream?

Is the new Doctor related to my old classmate Gloria?

  5. jimbo67,

I was at the Morton game in the Hayshed with my auld Dad. It’s one of the few games I attended with him after I couldn’t be lifted over. I had the stupidity to say something good about Morton, before Bobby Lennox scored. I’ve never made that mistake again.

Careful bhoys …all this talk of daleks… the zombies accused us of calling them that before they were zombies

  7. It just gets better. THEMs won’t be happy.

Lawwell is undoubtedly behind the selection of the new Doctor:o)

  8. thomthethim.

I can also proudly lay claim to being an Annagry man. Our family upped sticks in Glasgow in 1974 and moved back to the ancestral home, which spiritually we had never left.

  9. Parkheadcumsalford

My second ever Celtic match. I thought all games were like it. For a couple of years they were

  10. One half of Glasgow has The Doctor

The other half is about to be exterminated.

There’s a TV Show in there somewhere.

  11. TBJ

That Dalek craic was the most contrived nonsense I’ve ever heard …utterly hilarious

  12. Jobo

Good to see you and Jobo (junior) in the Gazebo prior to k.o.

My advice would be to remain with Virgin Media who are currently negotiating with BT sport for the channel, I expect they’ll have concluded soon, and any Celtic games previously picked up by ESPN will be back on Virgin, and without further charge.

Apart from that, if you already have the only purpose made fibre optic under ground cable service in the UK, it’s crazy not to use it, and have everything shoved to you, down

    a phone line.

I’m a great fan of Virgin Media and have Tivo, and HD boxes along with TV Broadband and phone.

The additional charge for Sky Sports is where Sky win custom, but they way round it is to get Sky Go and mirror it to your TV. I’ve know techy guys that envy the area I live in, because they have no cable.

  13. Good evening all

So the Tardis is going to have a tricolour and a GB banner inside. :))

  16. ……and i can of course vouch for the natural scenic wonders.

Not wanting anyone to get the wrong impression…the ancestral home was in the classic architectural style of the period, two rooms covered with black slate and a yearly coat of whitewash.

  17. Fanadpatriot

Sorry I missed your happy news earlier. Congratulations and God Bless Riley Patrick

Congratulations and welcome to the celtic family Riley Patrick ,May all your days be blessed

  19. the bould bhoys on

Latest from Murray Park is that theres a state of the art wind machine to be installed next week to recreate the conditions the galactico 11 might face as they battle their way back (sic)

  20. bournesouprecipe

sorry to piggy back on this, I too m in a similar position as Jobo…..

You mention Sky Go, you do need a Sky Account to get that, do you not? I am surrounded by tall trees and locked into cable , have to say the Virgin broadband is first class.

  21. The Boy Jinky on

    Pf

I pride myself on being aware of the banter… some of it lower than a snakes belly I admit. But I had never even heard of the dalek tag and when someone explained it I was like … hmmmmm I would never have got that one.

Looking forward to seeing the tardis remodelled …

  22. Ally says Sevco need cleansed, everything needs to be out in the open, that there will be no whitewash at Ibrox!!!

Nae whitewash , he’s correct. Who in their right mind would paint that asbestos riddled , bigotdome!!

  23. Can I have raspberry on that Champions League Ice Cream

I thought the new Doctor was an old St Ninian’s boy- Gloria was from the Briggs, cousin I thought.

    Jimbo

  24. bournesouprecipe –

thank you very much for your wise words of wisdom. Might just let it be for another couple of weeks.

Time for ironing! And watching golf.
