Kazaks disparage Neil, Celtic preparations. Charlotte Fakes

1247

Shakhter seem convinced they will eliminate Celtic tomorrow.  Their friendly journalist explained why to Kazak readers today:

“Despite winning comfortably enough in the capital last Tuesday, Celtic remain confident of overturning the deficit in Albion (sic).  Getting to the group stage is not a forbidden dream for Shakhter, it is their right as a result of recent domestic success.

“Shakhter have the mining spirit of resilience, respect and strict discipline.  Glasgow also has a long mining tradition but Margaret Thatcher closed the mines in the 1980s (!).  Since then, Glasgow people lost their previous spirit once and for all.

“Neil Lennon was unprepared and the Celtic defenders unable to do the job in Astana.  Just like BATE Borisov, they think they will overcome the result in the second leg.  Just like BATE they are still unprepared for Shakhter.

“Albion’s (sic) best managers are from Glasgow, Busby, Ferguson, Stein, Shankley, Dalglish, Moyes, but the current Celtic leadership chose a man from Ireland, Neil Lennon, who is permanently under fire from fans of the “Celts”.

“Celtic have an epidemic of injuries.  Stokes, Commons, Forrest, Boerrigter, Kayal and Samaras.

“The referee is from Norway.  Scandinavians appreciate a tough fight.  The game is a very sensitive, contact, martial arts sport.  Svein Moen will understand.

“Before the game in Astana Neil Lennon said Shakhter play a very British style.  Why wasn’t he able to find an antidote to this?  Maybe he got Shakhter completely wrong.

“Karagandy’s three central defenders are impenetrable.  They close down space and do not interfere with each other.

“The “Catholics” refuse to acknowledge that Shakhter did not miss a ball against them in the first leg.  They think that because they can from 0-2 down against Inverness they can do the same against Shakhter.  This is unacceptable.  It will seem more absurd if the Miners open their account in Glasgow.

“In defeating BATE, Shakhter have already eliminated a higher seed than Celtic.”

Leave nothing in the dressing room, Celtic.

Charlotte Fakes

When I started Celtic Quick News in 2004 I had neither contacts nor inside information.  I started writing about the accounts, which was hugely consequential but, at the time, largely ignored public information.  Soon after the blog gained some momentum this changed.  People would come to me with information and views which were used to direct articles.

It only took a matter of weeks to go from zero contacts to having a network of people feeding into the blog.

I have no idea how Charlotte Fakes acquired some of her early information but, with doubts over the matter, it is understandable that the media was hesitant at touching it under the shadow of Leveson.

The Charlotte Fakes story has moved on, recent revelations have nothing whatsoever to do with Mr Whyte’s mailbox.  We are now in the territory of cast iron whistle-blower information.  She has her own network of people feeding legally acquired information, which the whistle-blower believes is in the public interest to reveal.

Some people in the game have had their snouts in the trough for so many decades a reservoir of resentment has built up against them among those who were once collaborators but are now cast aside.  You are reading the fruits of this on Charlotte Fakes.

The only question is, while the rest of the world has a new-found appreciation of the value of whistle-blowers, are ‘all the president’s men’ still prepared to look the other way in Scotland?

    Harry Gregg Interview:

Was aged 10 when the Munich Air Disaster happened – kind of remember the extensive news coverage at the time.

Have read Busby’s Autobiography and some other books so was pretty familiar with the events (had also seen the Busby Babes Documentary and the excellent BBC Surviving Disasters Series).

Have to honest – I can’t remember ever hearing Harry Gregg being interviewed. Thought the 30 minutes that Colin Murray did with him today was awesome – you could hear the passion/ emotion in his voice as Harry related his story of joining Man Utd (signing-on fee £35), the Munich Disaster and playing for N.I.

Most of the above I knew (had read) but was taken by surprise by his hero-worship of our Jonny Thomson and his spoken rendition of the poem (song).

Was interesting that Colin Murray said he had spent over 6 hours at Harry’s home and that they had to condense the interview to 30 minutes (double the time normally allocated). A fascinating man – well worth anyone’s time to listen to the iplayer version.

Don’t know if the interview comes separate from the programme (started just after the 11:00am news).

These sheep murderers seem to be quite full of themselves ahead of tomorrow’s game. I honestly thought they were absolutely gash last week and got all the luck going. Although we didn’t play well (apart from the opening 10 minutes) there’s no doubt in my mind that we are much better than them. If we play with absolute discipline and focus and at a high tempo we will wear them down and score the goals we need to go through.

