Shakhter seem convinced they will eliminate Celtic tomorrow. Their friendly journalist explained why to Kazak readers today:
“Despite winning comfortably enough in the capital last Tuesday, Celtic remain confident of overturning the deficit in Albion (sic). Getting to the group stage is not a forbidden dream for Shakhter, it is their right as a result of recent domestic success.
“Shakhter have the mining spirit of resilience, respect and strict discipline. Glasgow also has a long mining tradition but Margaret Thatcher closed the mines in the 1980s (!). Since then, Glasgow people lost their previous spirit once and for all.
“Neil Lennon was unprepared and the Celtic defenders unable to do the job in Astana. Just like BATE Borisov, they think they will overcome the result in the second leg. Just like BATE they are still unprepared for Shakhter.
“Albion’s (sic) best managers are from Glasgow, Busby, Ferguson, Stein, Shankley, Dalglish, Moyes, but the current Celtic leadership chose a man from Ireland, Neil Lennon, who is permanently under fire from fans of the “Celts”.
“Celtic have an epidemic of injuries. Stokes, Commons, Forrest, Boerrigter, Kayal and Samaras.
“The referee is from Norway. Scandinavians appreciate a tough fight. The game is a very sensitive, contact, martial arts sport. Svein Moen will understand.
“Before the game in Astana Neil Lennon said Shakhter play a very British style. Why wasn’t he able to find an antidote to this? Maybe he got Shakhter completely wrong.
“Karagandy’s three central defenders are impenetrable. They close down space and do not interfere with each other.
“The “Catholics” refuse to acknowledge that Shakhter did not miss a ball against them in the first leg. They think that because they can from 0-2 down against Inverness they can do the same against Shakhter. This is unacceptable. It will seem more absurd if the Miners open their account in Glasgow.
“In defeating BATE, Shakhter have already eliminated a higher seed than Celtic.”
Leave nothing in the dressing room, Celtic.
Charlotte Fakes
When I started Celtic Quick News in 2004 I had neither contacts nor inside information. I started writing about the accounts, which was hugely consequential but, at the time, largely ignored public information. Soon after the blog gained some momentum this changed. People would come to me with information and views which were used to direct articles.
It only took a matter of weeks to go from zero contacts to having a network of people feeding into the blog.
I have no idea how Charlotte Fakes acquired some of her early information but, with doubts over the matter, it is understandable that the media was hesitant at touching it under the shadow of Leveson.
The Charlotte Fakes story has moved on, recent revelations have nothing whatsoever to do with Mr Whyte’s mailbox. We are now in the territory of cast iron whistle-blower information. She has her own network of people feeding legally acquired information, which the whistle-blower believes is in the public interest to reveal.
Some people in the game have had their snouts in the trough for so many decades a reservoir of resentment has built up against them among those who were once collaborators but are now cast aside. You are reading the fruits of this on Charlotte Fakes.
The only question is, while the rest of the world has a new-found appreciation of the value of whistle-blowers, are ‘all the president’s men’ still prepared to look the other way in Scotland?

Christian Benitez who died in Qatar on 27th July appears to have been whitewashed from modern history.
The unseen FIFA hand at work methinks.
Good evening,
Don’t know if this has been posted before but there are some good photos here.

That’s exactly what I was talking about. You’re bleating on about non-existent posts (through a red mist it seems). Celtic supporters on this blog express a wide variety of opinions and the fact that you don’t agree with them, doesn’t make them any less of a supporter. For you’re info, I missed one home game last season, I was there on Saturday and I’ll be there tomorrow night and I can guarantee I’ll be hoarse on Thursday morning.
By the way, see if anyone posts negatively about Celtic, do you think it affects their performance? This is the internet man, bit of perspective required.
I’d try yoga for that temper.

From today’s Guardian (the Fiver):
‘Super Kazi go sadistic, poor ex-lamb delicious!’
Shakhter Karagandy manager Viktor Kumykov expects the club’s sheep-sacrificing ritual to continue before their Big Cup play-off second leg at the Queen’s Celtic. “As far as we know in Scotland the agriculture is very developed so it shouldn’t be an issue to find a sheep,” he honked.
John Brady, chief suit of animal protection charity, OneKind, is inevitably fuming. “The arrogance of the Kazakhstan side is really quite staggering if they think they can continue with their bizarre and unnecessary rituals while in a country known to be a nation of animal lovers (sic – add your own interpretation),” bellowed Brady.
SOAL,
Batteries are fine, I’ve not had the system long.
Probably hit a wrong button somewhere.
So, in an evening where Champions League qualifiers are the top attraction in sport, Sevco are playing a cup match against a team from another country.

Celtic don’t have any questions to answer…. Our Board / Manager are trying to run a Football Club, despite all the ‘barriers’ put in their way by those who don’t want to see us succeed ….. that’s enough of a challenge without get embroiled in all ‘their’ corrupt shoite ….. let ‘them’ get on with digging a big hole for themselves and we will continue to develop our Club …… At the end ofvthe day it is the courts’ / BDO’s responsibility to investigate the corruption within Scottish Football ….. sorry, but I’m getting thoroughly pissed off with people trying to drag Celtic into the cesspole currently occupied by the zombies and the SFA …..
The Huns hold the English Aristocrats in 1st half, still scoreless.
Don’t know how that happened.
Forgot Deidco we’re playing till hears….. Oohs and Aahs…. from the lovely church going peepil, next door.
Good game in Warsaw. Legia denied ‘good’ goal for offside. Still in it though. Legia support impressive

Matthews and Ambrose can throw the ball just as long .Lets give them a taste of their own medicine.
I mentioned this a couple of days ago.Can anyone remember us scoring from a long throw in from Adam.I cant.
Caught the last 30mins of SSB on Clyde when driving home tonight.
Surprised at a number of things……
Virtually all callers claimed to be Celtic people. I know “they” have an important tie tonight against the mighty Berwick.
None were positive about tomorrow….. “With hope in our hearts” anyone?
Guidi, I think, was a disgrace….slaughtered Balde and Virgil….so much so bordering on unprofessional and certainly immensely disrespectful. A total fud of a so-called pundit.
McAvennie was on and was almost incoherent. No wonder he got a gig on Clyde…a perfect fit and, on tonight’s performance and absolute t*t.
Amazed and disgusted at way some so-called fans had a pop at big Fraser. Gran Mura, anyone?
Next week I”ll be sure to remember the CDs or enjoy the sound of silence.
As to tomorrow….seats in 405 await and convinced we’ll do the business.
As for Clyde and the so called fans……thank God they’re not in 405.
I’d also ban Guidi from CP.
Let him enjoy his 15 minutes of fame.
Rangers holding Deidco away from home.

This came from wikipedia so it just a list that people have put together and not official in any way. That is the problem with wiki that it is not really fully researched so must be treated as such. I saw the Pukki was already a Celtic player on it the other day according to his entry.

I have recently seen Moyes ,Wenger and Malky McKay saying its difficult to get players in,yet when NL says the same its because the board aint backing him according to some
Moyes put £27 million on the table for two Everton players and got knocked back.At least he can be seen to be trying with respectable bids for his targets.

Auldheid,
Only 60 signing up would be a terrible disappointment.
There isn’t a Celtic fans’ site you could go on where there aren’t any number of posts/threads every day about how sick people are of the corruption in our game.
So,here is an opportunity for those of us who own shares to at least attempt to do something practical to have this issue addressed.
Result? Only 60 so far are interested enough.
If you are a shareholder reading this and support the proposed resolution get it done for goodness sake. The chance may never come again.