3-5-2 on the basis that this mob will park the bus and rely on hopeful punts in the general direction of a lone striker. We don’t need four at the back. Commons in the hole between midfield and striker. Quick passing football on the deck with Matthews and Derk getting to the bye-line and getting decent crosses and cut-backs in as often as possible. If Derk’s not fit then Samaras wide left. Charlie and Kris should get a few free-kick opportunities around the box. As much movement in the box as possible at corners with the likes of Ledley and Lustig looking to get on the end of good deliveries.

Likely to be a nail-biting night but I am confident. Let’s get the place absolutely rocking and try and spook this mob with an intimidating atmosphere right from the off.

    Evening all.

Well, I am shattered this evening after a day of absolutely hectic non stop meetings.

I will be getting my breakfast/lunch shortly and will be flaked out by half six.

Anyway, just wanted to say that it is great news about MacKenzie Furniss but she still needs to raise funds so the MacKenzie Challenge is well and truly on for tomorrow night at £5 per goal.

Ok– if we hit six you can have the seventh one for free but make sure we keep supporting her.

Further, this move by the Government must not be allowed to be a one off so please sign the petition at the bottom of the page.

Also– on the transfer front I really fancy the Israeli lad Yadin– check out his you tube video– I can’t put up any more links or the post will flt into moderation mode!!!

Lastly, the late great Chic Murray — creator of characters like Norman Prettywillie and Timothy Tighthole– is a long standing blog project of mine as Chic’s true story is both tragic and hilarious with many of his gags being repeated by others ad nauseam.

However, he did not tell Billy Connelly the Bike in the arse joke!

Billy was told that by a wee guy who I used to do some work for called Joe McCourtney who later acted as a musical agent for the likes of Jimmy Dewar who at one time played with Procul Harem and collaborated with other musical folks such as Robin Trower.

Knackered now so will sod off for the moment!

  10. AuldHeid,

Thanks for posting the Phil article.

We shouldn’t forget the stuff published by Charlotte with regard to the 2011 UEFA “cheatathon”

If the emails published are genuine (and I’ve heard nothing about their authenticity being in doubt) then Regan drafted a statement he intended to give to the media but first, incredibly, ran it past Whyte and his cronies for their thoughts/approval.

They told him to bin the statement and say nothing which Regan duly complied with.

How corrupt does it need to be before we say “enough”

With this in mind and Phil’s reference to the lack of comment from Celtic FC,do you happen to know (or anyone else for that matter) where we are with regard to getting the requisite numbers for the resolution for the Celtic AGM?

I’ve been out of the loop a bit lately and haven’t caught up with canamalar.

The concept of talent management is often talked about by the club but seldom delivered.

Not sure what the current focus is regarding the U20’s but we should have a much better visibility of who we have and what future they are going to have.

I have talked about previously that the youth / development set up should be aiming to deliver 2 candidates for the squad every season.

    2012/13 = TW + DMcG.

2013/14 = One of the Twins and BA who got on at the weekend?

Not sure on this just a first cut but we need this every season.

Another area to work is the cream of the SPL.

I know it is much derided but there are players out there who could do a job for us.

The issue of JR being a tailor made GH replacement is very live at the moment.

Really unsure why we pay so little attention to the SPL.

Not as if there are players there who regularly embarrass the players that we do have.

    However basic point on this.

In order to do talent management you need to know your best 11.

Currently I do not know that team and worryingly neither does NL.

    However here’s hoping tomorrow.

I think we can do it.

They are a lot of things we are not at the moment.

Energetic, willing, focused, well coached and lucky.

They are however still a Conference level Stoke tribute act.

    5 – 1 is my scoreline.

  23. seems strange to me that celtic are to blame for ranger’s demise and rise in the same breath.

Celtic’s sole purpose is to look after the interests of celtic, lots of people have different views on what that means (having or not having rangers etc…), split of t.v income, small/ large league etc… who is right and who is wrong? who makes that decision? do they come with their own world view?

there is no team called the Glasgow ranger (they died), the myth of transferring history from one club to another is just that a myth, propaganda anyone with half a functioning brain can see that is bull, impossible. ranger supporters have their own world view and no matter what we say they will see that zombie of a club as the ‘same’.

but like us they know the truth, but like most of us that have suffered loss, if we could we would avoid by any means possible. (see ipox for further details
